If you are planning on visiting Vietnam then I can highly recommend using the services of Indochina Voyages. We had the pleasure of working together with Minh Vu to plan a two week family adventure holiday in Vietnam, and ended up having the best holiday we have ever had (and we have travelled a lot as a family in Europe and the US so that is praise indeed!). From the first email contact to meeting us personally on our arrival in Hanoi, Minh was amazing. He quickly understood what we were after, came up with a fantastic itinerary, and tailored and fine-tuned our holiday so that the two-weeks exceeded all our expectations. The hotels he booked for us were wonderful, and even though our budget only extended to 3 and 4 star establishments we were amazed by the standard and service level at all the hotels. The private tours and excursions he organized were interesting, informative and great fun, and really provided us with an insight into the real Vietnam. I feel that we got so much out of our two weeks, visiting Hanoi, Mai Chau, Pu Luong, Ninh Binh, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Saigon, Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc. Everything went according to plan, the drivers and guides were excellent, and if we needed any additional advice and tips Minh was available 24/7 via Whatsapp. I have never used a tour operator before, preferring to plan our holidays myself, but felt that when travelling to Asia for the first time with three children it would be prudent to have some local assistance. All I can say is that I am so glad that Minh and Indochina Voyages were recommended to me – first class service and great value for money. Thank you Minh!

I can highly recommend Indochina Voyages! We just came back from a 20-day custom designed Vietnam and Cambodia trip that was well organized and stress free.
Originally, I started looking at small group tours. I found them very expensive and many used an overnight train from Hanoi to Hue (not for me). In researching I kept finding people that used Indochina Voyages for private tours and spoke highly of them. I decided to email them with my dates and places that I wanted to see. The reply was prompt and they worked with me to plan a trip that included a Halon Bay cruise and a 3-night Mekong river cruise.
After deciding on an itinerary and hotel style, we were given a price in US dollars. It included a private guide and driver who met us at every airport, hotels that included breakfast, tours, cruises, inter country flights etc. This was just perfect for a first-time visit. The entire trip went as planned and Daniel from Indochina Voyages contacted us numerous times during our tour to make sure we were happy. He even made a point of meeting us in Hanoi for coffee.
Here is how it worked for us:
We contacted Indochina Voyages by email and together planned the trip.
When we arrived in Vietnam a guide met us at the airport (they had a sign with our names). The guide and driver took us to our hotel and helped us check in. That same guide and driver stayed with us showing us the sights until our flight to the next destination. At the next airport a new guide and driver would be with us to explore that area. Can you imagine how nice it was for just the two of us to see everything privately with just a guide? Affordably luxury! We never felt like we were being herded around as you do on a group tour. All the vehicles had aircon, were roomy, comfortable, and water was provided. Our drivers were excellent, and we appreciated their calm maneuvering on such chaotic (to us) roads.
Our itinerary detailed what we would see, what meals were included (beverages like beer, juice and soft drinks are always extra). There were never any hidden charges. Great care was taken to ensure the restaurants we went to were good for tourists and had clean toilets.
This was a wonderful trip and Indochina Voyages made it extra special for us. Thank you to Huyen and Daniel at Indochina Voyages and to all our guides who each in their own way, created very special memories.

I would highly recommend this company for anyone wanting a holiday to Vietnam & Cambodia. It was so easy to plan via email to the company with what style of holiday you were requiring. Everything is organised from the pickup at each airport by driver and guide, the check in at hotels to each day tours,
We were a group of 4 and we loved everything about our trip with laughter with our guides.. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent english and allowed us to start the day earlier if we felt the need. We did not do any train trips and I had read that this is only for the brave. Would recommend the following to anyone wanting to plan a trip: Sapa put this on your list your will not be disappointed we absolutely loved everything about being up in the mountains. We were lucky to be there on New Year and we did not have rain so lucky. the walking trails are amazing but not for those that have health problems. Hanoi stayed in the Old Quarter and this allows you to walk out the Hotel door to shop and wander the streets. Halong Bay was fabulous and our cruise with Paloma with excellent staff who teach themselves to speak English via You Tube. Hue another great town with lots of cultural buildings. Sunday nights they have Eat Street where the streets are closed and have food and music. Must see is the Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge. Everyone must see this just be prepared to have loads of crowds around. Hoi An another brilliant town and this is for anyone with shopping in mind ie: clothes to be made. Make sure you come with what you want made and bring that with you. Plenty to choose from. Saigon not a city for the faint hearted with trying to cross the road absolutely impossible. Make sure you include the Mekong Delta unbelievable and the Cu Chi tunnels. Then onto Siem Reap and the unbelievable Angkor Wat, ensure you do the 5.00am sunrise you will not be disappointed. Plus all the other temples.
Our guides were unreal and we really felt sad when we had to say good bye.
Thank you to Huyen and Nam who looked after us in all our bookings and for the special way we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversay in every town. Memories for a lifetime.

We chose Indochina Voyages for a 2+ week of Vietnam and are very happy with our decision! They were able to customize and itinerary based on what my husband and I wanted to do for our honeymoon. The planning process was very easy and straightforward; both Daniel & Huyen were very responsive.
We also had a driver pick us up from each airport and our tour guides met us at our hotels, which was very convenient. If you are thinking of a trip to Vietnam, I highly recommend using Indochina Voyages!

We did a lot of research before booking a tour company for our 3 week trip in SE Asia. Indochina Voyages stood our because they were the most organized, the most responsive, the most informative, and the most willing to make customizations to our tour.
I told them where we wanted to go, and they took care of everything else. They took all the stress out of planning a long trip.
We would highly recommend Indochina Voyages if you want a reliable driver with friendly, knowledgeable, English speaking guides who will make sure you see and do all the best things in each city.

Mt wife and I engaged with Indochina Voyages to assist in planning a 21 day trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. This was the best company we have ever dealt with. Their understanding of what we were seeking, flexibility, service, and value were unmatched. They helped us plan an itinerary that had a good balance of activities including sightseeing, biking, boating and relax time. Once we were traveling everything went like clockwork. We were met by a guide and driver at every airport at the time indicated on our itinerary. Our agent, Linh, maintained regular contact with us throughout the trip. If we ever had a question or issue, we found that she was very quick to respond to any emails or texts. We felt like we had a guardian angel. She was truly awesome!!

We travelled as a couple in a private tour to Vietnam and Cambodia mapped out by Van Do, which was an excellent mix of City, rural village life, culture, boat travel and personal leisure time. The bike tour from Hoi An was the highlight for me. I was not confident riding, having not cycled for many years, so a tandem was arranged with the guide, which was absolutely fantastic. (with Heaven & Earth Bike tours). Van arranged all airport drop off-pick up, accommodation, tours, vehicles, guides in each city/town and necessary Visa information. Very easy.

We had an amazing experience booking with Indochina voyages - Nam from the team was Super responsive and helpful and created exceptional service experience for us. He received us on time, nowhere we were kept waiting or felt like we weren’t sure of what was happening. It created a memorable experience for my family which included my elderly parents. Thank you Nam and thank you Indochina!

We worked with Indochina Voyages to organize a 3-country tour through SE Asia. Throughout the planning process Minh Vo was responsive and attentive to our questions and requests. From the moment we landed, every detail was flawlessly planned out. Each hotel was well-chosen for location, comfort and value. Our drivers were prompt and professional. In each country we experienced delightful service from our guides who all spoke very fine English.
In Vietnam, Hung walked us through a variety of activities including tasting snake liquor, jack fruit and even durian! His humor with taking pictures of our family added a little extra flair.
Our next stop was Cambodia where Jonna guided us through Angkor Wat. He was a great sport with accommodating our desires to do some bike riding and hiking. We especially enjoyed his warm humor and diligence in explaining all of the carvings in the temples and the river of Lingas. Cambodia was absolutely DELIGHTFUL and I cannot recommend the Shinta Mani Shack hotel and staff (Jasmine!) enough.
Bangkok was hectic, but our guide Cat guided us through packed crowds to see all the best temple highlights. On our park day hike, she gamely joined along to make sure that we could understand the ranger-guide whose English was quite poor. We especially appreciated Cat's efforts to make sure we were well fueled with snacks and beverages.
Phuket was PARADISE and we absolutely loved our speedboat tour day with our funny and feisty guide.
There really is not one single thing that could have been better. Thank you to Indochina Voyages for an outstanding trip. We will definitely look forward to working with you again in the future.

The trip was amazing. The organisation and attention to detail by Daniel Nguyan at Indochina Travel was absolutely first class. My wife and I would highly recommend Dan to others considering organising a bespoke tour of the best of Vietnam.

A quale costo?
Grazie.

Dear Sharla, welcome on board and asking us. Regarding your question, if you come to Vietnam and get the tours to Cambodia and to return after 18 days, then a 2 weeks visa exemption for Italian passport holder is not going to work. Please drop us an email to info@indochinavoyages so a consultant of our team can get back to you in a more detailed answer. Regards from Indochina Voyages Team.

I am considering one of the tours to Vietnam and Cambodia and wanted to find out if it is only two persons traveling, does one guide meet us at the airport and then set up and go to the different sites/activities with us? Are we placed with another group that may be doing the same itinerary? Do we tip our guide or is that included as part of our cost? Is it possible to identify an itinerary from one of the tours on the website and then include and exclude certain items-- at that point would we receive new pricing for the trip?
Do we secure an E-visa and then complete a VOA at the airport?

Linda - The tour is customized for two people or more and Indochina Tours did a wonderful job with everything for us. They will meet you everywhere on time, and you are taken care of beginning to end. The hotels they scheduled for us were wonderful and the food great too. I highly recommend them. I spoke with one high end tour company in the US and they partner with Indochina, so go direct to Indochina. We got our Visa through an expedited Visa company through embassy’s in Vietnam and Cambodia. Our friends did it on line though and it worked fine, so either way should work. Have a great time!

I'm in the exact same boat - trying to plan a 2 week trip with a family of 5 (2 parents in 50s and 3 sons aged 25, 21 and 15). I'm afraid there is much getting on plans and moving if we try to see all that this company proposes. What was your tour and how many places did you go in 2 weeks? Did you feel rushed? Thanks for any insight.

Hi Georgianna,
In 2 weeks we mainly did the northern region from Hanoi, with 5 days relaxing in Hoi An on the south east coast. We spent a couple days in Hanoi, before being taken to Ninh Binh for paddling through caves & walking up 500 steps.
Train to Sapa, one night, visit to Cat Cat Village, then lovely relaxed guided hike through H’mong villages. Was great having tour guides & drivers attend to our itinerary so we didn’t have to worry. Dan worked out our intinerary based on our budget & personal needs. He can do that for you, too.

Hello! my family of 9 would wish to go for a halong bay 2 day 1 night cruise on nov 1-2. How much does each pax cost?
Written June 20, 2018
Go with Indochina. We had the upgrade to 5 star Dragon Legend. A first class boat with safety all the way and activities that you can enjoy.

Hi trudynaylor58
We are thinking of a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia for appro 15/18 days in March 2018. Would you mind me asking what itinerary you travelled to please? Your post sounds as if you really enjoyed your trip. I really don't know where to start! We are a young at heart 61 and 62 year old couple.
Many thanks

Hi Janice, we started our journey in Hanoi, we were allocated a guide for 5 days we did several tours including street food tour, Nihm Bihn (incredible!) and an overnight in Halong Bay (breathtaking) and lots of visits to various temples our guide was extremely knowledgable. We then took an overnight train to Sa Pa for 3 nights (it's so good here!) then went to Hue (1 night), Hoi An where we did the Jungle Tour and city tour and a cookery course (afternoon only but good fun) but this was our 5 day luxury time so we chilled (this was our favourite place). We finished our journey in Saigon for 4 nights this is a crazy city and there is so much to see, we did the Mekong Delta here which you cannot miss. Our contact was Minh Vu he was beyond helpful, he rang or texted every day to make sure everything was going to plan but i hear all the operators are just as good. I hope this info will help to guide you, there were things we didn't have time to see like the tunnels but I'm claustrophobic so wasn't to concerned but there is good history here so would be very interesting. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did!

What was the Halong Bay Junk Boat used....I have a choice and deciding to take the better one ...deluxe.......did anyone do this...apparently quieter and more scenic...with Indochina Voyages...not Images
Written September 21, 2015
Hello, I did the "deluxe" Halong trip that Indochina Voyages organised for us. I would say it is worth spending the extra. The boat is much nicer - good size cabins, well furnished, good communal facilities. The route taken is different from the other boats - so not lots and lots of boats following each other in procession. I would recommend going for the more luxurious option. If you book early, then Indochina Voyages may be able to get you one of the best cabins on the boat - they succeeded in getting us one of the two best on our boat.
