It uses different way to show the traditional Vietnamese activities and festivals such as in drama , dancing, musical etc... It makes the show more interesting. There is also providing a translation in English in a specific screen for those people who can't understand the Vietnamese. The show is around 1 hour only and it is a good way for us to have a quick look on the traditional Vietnamese if we do not have much time=)

I am a VietNamese but i haven't knowed know much about some kinds of VietNam's traditional art performance! By chance, one day, i and my grandmother , when we were having a walk on Hoàn Kiếm Lake's side, we met 2 girls wear traditional costume , they are Golden Bell Theater's staff, and they introduced about Golden Bell show on Saturday night at 72 Hang Bac street! My grandmother was really excited about that introductory , so we took GBS leaflet. In the next Saturday, our family came GBT and intended to buy 5 tickets, but finally, we were discounted and got a free slot for my 5 -years old -brother ! We were deep in amazing folk music and the traditional space at here!! in addition, GB theater is in walking street and it's also very near Ta Hien street- the most famous food -street in Ha Noi, so we could have some meals after that, a convenient way to enjoy both traditional art and speicial dishes !! :)

Great entertainment in a small theatre that gives you a closeness you won't get in other larger productions. Translation projected onto screen on either side of the stage.
Girls that sell tickets in front the theatre are a delight to speak with and a source of information about their city.

All the cultural folk art from North to South of Viet Nam is all gather here.
I was invited by my friend and I enjoyed every moment of it. I am just a teenage and I had never experience such a show that helped me to improve so much knowlegde about my country's culture.
The female dancers are pretty, I like them a lot.
The final performance ( flute dance ) made me feel like I was on heaven with faries and relaxing sound.
You should really visit it if you have time ( just for 1hr )

We thoroughly enjoyed this show - you are lead on a journey through many areas of Vietnam of music, song, dance and even a simultaneously translated play. It was really fabulous! The performers were excellent across the board and seemed to be very much enjoying entertaining us. The costumes, range of music sung and instruments played was very special. The play - and translation - offered a deepened appreciation of the values of Vietnamese people. The final performance which reflect the modern blended with ancient values was especially touching! You are able to get your picture taken with the cast at the end (for no cost). They even have photographers if you did not bring your camera (at a cost). The production only occurs on Saturday nights 8-9pm. Don't miss out on this gem!

To whom it may concern,
i come from HK and I visited Vietnam recently.
My friends and I not only watched the water puppet show, but also the golden bell show in the trip. The golden bell show has its own characteristic and provide good information about Vietnam.
The songs, dance and drama in the show are great and the MC English speaking also fluent and easy to understand.
I want to thank my friend(Yen) suggested us to watch this show and I believe it is very worth to watch it with the relatively resonable price.
超級黃金腰帶表演,
.我今年暑假去左越南.
這個表演是朋友介紹的.
內容都是有關越南幾個不同民族的傳統表演.
有唱歌,戲劇, 打鼓等等.
值得一看.=]

I live in Hanoi and have been in Viet Nam for just over 18 months. I heard about the show here on Trip Advisor. I actually saw there big sign on the street, but it is entirely in Vietnamese and my person who translates for me, when I asked when the show is, told me it is not there! Well, intrigued further, I went to their web site and could not find the time for the show, only the day! I called them and someone returned my call and told me the time and that the time changes every now and them.mi told her about the web site and how it really needs this information. She actually thanked me AND offered me a free ticket (130.000 VND, about $6.50 US). I, reluctantly, accepted.
I went there about 20 minutes early. My ticket was there. This evening there were many more people than has been reported here on TA, making a great audience for the show. They present 8 performances of various ethic groups around Viet Nam with music, dancing and singing. This was soooo impressive. I notice that many people do not smile or laugh while performing in Viet Nam. These people were actually happy, smiling and truly enjoying their craft.
I cried during the song of the beggar and the blind man. It is so touching, reminiscent of the kindly bishop of Digne, M. Myriel, who helped Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, saving him from arrest, allowing him to keep and to take more booty, and making him promise to live a good life. The music and presentation were superbly done. Yes, I laughed and smiled a lot as well throughout the other 7 songs and dances.
They also invited members of the audience to join in trying the bamboo dance with its 3/4 time rhythm. I have vertigo and it was hard for me to try on my own, so some of the performers helped me. Fortunately, those clapping the bamboo together on the third beat, stopped when I could not make it. There was applause all around when I made it through, in proper rhythm and time. They are so nice.
I STRONGLY recommend this show as it is truly spectacular!

I really enjoy the Golden Bell Show. It brings the whole culture of Vietnam in my eye.
It is a nice place to go in weekends since the atmosphere is so warm and friendly. You are also supported in booking and interpretation.
Although Golden Bell Show is not really popular in Hanoi, it will soon be thanks to the wonderful performances in the show.

It was lucky that I have been invited to this show. It was really a typical show designed for foreigner to understand more about Vietnam's culture than just water puppet show.
