Getting away from the big and very bustling city, we had scheduled this day tour to Ninh Binh Province or the "inland Halong Bay".
We were picked up from our hotel by Quy, an accent free, English speaking young man, who proved to be a delightful companion for the day.
The tour included a 2,5 hour drive to the Bihn Province where we then were fitted with bicycles and began our journey through old fishing villages and rice patties. We were then put in a row boat and spend at least an hour on a very quiet river, passing through 3 caves. We encounter 3 other boats on the water. What a peaceful and beautiful float!
Returning to shore, we biked back into the village and had a 4 or 5 course lunch at one of the local restaurants. All the while Quy shared with us the history of the area, his story and the story of Zoom and Zoom Zoom tours.
After lunch we went to the "Dancing Cave" and took a hike up to the top of small mountain, where we had a breathtaking view of this beautiful province.
The philosophy of this small touring company is to give their customers a personal experience outside the throngs of tourists in the area. Quy was a wonderful guide and treated all the locals with the utmost kindness and respect. We felt quite fortunate to happen upon this tour and the ability to fit it into our schedule.
I will be back and I will have Zoom Zoom tours plan my next Vietnam activities!
Thank you Quy for sharing your story!

We were in Hanoi during the TET holiday which made it an additional challenge for Zoom, Zoom. Everything (museums, stores, most restaurants and sites) except the temples are closed during the holiday, that includes restaurants. Zoom, Zoom was up to the challenge. She walked us around the city pointing out the sites and took us to several temples without overdoing it. She knows Hanoi very well and is enthusiastic in sharing her knowledge of the city.i And of significance, she took us to a very nice restaurant, one of the very few open during the holiday and where she had called in advance and we were expected .

In addition to her excellent guidance we were privy to Zoom Zoom's delightful personality. She is a pleasure to be with.

Dear Uria, First review you have ever done I can see!:) Thank you very much for your kind words! I am very glad that things worked out well and we were able to change the tickets for your without any additional charge. Have a wonderful time in Sapa which I've heard from others the weather is beautiful there to compare to gloomy Hanoi. Cheers, Zoom,

I hesitated to write this negative review, but since this was the worst day of my two weeks in Vietnam, I decided I had to do it. I researched day trips and tour companies a lot before going, and decided on a particular bike trip and chose Zoom. So I was very confused and perturbed when, after getting to the bike rental shop, she informs me that she would rather do something different.

Her alternative plan was not of interest to me. I said I wanted to stick to the original plan. We went back and forth. I was at a disadvantage, since she knew the area and it was hard for me to understand what she was suggesting instead. When we set off, I still wasn't sure what we were doing.

We biked to an island in the Red River. I am not a mountain biker -- I am in good shape and can bike a good distance, but give me a path with ruts, rocks and sand and I do not do well. We encountered a pack of dogs who chased us -- and next thing I know, I've been bitten by a dog! Within minutes we encountered more dogs. In trying to pass them on the rutted, sandy path, my bike slipped, I fell and wrenched my ankle badly.

That ended the bike trip. Zoom took me to a medical clinic, where a Vietnamese-speaking doc said I was fine (I later went to to an English speaking doctor and got the rabies series). We went to the flower market, which was interesting. And she didn't charge me for her services (although I did have to pay expenses).

What I'm angry about is that she changed the day's plan at the last minute, for no good reason. I'm angry because the alternate was boring, and I never got to go to the original site. It was a wasted day (especially since I spent the afternoon in my hotel with my ankle elevated and iced).

Zoom is friendly, knowledgeable, and speaks English well. But she's pretty inflexible once her mind is made up. Just make sure that you establish a plan and stick to your guns. And I certainly don't recommend biking on that island.

I finally found the way to reply my guests’ review from tripadvisor. I appreciate it very much that you took your time to write a review about Zoom Zoom on tripadvisor. However, as reading your review, I have to say the information in there was not accurate. And I would like to add more details about the trip in here so others would view it from another perspective. As you have read from other reviews on tripadvisor and decided to choose my services, Zoom Zoom is very private and personalized. From the bottom of your heart, you would know I have done the best I could do for your day tour. The minimum guests of each Zoom Zoom’s trip are 2 guests, however, I made an exceptional to travel with only you on that tour with the same price normally I charge other people. I did everything to please you at the most professional way and at the most generous well being could do for anyone. Unfortunately, bad thing happened to you, and none of us never would want that happened, but I have done all of the other things that I could do so you could make the most out of your trip, giving you other experiences. It makes me very sad to read all of the things you have wrote in here without any appreciation and understanding and wrong information and I think it’s is not fair if the readers only know one side of the story. Therefore, I hope tripadvisor would kindly allow me to write some more details here to make things clearer. First of all, please, understand that I have never changed our original plan at all after all. When you first contacted me, and after a few emails and a couple options I gave you, you decided to book me going to Co Loa Citadel. And in the program of this route, the middle island along the Red River is included as you can read clearly from my website. As soon as I met you in person, after letting you trying a mountain bike as other travelers always do with me on bike trips, I felt right away that you couldn't handle the route, therefore, I gave you an option to change the plan to cycle to the flower market and the Urban of Hanoi since it was during the time we prepare for Tet holiday and it could be exciting and unique experience to experience all of these activities. I also told you briefly how the original route would be like. However, you didn't want to do so and wanted to stick with the itinerary. Because you were my guest and I had to respect your decision, so we stick with the original plan you wanted to do. As for the rabies series, I would like to state that you did not have any broken skin at the time the incident happened because I was there with you. I was very responsible that I decided to take you back after you fell down from your bike by yourself in a very slow cycling speed. I took you to a private hospital because I knew it was much better than the public ones and I would like to make sure you were ok. The doctor said the same thing that the skin wasn’t broken, therefore, you couldn’t get rabies. After that we followed the doctor advise to go and wash that small pink area of your right leg. To tell you how things work in Vietnam, of course those people from that expensive hospital you went later wanted to protect themselves not wanting to deal with foreigners who maybe turn around and suit them. It is no problem for them to say you had rabies because it's only good for them that they get the money from the shot or medicine and give peace in your mind. I was very flexible enough to drive you everywhere on a motorbike instead after the hospital visit. We went to the Tet flower market, the area around West Lake and a couple of beautiful gardens An Duong area. Then, I took you to a local lunch place so you can experience the best local dish in Hanoi called Bun Cha. I was very concern of the whole thing happened to you as you could see from the whole time I was with you to try to please you and to provide you the best and the most personal services even though unexpected bad luck happened to you. As for the expense you paid for your bicycle and for the food you ate for lunch, I had done everything for you all day as the nicest well being would to any other well being and I decided not charging you my services but those were your expenses and it was just more and less $12. All other guests who have been to this route with me only have an amazing experience and they love it so much how they can find a peaceful area in the middle of Hanoi where there is so lush green. I hope that you would kindly think about it all over again deeply from the beginning of the day to the last minute you say good bye to me to make a judgment whether I am that bad that you have to do this. I'm very sad that all of the things I have done for you as professional as it could be and treated you wonderfully like a very nice well being to someone who I have never met before in my life. But it turns out to be this way. Kindly Regards, Zoom,

I'm sure these tours are fantastic as reviewed by other customers, however we were not given the opportunity to experience it first hand. I made email contact with Zoom to book our family in for a morning tour in the countryside. I detailed what we wanted to experience on the tour and provided our hotel details for pick up. She replied and said she was available but was out of town and would email later that night with the set itinerary. The morning email also stated she had tour requests from other customers but refused them as she had accepted our request. This clearly indicated to me our booking was confirmed. Given that our family went out to dinner and upon returning to our hotel checked our email. I reconfirmed details. Moments later I got a reply stating another group had been booked in as I had not replied earlier. I could not believe it. This was the poorest customer service we experienced on our entire Vietnam trip. Perhaps she could have stated a time when her night email would be sent or advised me to sit beside my laptop in the hotel waiting to ensure we didn't miss out. Very disappointed!

Dear Paula and Andrew, Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review here about your experience with Zoom Zoom. Sadly it was not a positive experience for you and as I cannot go back and fix the misunderstanding we had, I will try to address the issues you raise in my reply. Your feedback is valuable to me and will help me improve the quality of my business, especially when trying to arrange a tour for people at the last minute. Firstly, I am genuinely sorry for not managing to take you on the tour that you requested. I have carefully read through our email thread over the 24 hours from the time of your first contact and I can see a misunderstanding between us about whether the tour had been confirmed or not. When I sent you the proposed meeting time and then later the itinerary I was expecting a reply from you to confirm that we were definitely going ahead. When the time had passed to less than 12 hours before the start of the tour, I had to make a decision based on the contact I had received back from customers wanting my services the following day. It was unfortunate timing that your reply came only minutes after I had made that decision and I was then unable to change and do the tour for your family. I try very hard to give people special travel experiences that are personalized and meaningful, and this requires thought and planning for each one. Good communication beforehand is important if I am to achieve this and sadly time pressure and a misunderstanding between us resulted in me disappointing you. I hope your family has many happy travel experiences and I am happy to communicate further with you about any of this if you wish to email me directly. Yours sincerely Zoom

We were humming and hawing over motorbiking to Sapa or northern Vietnam and had sussed out various companies and were still unsure what to do or where to go. When we met Zoom, we knew straight away that she was the guide we wanted, she made out a route that we wanted and advised us on where to go and what to see. She was so enthusiastic, friendly and charming. Everything was sorted for the 4 day trip, bikes, Accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday, permits for entry to the ha giang region, toys, clothes, books and sweets for the countless local children we met along the route! She even gave the 4 of us a local Hmong scarf each!

Firstly: Do this trip if you are in Vietnam.

Secondly: Bring Zoom as your guide!!

We saw the real Vietnam and the real people and the most amazing scenery I've ever seen. Riding through mountains in the clouds one minute, with giant Karst rock towering around you from all angles, to rising through beautiful rice fields the next and then weaving through big wide open valleys with flowing blue rivers by your side! Meeting local ethnic tribes and the most adorable kids was another amazing aspects of the trip. Giving them food, clothes, books and toys along the way also felt like we were making some difference to their lives, albeit a very small difference. Seeing the
smiles and laughs of the locals kids and families would brighten anybodies day! A few mishaps along the way we're dealt with perfectly by Zoom, as one of us got a bad fever and couldn't continue in the bike so she got him a lovely hotel room, medicine and all he needed for the 24 hours while we rode on and met him again the next day when we returned and he was better!! Gwan Christy!!

It was once in a lifetime experience and was the coolest thing in Vietnam we did by far! Zoom is an absolute legend of a woman and this trip is a must for anyone looking to experience the real Vietnam!

I will upload some pics now too for anyone to look at!

Lots of love from 4 Crazy Irish guys, Mikey, Patrick, Declan and Seamus! The Christy crew... OF COUURSE!

I spent two nights at the fantastic Treehouse with Ms Zoom. She has done an amazing job with the place, every detail has had real thought put into and the hospitality from Ms Zoom is a rare find. I stayed in the mixed dorm for two nights, the bed was made up beautifully when I arrived and the beds were extremely comfortable. Zoom was a fantastic host throughout my stay, cooking up awesome food each day with local and organic produce. She is a great cook. The grounds act as a secret garden hidden upon a hilltop in the very scenic Pu Luong area. There are rice paddies either side with amazing views from the garden. On my 2nd day she took me out on a motorbike ride just outside of Pu Luong, taking you through rural villages and epic scenery. The destination was a boat ride on the River Ma to a hidden waterfall. Overall, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had at an accommodation after spending 7 months traveling throughout South East Asia. I can’t recommend the place enough! Thank you Ms Zoom and good luck with the remaining build of private villas 🙂

I've booked through Wild Trips for a 5D4N trip to Hanoi, as we want to let the our kids (2.5 & 4.5 year old) to have a taste of the countryside and experience things that are different from our usual lifestyle. We had Zoom with us for 3D2N Cooking and Cycling Trip.

For the cooking class with Zoom, our whole family of four went to the local market together with her and her assistant, Hien. The kids even bought fruits for us, and thereafter, everyone prepared and enjoyed the yummy and sumptuous dinner together. The kids (and parents of course) enjoyed themselves a lot and we were proud that they managed to wrap the Vietnamese spring rolls for us! Zoom also taught us some commonly used Vietnamese words like Hello! and Thank you!, and this proved to be very useful and great ice-breakers with the locals.

The next 2 days were spent at Ninh Binh, cycling and walking around the less touristy areas. The view was awesome and the kids just loved being on the bicycles and taking in the sights and the sounds. We had an amazing boat ride to the limestone caves with bats. Everywhere we went, Zoom would be talking to the locals and sharing with us more about their stories, which we definitely will not know we didn't have her as a guide!

We felt the sincerity and passion from Zoom. She made sure our needs were met and was very accommodating and most obliging to our requests. My kids adore her too! Thanks for everything, Zoom! =)

Many of we're in town for a business meeting. A few of us decided to spend a little extra time in Hanoi to see the sites. See the sites we did.

Zoom and her assisting could not have given is a better sense of Vietnam if we had a week. We met her at the bike shop and after her guiding is safely throught the city streets, not an easy task, we quickly entered farmland. Zoom arranged for us to stop and have tea and freshly ripened bananas with a local farmer before moving on throught the country side.
It was a very hot day and Zoom made sure we had plenty of ret stops and plenty of drinks. Lunch and drinks were included in the fee and she never hesitated to purchase more.
Both guides were very knowledgable and no questions were off limits. I can not tell you how much all 7 of us enjoyed the trip. On business you quite often have the opportunity to go to places all over the wod but it can sometimes be difficult to stay on and see some of the country. This was one trip that was 100% worthwhile we learned a lot about Vietnam saw beautiful scenery and shared an experience with our colleagues that we will remember for ever.
Thanks Zoom

We have had a great experience with Zoom. She brought us to the Puluong nature reserve for a 3 days trip with a stay at her Puluong Treehouse brand new guesthouse. It was an authentic experience off the beaten paths, exactly what we needed after 3 days in the noisy and busy Hanoi. We discovered an amazing place, met new people and were able to adapt the stay to our exact wishes thanks to her great reactivity and organization. On the menu: local market, motorbike tour, boat tour(s), hikes and delicious vietnamese food. We highly recommend.
