We met Hien and Tu promptly at our Hotel just south of the Old Quarter. Hien was the experienced hand, Tu was in training. We thought they were both just wonderful. The first meal we had was the famous Bun Cha (didn't know it was a famous Hanoi dish until we ate it and heard about it from Hien). Great little restaurant, upstairs, little chairs, sharing Bun Cha. Loved it. Then we went onto another restaurant for slightly different, spring rolls and other assorted dishes. Then we went to the back of this little place, not really a restaurant in the true sense of the word, but the deserts were just awesome. I ate so many I couldn't move and I was full before we got there. We went past the big church with the Xmas tree and took photos. Hien and Tu also happily shared their stories and told us about temple etiquette, how the streets are named in Hanoi, just lots of great little facts. We all just had the best night. If you have an open mind, eat most things and happy to dive in, just book these guys. It gives you confidence in approaching the city so I'd do it on your first day as we did. Thankyou Hien and Tu.
