We went on a Monday and it's closed,so we only took pictures outside the entrance. Go early if you do plan to go in--our tour guide said the lines get really long for this one.

I visited in the afternoon and the interior was not open. The grounds are very well manicured and the guards quickly approach if you cross the yellow lines. Perhaps this is a part of Hanoi that reminded me I was in a communist country... Worth...More

It is a Mausoleum for Ho Chi Minh. That was built after his death. He is located inside but as a visitor you are not allowed in. To me, it was just another sight to see and then move on.

Enjoyed the visit. We went alone without a tour guide. Worth seeing for sure. Best to go before 10.30am if you want to go inside as apparently it closes to the public after that time and you can only look at it from outside. I'm...More

We arrived on a Saturday at 9.30am very busy so went back on the Monday around 8.30am. Whilst the queue appears long it moves very quick. It is all a rush seeing his body but a must do.

Are you allowed to take a camera inside, even if your not using it there? Maos Mausoleum has rules that make you leave it outside for example.

The queue is much shorter towards the closing time. But bear in mind, if you intend to visit the museum and Uncle Ho's house of stilts, they close at 12noon and reopen at around 1.30pm-2pm. I am not sure if you have to pass... More
