David was our driver, with Lilly as our guide, both were fantastic. David took us to his family home, his mother cooked us a great lunch, we ate with his family. We went on a one-hour bike ride with Lilly and David's brother through the village and rice fields, very quiet, birds singing, pretty area. We then dressed in work clothes and went out to the rice fields with the water buffalo, David showed us how to plow, rake and plant rice. Very hard work, we will always remember this when eating rice in the future.

On the way back to Hanoi, we visited a temple and a stork lake, both were well worth seeing

I would highly recommend this excursion, David is very informative, passionate guide and enjoyed our day with him very much.

Thank you so much for your hospitability, we had a great time with viet farm trip
The whole trip was amazing, the stork island was breathtaking and it was interesting to see the Bat Trang pottery factory. When we arrived at the Viet farm trip homestay we were met with waving and friendly faces who offered us drinks.
It was really fun working in the fields, riding buffalo and planting rice. Now we understand how hard local people have to work.
Biking around the village, visiting and meeting the locals was a great experience.Thank you for the delicious meals you cooked for us, We will definetly take some of these dishes back home.
It was an unforgrtable experience to take part of the real “Vietnamese life” and we will
strongly recommend viet farm trip to everyone we know
Best wishes for the future

My husband and I have recently had a trip to Vietnam, we had one day spare and decided to book the Farm Trip with David. Right from my first enquiry to the end of our trip, the experience was great. The farm tour was great fun and while riding around the village we even got invited into a local house. A great way to experience traditional village life, and the food was amazing.

My boyfriend and I only had 3 days in Hanoi and chose the Viet farm tour as one of our activities based on recommendations. We travelled at the end of May and it was incredibly hot. Had to shower and change clothes twice a day because of all the sweat! The day of the Viet farm tour seemed to be even hotter than the other days.

David was absolutely professional from the booking to the very end of the tour. We did not have local numbers so he called our hotel to confirm the tour and pick up time in the morning. The drive to the farm was long, but very scenic and David provided a lot of information of the history and culture of Vietnam.

We stopped by a market on our way to the farm and the locals could not get enough of us, felt like quite the celebrity for three days. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We started off with the farming work ploughing and riding a buffalo. We then got to wash up before lunch that was cooked by our host. I can truly not describe how amazing the food was, during our entire Asian holiday, this was the best meal I’ve had. We went cycling around the farm, stopping by fish and pig farms and even sat with some locals along the way with David translating the conversations.

Before heading back to the hotel, we stopped by Stork Island for a boat ride. David managed to get us back to the hotel on time to have a shower before our next tour that evening.

We had a fantastic time, I highly recommend this tour with David as your guide.

Some things are not learned in a museum, or in a tourbook but they are best learned immersed in the culture. This Vietnam farm trip did just that. Spent my last day on the Vietnam farm trip with a friend and I am so happy that we found this tour! It was an absolutely beautiful and authentic experience.
Our tour guides Hung, and Jenny were incredibly knowledgeable about the village life and gave my friends and I an unforgettable day. We were warmly welcomed into the homestay home as family.
From farming in the rice fields, to riding a water buffalo and planting rice in traditional farming outfits we learned a great deal about the hard work that goes into growing rice - something so definitive of the Vietnamese culture.
After working in the farm field we were given a delicious authentic meal filled with traditional dishes made from fresh ingredients from the village.
We were shown around on bikes through the village where we then met some locals, who welcomed us strangers into their home as family, offering us tea and hanging out with their family.
My friends and I wished we found this tour earlier- as they do overnight stays in the homestay. They are halfway to Halong Bay from Hanoi and are a great must-do stop before making the journey to Halong Bay!
We were told that we could even volunteer to teach English to the local village children- wish we had the chance to stay longer to do so. We are so thankful that we were able to share this experience before leaving Vietnam!

Great experience at the beautiful homestay on a farm where we learned about the entire process of farming rice. From plowing and raking the land (personally) with a buffalo to planting new seedlings, to cutting and stripping the harvest-ready grains, the whole experience provides great insight into the effort that goes into producing the rice we consume everyday.
All this followed by an amazing lunch and then a nice little bike ride around the town to take in the authentic, simple lifestyle of the locals.
Definitely recommend if you have an day to spare in Hanoi.

As a farmer in the USA, this was the tour I looked forward to the most! David was friendly, and picked us up directly at our lodging. We drove to a small farming community, stopping at a market along the way. We were provided lunch, and refreshments throughout the day.

Planting the rice paddy and learning to drive the water buffalo were unforgettable. The temperature was 101F, but I was so euphoric, I never felt it. Lunch was delicious, and we rode bicycles through the farming community afterwards.

On the return trip to Hanoi, we took a boat ride around Stork Island. It was agreat experience for our entire family, ranging in ages 5-62.
