We booked only one week before we flew out for a last-minute 8 day,7 night trip to Vietnam. As first-time Vietnam travellers, we only knew we wanted to see Hanoi, get out to the country riding bikes and see Halong Bay. We were picked up from the airport by our driver Tang and guide Cuong and everything was looked after. Most meals were included, Cuong was an amazing guide, he has a degree in History and Tourism so we learnt a lot and had many interesting conversations. The environmental highlights were Mai Cheu, riding from Cuc Phuong National part to Tam Coc and of course Halong Bay. Ly was very accommodating and efficient with her responses from our first contact with the company and Tang was an amazing driver in their crazy traffic. We would recommend staying in the cabins in the National Park rather than the stuck-in-time Cuc Phuong Resort, we looked at the cabins and although pretty basic they are clean and right on a pretty lake in the park. Make sure you take medication in case of gastro. Primate Rescue Centre was interesting. Hotel Tirant Hanoi is an oasis in the assault on the senses which is the the old town. The real highlight for us was the people we met - with the smart, kind-hearted, beautiful human, Cuong, at the top of the list!

Trung took 3 of us “Medicare” eligible on a 1/2 day country side tour of Hanoi. But to get to the countryside we first had to cycle about an 1/2 hour thru the craziness of Hanoi city. Cars, rickshaws, motor scooters, potholes, , No stop lights, no lanes, free full all traffic. I swear my heart has never beat so fast. But Trung was very good about guiding us into the country. I swear a bus was inches from me along part of the way. But we made it to the countryside and so enjoyed the rest of our trip. We crossed the Red River twice on a very old ferry. Truant stopped and bought us rain ponchos with the threat of rain. We visited a pagoda - we were the only ones there along with the Buddhist monk. Stopped by a small market and bought some local fruit and sat and ate it at a beautiful temple. After returning to the city, Trung took us to a local street PHO place. Followed by some famous EGG coffeee. Sounded terrible but try it.....a real treat. Scarey but great bragging rights! Try to get Trung as your guide.

As with all guided tours you're really at the mercy of the guide that you get. Myself and a friend went on the 2-day/1-night cycle tour of the Mekong Delta and stayed at the Mekong Riverside Resort (which was lovely!) It should have been a great trip but ended up being only average due to the poor quality of the guide. He was clearly into his cycling, but didn't seem that interested in us. He tended to ride around 100m in front of us and when we caught up he would just cycle off again. He told us very little about the area, though he did answer any questions we asked. Overall, he seemed completely uninterested in us, didn't ask us how we were doing, whether the pace suited us or not, whether we were enjoying ourselves. It was really odd. Anyway - apart from the guide himself, the tour was professionally organised, the bikes were good quality and the itinerary was good. Just ask to avoid going to the big tourist restaurant in My Tho for meals - it was like a giant motorway services cafe (and not in a good way!)... on day two we insisted on going somewhere local and had a delicious bowl of Pho in a small, local cafe instead, which was FAR better!

Dear Michael B Thank you very much for your review. It's missing this review. We investigated the guide and understand the situation as what you have said. We tried our best to choose the good guide for our tour, this is rarely happened as most of vietnamese guides' are friendly and helpful. We do hope to welcome you back for another chance to serve. We spent 2 days cycling around the Mekong Delta with Tien our wonderful guide. We had 3 children (13,11,9) and found the tour to be safe, fun and so interesting. The organisation and most importantly the safety was top class. We were treated to wonderful hospitality all the way with quiet paths away from the bustling traffic, great food and a wonderful overnight home stay visit and multiple boat rides as well. Tien was always so helpful and had our enjoyment as his sole focus. I can really recommend our experience of using this company for your touring needs as they were first. Class.

Just finished a 6 day tour from HCMC to Hoi An with Tien (our guide) and Hai (our driver). Had an amazing time. Tien was very knowledgeable and both did a great job of looking after us and giving us a real Vietnam experience. We enjoyed a variety of local Vietnamese food, mainly at family run restaurants, as well as many coffee and sugar can juice stops along the way. Accommodation was generally good, although suggest you request something other than the Central Hotel in Quang Nai.
