I am an expat living in Ho Chi Minh City. I have traveled to Hanoi many times and Paloma Motorbike Tour is highly recommended by one of my friend who is living in Hanoi. I had booked an excursion to go outside of the city, visit ancient temples, countryside and meet local people in the villages. The lady who escorted me in the tour was great, teaching me a lots of Vietnamese culture, traditions. All the arrangements were well organized though the weather was not so good. A bit cold and humid but we were absolutely satisfied with the service provided. Highly recommended. Love to come back again to take another tour with Paloma. Thank you.

The idea of hopping on a motorbike in Hanoi was a little intimidating, but the drivers were all fantastic and the bikes seemed new and good condition. My boyfriend and I had the BEST time on the tour - my favourite experience in Hanoi hands down. The city looks beautiful at night but sometimes it's hard to appreciate because of how busy it is - from the back of a bike it's actually easier to relax and look around. We stopped at a few highlights like the opera house and the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum which were really pretty all lit up at night. Our guide, Nam, was th ebest, so funny and friendly with great English and loads of funny facts about Vietnamese culture. There was a structure to the tour and lots of relevant info but we also just chatted a lot and Nam would share whatever popped into his head - which was a great way to find out more about the culture!

The food was absolutely fantastic - loved the coffee shop to start, the fresh spring rolls, and the final dinner - WOW! SO much food - delicious!

The staff were wonderful, we loved the drivers. Had an absolutely amazing time from start to finish. Don't miss it!

A few years back, I wrote of our XO Foodie Tour of Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City; Paloma seems to have copied that tour for Hanoi.
The Hanoi tour is a day tour and includes visits to a number of the main sites in Hanoi in addition to a sampling of Vietnamese cuisine, Hanoi style. My wife and I were passengers on the back of motorcycles driven by our guides, two young ladies in traditional 'ao dai'.
We toured the old city and various areas in the newer sections to see the sights of Hanoi. All along the way our guides explained anything and everything about what we were seeing as we drove along. We stopped at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and grounds, the West Lake, a number of temples, pagodas and markets. It was a nice way to spend the morning. We finished with a lunch that included an assortment of area specialties and received T-shirts and pashmina scarves as souvenirs. The tour cost about $59 each and was well worth experiencing when you are in Hanoi.

Travelling alone in Hanoi, for the first time, and wanting to learn about something about this vibrant city, and the lifestyle of its people. Someone suggested Paloma Motorbike Tours..
My initial reaction was..Me? At the age of 71, on a motorbike, in a strange city.
I dont think so! It was then explained, I didn't have to to do the actual driving. All expected of of me, was to sit tandem behind a charming young woman in national dress, and let her worry about the driving and traffic, whilst I absorbed myself in the energy, beauty and night life of Hanoi..
I was picked up from my hotel, fitted with an helmet, and taken for coffee at the Opera House cafe to meet the rest of the people on the tour. We were then linked with an intercom system, allowing us, not only to hear the commentary, from our knowledgeable and experienced young guide, but also to ask questions and interact with observations made by the others. After a safety check, we mounted the bikes and off we went...
There is so much going on in Hanoi, to see and absord, and just as I was beginning to feel I needed to stop and take it all in, we stopped, dismounted at the first of three scheduled stops, and invited to a sample a refreshing drink, and some delicious local food.
The tour is comprehensive, catering to all tastes, and nearly 3 hours long, but so cleverly scheduled, with stops to break the ride, interesting sites, efficient and friendly staff, it all seems like moments.
Never at any time was I anxious, about the traffic, or uncomfortable, and it was fun! This is an Hanoi experience you cannot afford to miss.
SINCERELY

Fantastic way to see Hanoi at night. The bikes seemed new, everything was well organised. We only booked by telephone when we got there, and there was just 2 of us, so it was essentially a private tour. At USD68 per person, we got a crew of 4 in total, a tour of about 3-4 hours, dinner, snacks, drinks, a free t-shirt and a scarf for each of us - I would say very good value. Good explanation by the guide Nam, who took really pictures of us as well! He was very chatty and great to talk to. The guide and drivers were freelancers, so it was interesting to also talk to them about their day job - one works in media, one is an entrepreneur and another is a budding designer. Food quality was so-so, but loved the ride across the bridge. It's cold in Dec, especially on the bike, so dress warm! This was a highlight in our trip - highly recommended.

City & Food Tour $65, fantastic way to see the city and get amongst it like a local, eat and try there local food too. This was unreal! Pick up from the Hotel, there was even a photographer there too. We stopped for coffee, local snacks then the most amazing local dinner ever! It was such a great way to see the city. We all had ear pieces as well to communicate , by far the best money I spent on our one month in Vietnam :-)

Arrived in Hanoi on Friday night and had a Paloma tour booked for 0800 Saturday morning. our drivers met us at the hotel on time and we got straight onto the scooters. There was two of us and we were the only ones on this tour. Had no idea what to expect and this turned out to be a brilliant, fun, crazy experience. Crazy because you are right in the middle of the Hanoi traffic, but there is no better way to experience Hanoi. Our drivers were amazing, handling the scooters with ease. They were friendly, fun and made sure we had a great time. The coffee and lunch stops were very good, and a great way to sample local food.

I would highly recommend this trip - its the best way to get your bearings and understand how the traffic works in Hanoi.

We did the city lights and food tour. The female drivers were all very professional and friendly. We felt safe on the back of the scooters. The tour provided many stops at food venues with plenty of food (we were very full by the end of it). As the night progressed on the scooters, the winds made the night chilly, so I would recommend bringing a jumper. Nam (our tour guide) was very professional and easy to understand. It was a great experience and we would highly recommend this tour to other people.

We arrived Friday night in the dark having booked the 8.30am morning tour round Hanoi the next morning. The girls from Paloma turned up promptly and having never even sat on a motorbike before felt completely at ease getting on the back of a scooter and weaving our way through the chaotic but organised Hanoi traffic.

First of all you stop for a coffee and briefing and then you get on the back of the bike and see the real Hanoi side streets as you navigate your way through to the main attractions. All the time I felt very at ease on the bike and every time we got off to see an attraction the girls made sure we were ok. Their English was good and they told us a lot about the history of the city that we didn't know.

The tour stops several times for food and by the time we stopped for lunch with a fab view of the Long Bien Bridge we were already full but got to try some authentic Vietnamese food - which having never been to Vietnam before was so good to eat.

This tour really helped us learn about the city and give us the confidence to walk around on our own as we could ask the girls anything at all.

If you are a single traveller, in a group with others or just experiencing Hanoi for the first time I would recommend this tour to you in order to give you the "wow" factor and let you see the real Hanoi. The girls restaurant recommendations were also superb and would like to thank them both for a superb introduction to Hanoi. If I went back to Hanoi again I would definitely go in one of their tours.
