We booked a guidet 3-days-long tour and Krish was our tourguide.
Krish is a very good guide to explore delhi and the cities around. Perfect for local things. He showed ous his personal tips to visit and made the three days really perfect for us. Thanks for everything. We definetly recommend a tour with Krish.

I used Kim Travel for a short day trip from Saigon to My Tho and Ben Tre. The bus picked me up from my hotel over 2 hours late. We were then rushed from site to site in order to finish on time and we ended up back at our hotel an hour early. Not a relaxing trip at all!

As recommended by a friend of mind working in Hanoi . My wife and me did 3 hours walking street food excursion with Kim tours and a lovely tour guide - miss Hang and both of us were very happy with their services from beginning at her Office in Old quarter and finished at water puppet theater . We got many local information from our tour guide and ate too much local food that s so delicious with special tastes ,my wife and me won't regret tried all of them .
This must be done excursion if you will visit Hanoi !

Me and my boyfriend are just back from a one night/2 day Halong Bay tour. Where to start? An over crowed mini bus picked us up at our hotel and of to Halong Bay we went. There was a problem when we got on the boat, 3 people on the trip misheard instructions and didn't sign their names on a sheet of paper. instead of handling the situation professionally the tour guide started shouting and going crazy with them and told them they had to make their way back to Hanoi on a public bus. All this was blamed on "the government". eventually it was resolved and the boat pulled out from the harbor. On our Itinerary we were promised cooking lessons, fishing ad kayaking. we got 20 minutes of kayaking while the boat went to drop some passengers off at the near by pier but there was no cooking lessons or fishing. In the morning we were told to be up for breakfast at 8am. Breakfast consisted of 3 slices of white un-toasted very stale bread and one fried egg. As beautiful as Halong Bay is, we were very glad to get off the boat. When we arrived back to Halong we were taken to lunch, which was in a small cafe and we were served the exact same thing as we had the previous day for lunch. we then waited 2hours for our bus to come, which once again was very over crowed. we were no longer on the bus when we were told to get off again because the bus had a flat wheel. Trip was bad from start t finish, definitely would recommend going to see the beauty of Halong Bay but not with Kim Tours. do not fall for their cheaper prices!!what you see in the leaflet is definitely not what you get.

We have travelled extensively round the world and never experienced anything so bad. Kim Tours sells their tours to other tour guides who are not informed of what you have paid for, cant speak english adequately and fail to explain anything (ACS Tours in our case). Halong Bay trip is a complete con and having paid a high premium tour cost we were then asked to pay for kayaks which were included in what we have paid,Our 'guide' Thang (Tony) denied our 2 and 9 year old kids the kayak use and threatended to leave us all in the middle of the sea !! Transport was probably the oldest bus in Hanoi and barely airconditioned with broken seats and a top speed of 40kms. Crooks stay well clear of them.

We booked online for a day-trip to Halong Bay and were over-charged: U$39 per adult/U$30 per child when the shop window price list had U$15. The bus they used was in terrible condition - seats broken, A/C barely working. A 3.5 hour ride to Halong took 5 hours!! They had obviously overbooked so, the guide decided to use one of the seats for our children meaning that two of them were squeezed onto one seat even though we'd paid for each child. The boat cruise was supposed to be 4 hours but as we arrived late, they cut the cruise to 3.5 hours. We had paid to go kayaking but when we arrived at the spot, we were then asked to pay another VN20,000 per person. The 'tour guide' argued that it wasn't part of our package even though we showed him our receipt that itemised everything we had signed up for. We had asked for a guide who could speak English but ours could barely string 4 words together! The worst was that he kept saying 'I don't work for Kim Tours. Not my problem'. It was a total waste of our day and we were appalled at their lack of care to paying customers. When we did call Binh to fix the situation, he hung up on us.

TERRIBLE! I booked a trip to Ha Long Bay with my family to enjoy the sites. We were supposed to go to a cave, hike a bit, and kayak to a fishing village. We spent the day as a ferry boat, going to pick up people on an island and then dropping them back off at the island. We didn't do any of the promised activities. Not to mention, we when arrived at the dock our group spent nearly 2 HOURS sitting, while "Kim Tours" tried to sort everyone out. It was horrible. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

My experience with Kim Tours was awful - with the trip to Halong Bay a complete disaster (as discussed in the review below).

Unfortunately, the previous day in Sapa was also "taken care of" by Kim Tours.

We had organised a jeep to take us on a drive to view the terraces around Sapa and visit the local villages before doing a 2 km walk to meet some other tribes, view the handicrafts as well as lunch.

Well, there was no jeep - we were told that it would be a 12 - yes, TWELVE - kilometre hike across some pretty rugged terrain. We had a 2 - yes, TWO - year old baby with us so who on earth would have made a mistake like this? As a result baby and father had to stay at the hotel and miss out on the day's tour.

Overall, the hike was very good - but the guide did not offer any explanations as to what we were seeing - choosing to walk ahead most of the time with another Sapa villager. She was willing to answer questions when asked though.

I spoke to Binh about this mix up very calmly and he immediately started shouting at me and eventually hung up - saying that if we wanted a jeep, we should have called him.

Based on the Sapa experience, I tried to cancel Halong Bay but was told it was impossible. So rather than forfeit the $US138 we had paid, I decided to make a go of it. Ooops.

In addition to what is mentioned below by Cassandra about the Halong bay trip, I think the following points are also noteworthy:

- The 'lunch' at Halong Bay was awful: served at 2pm and consisted of steamed fish, scrambled egg, a plate of steamed cabbage, a few spring rolls, steamed rice and a plate of peanuts. It was all stone cold and offered very little for the vegetarians on the cruise who were promised suitable food (cabbage, egg, rice and peanuts is hardly a meal). I ate nothing.

- At the sea kayak, a very vocal exchange took place with several tourists getting involved. Someone from the kayaking company (I'm guessing) actually made a threatening gesture towards my wife as though he was going to hit her with a pith helmet. I stepped in and at 6 ft 2 was a little intimidating for the 5 ft assailant.

- Our guide provided no communication at any point apart from pointing out the attractions on the itinerary, After the heated discussion at the kayaks, he was a bit stressed so rather than try to deal with the situation, he had a cup of tea and smoked a 'bong' (pictures attached)

- We lost a person at the cave and our guide insisted that everyone was on board. The German guy who was travelling with the missing person pointed out his friend was not back and we waited. Otherwise, I am sure we would have left without him - our guide insisted he had 'counted'. Perhaps it was the bong?

- I do not know of anybody on the cruise / bus ride who was happy with the deal they received and I spoke to most.

- Rather than deal with the bus ride home on the same unroadworthy vehicle, our group of 8 chose to hire our own taxi back to Hanoi which cost $US100

Halong Bay was a waste of a day as far as I am concerned.

I have been informed that Kim Tours refunded 50% of the total cost of Halong Bay asking us not to post to social media. Unfortunately, I had already typed this before I found out and was not going to let it go to waste.

Nov. 26.2015: One day trip to Tam Coc from Hanoi. Pick up from the hotel was much delayed by about 45 min. A small bus, very old, extremely overbooked, people sitting on the emergency seats. Additionally lots of suitcases and lockage, blocking the exit. In case of an accident nobody would get out of the bus, as the doors could only be opened after removing about 7 big pieces of luggage.
At TamCoc it turned out that in the bus had been several other groups which booked a complete other tour. It was not a good situation, when they realized that they are on the wrong trip, and they have to stay half a day more with a group doing other things as they had booked.
The guide had no idea what he showed the group, the ancient capital was ok, but he was unable to explain any details.
Lunch was very basic, but you should not expect to much from such a tour.
The announced bicycle ride was ok, but very short (about 1 km and retour) to a small temple. Again the guide did not even know what religion this temple was for.
The boot trip was fine and we enjoyed, as at this stage the Kimtour guides were absent and they could not do so much nonsense as the 6 hours before.
Going back (scheduled for 2 h) it took much much longer, as the bus picked up several people in several places from several other tours, and again the bus was completely overcrowed.
Pick up at the hotel did not work, as the bus driver and the famous guide just throw the guest out far away from the hotels and told them to take a taxe.
#I did a similar tour last year from Hanoi but with a different agency which was phantasmic. But Kimtours is just a joke. Never again! PLease note that I am travel a lot in developing countries by business and for holidays. I have no to big expectations, but this trip was not worth any time to spend.
