I chose Cuong's over other tour providers because he was the only one that offered an extended trip that would allow me to see so many different places in one adventure package. He sent me a detailed tour itinerary highlighting the places we would go as well as the routes for each day. I chose the 8 day 8 night package touring North Vietnam along the border with China.
My favorite part of the trip was driving through the small rural villages. Everywhere we went the kids would run up to the road to wave and smile at us as we passed by. The waterfalls, the lake and the views in the mountains were absolutely spectacular. Sadly, I lost my drone on a mountain at the Lake despite our best efforts to reconnect the signal. But that was my fault as a noob pilot. A couple of shots of rice whiskey and a day later, enjoying the ride was all I needed to get over it.
Cuong also tailored the trip to our skill level. Although I have been riding for over 35 years, my off-road experience is limited. We stayed off narrow trails, but with all of the road construction in the mountains, we had our share of mud, rocks, and streams to cross. And despite my experience, I still managed to have two accidents in one day due to the road conditions. But the bike was well maintained so we just picked it up, dusted off and continued on. I even got a flat tire way up in the mountains. If I had been riding solo I would have been in big trouble. But our mechanic pulled off my front wheel and replaced the tube and had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes.
The accommodations were a mixture of hotels and homestays. We were really out in the middle of nowhere so you have to take what is available. The homestays were more interesting to stay at, but as a westerner, the 3 inch mattresses at a couple of them can be difficult to sleep on.
As for the weather, our trip was in December so it does get quite cold up in the mountains. I brought a hoodie and a jacket to go over it, but I also wore a padded motorcycle jacket on top of both of those and I was still cold. Temperatures dropped down to about 40F degrees. The gloves I brought were too thin so I had to buy a pair up in the mountains. Most days were overcast but at least it did not rain. I did bring wet weather gear with me and I did wear the pants on cold days. They also kept my legs dry when driving through mud.
Cuong does have a large selection of padded motorcycle jackets and pants as well as heavier duty wet weather gear, gloves and boots. He also has helmets all though many of them have seen better days. I have a big head so I only found one helmet that fit me comfortably. I will definitely go back to Vietnam and book another tour with Cuong but I will probably find a way to bring my own helmet.

Just back from 12 day Vietnam/Laos Ho Chi Minh Trail ride. I have been on several of this type of tour, all of which were excellent, but Cuong's blows them out of the water! It exceeded all expectations massively, and I cannot fault it. We had 10 motorcycle riders from UK, NZ, and USA, and a couple in a Jeep, so fairly big party, ie a lot of organising/logistics, and everything was hitch free. Cuong and his staff, son Quang, Guide Phu, mechanics Diep and Tac, driver Ahn, and "Mrs Fix It" Yen all worked tirelessly from dawn till dusk to make the trip truely unforgettable. A mix of accomodation, best available in some very poor rural areas, some a bit iffy, up to downright luxury, which even well travelled Americans were impressed with. When there was no food available out in the sticks, "No Pwoblem"the team magicked up a BBQ in the Guest House yard, and another memorable evening was enjoyed. Riding was challenging, but very varied and enjoyable, and of course on a bike you can go places and have expriences with locals that mere "tourists" can never enjoy. All in all, a fabulous trip, and bear in mind, I have been riding a long time, been to lots of places, so I'm maybe not as easily impressed as somebody less travelled. This is another level, go and do it, you will not be disappointed!!!

If you want the best motorcycle tour company in Northern Vietnam then look no further. This is hands down the only company you should use. This is our second trip with Cuong's motorbike adventure tours. Both have been absolutely phenomenal. All you need to do is turn off your brain and ride as they look after every detail you can think of and the one's you didn't think of. Our first trip was lead by Cuong. He is amazing. This year we had his nephew Phu. He was also an excellent guide finding lots of off road trails for those in our group that wanted it. Yen works tirelessly to make sure all the details from accommodations, food, drinks and every thing in between is taken care of. Diep, our sweep rider was lightening fast at getting off his bike and coming to the rescue of those of us that needed it. We also had the support vehicle driven by Lap. So nice not to have to drag luggage around on my own. Just contact this company and book an adventure of a lifetime!

Nine of us enjoyed an excellent riding experience through Ha Giang province with Cuong's Motorbike Adventures. Mr Phu, the lead rider, was an excellent guide and managed the operation well. His English skills and sense of humour value-added the experience. Mr Tap, the sweep rider and mechanic was always attentive and fixed any mechanical problems quickly. Ms Yen, the hostess, arranged accommodation, meals, visits to interesting sites, etc, without a problem. Mr Anh, the support vehicle driver, looked after our luggage very well. The route took us through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world and over a variety of road surfaces including some challenging tracks but it was all worth it. The Honda CRF 250's were ideal machines for the ride and were well-serviced and fitted with new knobbly tyres. The whole operation was very well managed and thoroughly enjoyable.

My 3rd trip for very good reasons. Cuong and his staff have been creating memories for many years now. Great people that know how to put on amazing tours. Nothing is too hard. Their tour routes they select are second to none and the value for money is spot on. I have been on many tours and places around the world but tours organised by Cuongs Motorcyle Adventures far and away top my list. I will be back for my 4th trip soon enough.

Fantastic experience. Cuong and his crew always made sure that we were taken care of through the entire trip. We did the 6D/6N Northwest ride on CRF250s. The equipment is very good as well as the maintenance of the bikes. We were only five so we had to pay a bit extra for the support vehicle, but it was well worth the cost. All our gear was always waiting for us in the evening as well as cold drinks & beers. We had three people looking after us - Phu the guide, Tap the mechanic/tail man, and Zoy the support driver. And Phu tailored the ride for all riding levels. All three are fantastic guys that looked after us the whole time. We were nearly brothers by the end of the tour.
The accomodation and the food was good - you never go hungry or thirsty. It's good to note that the beds in Vietnam are very hard as a rule. If you don't sleep well on a hard matress, then I recommend taking a Thermarest or inflatable matress.
I highly recommend Cuong and his crew. And I hope to join them again in the future.

My 30 year old son and I were fortunate enough to take a motorbike adventure in Vietnam with Cuong's Motorbike Adventures. The entire experience from start to finish was beyond amazing. First of all, the owner Cuong himself was so cummunicative in helping us prepare for this trip of a lifetime. Especially for me, this was so reassuring as I had never traveled to anywhere like Vietnam before and had no idea what expect and no idea what i needed to do to even make this trip happen. Then there was the 3 day motorbike ride North and West into the mountains with our guide, Phu Duc. He by far was the most personable, knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging person, let alone professional guide and rider a motorbike adventure client could ask for. I can't say enough about him. Phu not only kept us informed of what to expect next on the ride and any upcoming challenges or hazards, he took the most amazing video and photos documenting our whole journey which I really appreciated and will in the many years ahead. Now, then there was the actual ride. We saw some of the most beautiful country, villages, and mountains in the world. We chose to stay with the local people and experience the Homestays. The hosts were beyond amazing. They were very humble, friendly, and welcoming and the Homestays themselves were incredible. The food the families pepared for us was a feast for a king and way more than we could ever eat. Lets just say I never left a meal hungry and there was always a large amount of food leftover. Cuong's gave my son and I a motorbike adventure of a lifetime that I will never forget. I can't thank you enough. If you evet get a chance to take a motorbike adventure with Cuong's, I would say don't psss it up, especially if your lucky enough to get Phu as your guide, then you must have won the lottery like we did.

Cuong you and your Team run a fantastic Tour what a Champion of a Bloke!
Considering there were 16 riders in our Party nothing was ever an issue even considering that our trip was faced with bad weather for 5 of the 7 days. The sights and country we covered over this week was simply breathtaking. It would have been nice to see a bit more of the landscape at times but it was still extreme playing conditions underneath the clouds with all types of terrain to cover and challenge us. For me it is a trip of a life time spent with good mates and adverse riding conditions. We all loved giving out the banter over beers from our spills and thrills!
I loved my week on the CRF300 so thank you for making this happen for us.

The best experience! I recently went on the Ha Giang Far North Motorbike Tour – 8D 8N - with my Dad, boyfriend and several friends, and we could not fault it. The staff were professional, it was safe and authentic. We plan to experience another of Cuong's adventures again. Thank you to the wonderful team :)!
