About
Indigenous is an initiative of The Advancement of Community Empowerment and Partnership (ACEP), a local Vietnamese Non-Government-Organization (NGO) working in community development and poverty reduction within Vietnam's rural ethnic minority groups and farming communities. The Indigenous "Featuring An Indigenous Root - FAIR" principle highlights the desire to integrate indigenous knowledge and culture into our product collections in a fair production trading approach.

Good coffe and handcrafted ceramics
Nov 2016
This coffee shop is on a funky street near the Cathedral. It specializes in quality, fair trade coffee and also serves teas, juices, and snacks. Those seeking handmade, painted ceramics should also give this place a look. I found the prices very reasonable for the quality and regret not buying more after traveling to Hoi An where the prices were inflated.

Oriberry Cafe - Coffee and Ceramics
May 2016 • Solo
A lovely find on a nice street. Great coffee - Vietnamese style and Melbourne quality cafe latte. A wide range of coffee to try so you need to visit more than once.
There a lovely unique hand crafted ceramics on display as well and these can be purchased.
A nice place to sit, sip and enjoy being in Hanoi.

Lovely ceramic pieces
I found this place through trip advisor and was really glad I did. I came to buy a ceramic coffee drip and ended up with 6 plates, 3 cups and 2 coffee drips. The handpainted designs are very pretty and I couldn't decide between the dragonfly, flower and fish motifs.

The staff were helpful and packed my items carefully to ensure they could travel well.

The name of the shop isn't actually Indigenous but Oriberry, but the address at 36 Au Trieu is correct.

I didn't try the coffee as we'd just come from a heavy breakfast at the hotel.

The ceramic pieces are truly lovely and come from the ceramic village so if yiu don't have time for that then certainly come to this shop for some beautiful collectables.

Lovely pottery items
Sep 2014 • Business
This little shop is getting many reviews for the coffee. But you should know that it sells some really gorgeous pottery items too. Celedon green on the outside with blue and white patterns on the inside. Other pieces are just blue and white with unique patterns like dragonflies. Not a huge selection, but what they have is very nice. Prices reasonable. Also they sell coffee beans and ground coffee, if you want to take it back home.

Melbourne quality
Been in hanoi for a week and tried lots of coffee places and this is by far the best. They buy beans from single source local growers and use real milk. There is so much condensed milk coffee in hanoi, great to have a good melbourne quality coffee to start the day. Five stars.

fine quality
Just walk around the old street , and see this restaurant. And We read some comments. I think the coffee is fine, but not so high quality. In Hanoi, everywhere have coffee provide, I can say here is not the top quality choices of coffee. The staff cannot speak English with us.

Great coffee and beautiful, affordable gifts
We went to Indigenous first and foremost for a cup of coffee. It was delicious so say the least, and while we were enjoying it we spotted heaps of beautiful pottery. We didn't want to buy it at first, since we still have quite some travelling to do, but we couldn't resist, especially when we saw the very reasonable prices. All in all, a great place!

Tasty coffee and served for a good cause
Everyone is so friendly, from the barista, to even the guard from the shop next door who helped me park my motorbike due to the lack of space. I have tried several types of coffee here and what I loved most is espresso and americano, which tastes always flavorful and natural (in lots of other places they sell artificial flavored coffee which is even harmful to your health if drinking too much). The shop is opened by an NGO to support ethnic minority groups in poor and remote regions of Vietnam, which is really good cause apart from their already perfect quality and service. The cafe also includes a handicrafts shop which sells various kinds of hand-made products by Vietnamese artisans. Last but not least, the barista also told me that you will get the 9th cup free so one more big bonus to this place.

A fair cup of coffee/tea and beautiful handicraft
To be honest, I don't drink much coffee, so I can't say much about the quality of the coffee, but I heard it's really good. However, I drink tea and I think the tea there is really good!

I love this shop because everything they're selling is based on fair trade principles and it's also very good quality. They pay attention to the quality of the tea/coffee and all the handicraft. Moreover, in this shop you find very different handicraft than all the handicraft shops in Hanoi that are basically all selling the same stuff.

By buying there, you make a difference, help disadvantaged communities in Vietnam and get very good quality products! It's a lot of ++++. You should definitely make a stop there when you're in Hanoi
