What an amazing experience we had with Paloma Cruises. There staff were amazing, especially 'Morning'. He was the most hospitable, generous and attentive staff member on the cruise. The food was incredible and plentiful. The cocktails were delicious. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and restful. The activities were tons of fun and the sightseeing was mind-blowing! Two nights on board are a definite must. We were treated like royalty and would definitely recommend this cruise company to everyone.

Hi,
We had planned for a tour to Vietnam and booked flight tickets well in advance. We had around 2 months to do bookings and Halong Bay cruise was in our main agenda. When I did some study over internet, I was quite confused when I checked reviews about various cruises and various parameters one has to check before booking. I looked at various booking sites and felt like the prices were very high with incomplete itenary information. I thought that the best way would be go to Hanoi and look for some deals. I wanted to avoid tour agents or reaching out to Hotel for help as I know that they would have there own share. I also explored by writing directly to cruise companies hoping someone would respond and this worked. I could get a proper quote from a sales person of Paloma cruise was offered around 50% of the price published in varous booking sites. He could give me a best offer as I approached him directly.
My experience with this sales person was very nice, he used to provide me all requested information about the trip. We exchanged several mails . And I finally booked the tickets via a booking link he had sent.
I got lot of information and good experience after the trip and would like to share information thru this review.
The tour via Paloma Cruise to Bai tu long Bay:
Halong Bay and Bai tu long Bay.. Both are different destinations. They are different provinces and I heard that the corresponding taxes of operations are different. There are only 5% of cruises that go to Bai Tu Long Bay. These trips are quite expensive and most of the travelers are foreigners. Since, this place has less visitors this place is relatively less crowded.
Duration of trip:
I was on a 2 nights and 3 days trip. I have seen passengers who were getting off on day 2 morning. And new members joining us on the 2nd day. I believe 1 night is too short duration for such a fantastic trip. One should plan for 2 nights.
Most of the people may not know that the ship returns to the bay for pickup and drop of tourist every morning when the 2 nights stay people go for a tour on another boat on 2nd day morning. When we return back we could meet another batch of tourists.
Room with Balcony in Paloma Cruise: Only few rooms have balconies in the cruises. The prices of these are higher by 30% and most of the times these are occupied by a family of 3 or 4. If you could afford it or get this it is a luxury. This is the best part of the Paloma Cruise and you would love it.
Just incase you dont take a room with a balcony, still it is fine. As all of us get access to the terrace and should be no problem. Half the terrace is covered and was a good place for partying.
Various spots we get to visit:
Paloma cruise takes us to two most important caves, one beach for swimming, An hour or so for Kayaking and floating village etc.
Pickup and Drop:
From Hanoi to Halong bay Paloma cruise companies arrange luxury limousine. The road was good and the 4 hrs journey was quite comfortable with one break for breakfast on our way. When I traveled the van was a luxury one with push back seats.
Service:
My experience was very good in this aspect. The cruise company are striving to make sure that they get good reviews. The staff is very polite, hardworking and are doing their best to speak english and always have a smile. The local people by nature are very nice and friendly. The guide 'Morning' was very helpful. He speaks perfect english. He impressed us all.
Overall, my experience was very good and memorable one. Hope this review helps you to plan your trip.

A very nice cruise with wonderful staff! We recommend to stay for 2 nights to get the full experience and to be able to swim in the beautiful bays! The rooms are very clean and spacious. The food is as well excellent, my mother and I didn’t eat meat and they catered perfectly to our wishes. We actually had the best food here from whole vietnam. The staff is also very kind, we especially enjoyed the happy hour with the bartender Mr Linh and our tourguide Mr (Mor)Ning!

Fantastic cruise with amazing staff. The activities were really fun and incredibly smooth - everything was planned well and organised. The food on the boat was some of the nicest we have had on our trip. The boat was good and well equipped. The staff really made our trip memorable - they were incredible! Every single member was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Some of our highlights were sitting chatting to the staff in the evenings. In particular Morning was so friendly and always made us smile, and Flower had us crying with laughter! Would definitely come back and recommend.

Finding a good tour operator is like looking for a needle in haystack. But our decision to go with Asia Eyes was the best, the main reason was the person we connected with from our early search. Alice Nguyen is one of the most responsive tour operators we have ever found, every email and whats app message we sent was responded within 2-12hrs depending on time difference. We had 1000's of questions and she patiently worked with us on everything without ever getting frustrated or annoyed.
The day we were leaving she came over to meet us in person to ensure we were happy and satisfied throughout our trip.
I would highly recommend anyone planning to visit vietnam or use them. We would certainly use them for our future Asia adventures.

Three of us celebrated Christmas cruising in Ha Long Bay with Paloma Cruises. It was the right amount of relaxing and activity options. The staff were all very gracious, always smiling and happy to work their English while chatting and cracking a joke—like Tung, the bartender.
Santa Claus made an appearance on the 24th during the special dinner.
Not sure this is a negative, but there’s a lot of food. Meals have multiple courses—dinners were up to 11/12 of them—mixing multiple seafood and meats. We couldn’t eat it all, and felt badly having to waste it.
All in all it was a memorable Christmas that we won’t forget!

The hotels provided in Luang prabang and Siem Reap are not of acceptable standard. Please search for better alternate hotels for customer satisfaction.
