About
The emphasis is on seasonal traditional food which both tastes and looks delicious but is simple to prepare and recreate at home. For a warm and fun ambiance, participants cook all together with our Chef but everyone has their own material and ingredients for a better understanding of cooking techniques. You will use Vietnamese kitchenware to cook and enjoy a tasty 3 courses meal. To end on a sweet touch, we will take care to complete this meal with a delicious seasonal dessert.

Excellent authentic Vietnamese cooking class
We were fortunate to have had several delicious meals prepared by Chef Tuan that when we found out he was teaching classes, we signed up immediately. It is a hands on cooking class but you can choose to just watch and take notes or film the session. My sister-in-law wanted to learn to make a mango salad, my brother wanted to learn how to cook Banh Xeo and I wanted to learn to cook a southern dish called La Vong fish. We got to shop for the ingredients at a local market where everything is fresh contributing to the powerful aromatic scents and flavors. We got to sit down and enjoy our super delicious dishes with a nice glass of wine overlooking the city. Thank you Chef Tuan!

Tasty food, hasty cooking
This was our third cooking class in Southeast Asia.
We chose our dishes and took a taxi to the market. Then we started cooking in the restaurant's kitchen. We were the only two people in today's class.
We cooked four dishes (a mushroom soup, pho, tofu with tomato sauce and fresh spring rolls). The food was really good and tasty, we ate it in the restaurant on the tenth floor with an extraordinary view. The chef and the staff were very nice.
We can only give three points for the course because compared to the other cooking classes we almost didn't cook anything by ourselves. There were no print outs of the recipes, so one of us had to write down everything while the other one was watching (once in a while cutting some vegetables). Some of the cooking was done "behind our backs" by the souchef and only explained to us after specifically asking. The whole thing felt a little rushed, it took exactly two hours from our arrival to choose the dishes, visit the market and cook everything.
For 35 $ each we expected a little more time and hands on cooking.

perfect experience for vietnam food
went to the local market to buy everything we need to cook bun cha, chicken soup and fried spring rolls. The food was really delicious but we couldn't eat all of it, because we cooked to much :D It was fun and nice to know how to do it.

Great fun!
Jun 2014 • Couples
We read a few reviews on TA and fancied taking a cooking class. We rocked up to the hotel where this is based at around 11am on the off chance that they would be running a course that day. The receptionist was extremely helpful and booked us in to a course for that afternoon.
The class was great fun, just the two of us plus the chef. We took a taxi to a local food market and watched the chef buy all of the ingredients for our class.
We then took the class which was great fun! To top it off we got to eat all what we'd made in the restaurant!
The course was $35 USD each but included taxi to and from the market and a taxi back to our hotel.

Excellent experience of the Vietnamese kitchen
We had a wonderful afternoon were we first of all went to a local market to buy all of our ingredients for our three dish menu. Afterwards we headed back to the kitchen (in a very good hotel) and met the staff. We prepared everything our selves with a lot guidance of the chef and the staff.

Afterwards we enjoyed everything at the rooftop restaurant.

To sum up: it was a very good experience.

Reasons to book this course
Apr 2014 • Family
1. really small group - we were just 1 family, the maximum size is 8 (only course I found like this)
2. cook in the restaurant's kitchen - because such a small group get experience of using a commercial kitchen (other courses run on tables in restaurant or a school environment)
3. you can choose what you cook - the menu was based on my children's requests
4. market tour - going round the market was amazing and it was good to be in a small group
5. delicious food - and loads of it
6. lovely chef - his English is good and he is a really nice, gentle man.
7. child friendly - we have 3 young boys, one of who is autistic and was a little tricky from time to time - the chef was so good with them.
8. nice restaurant - it is on the top floor of a hotel in the old quarter so when we ate the food we had fabulous views.
9. in the afternoon 2 - 5pm - a lot of the other courses are in the morning but we wanted to do something after we had checked out of our hotel and before we caught the night train

Spend memorable holiday
Nov 2013 • Couples
To be honest, I'd not normally think of wanting to spend a day of my holiday in a kitchen! But wow - this visit to Cherry cooking class was something else. What a privilege to be welcomed into their kitchen with fun, laughter, learning secrets of cooking the Vietnamese way and sampling delicious little appetisers along the way! Most highly recommended!

Amazing experience

I can warmly recommend this mini course. It’s an authentic experience where you get the chance to cook from scratch. To just visit a Vietnamese place, it’s an experience in itself and then eating lunch together it’s like getting a taste of their real lifestyle. We got a very good value for money and certainly some great memories that we’ll remember forever. Amazing experience and I am very happy we decided to give it a try. I really recommend it.

Great class

I had two sessions with them and both were great - lots of extras that they pampered us with! Useful tips and all the teachers experiences are shared with us openly. They are very friendly too. For those wondering how it's done, this is a great intro to Vietnamese cooking.

I thought this was a very fun experience overall, it's like you're learning in the kitchen of someone's house. It's a warm, friendly environment. Everyone is able to actually cook instead of watching the chef make a dish for you like some classes. The food is awesome, you learn a lot, and they keep it fun.
