This was once the one and only street where tourists bought silk, embroidery and various Vietnamese made clothes. Now it has turned very touristy, which might be good or bad depending on how you see it. There are other places to find the same thing,...More

Hang Gai street was quite near our hotel. I had a jacket and a top made at Curves and we ate at Madam Yens. Just walking around this area there was lots to see and do.

This is a very bustling shopping street, there is everything from silk to t shirts, you can have clothes made too. If you are not buying it’s worth a visit just to experience.

it is a very nice corner, near to Hoan Kiem Lake, can find a lot of interesting stuff like Ao Dai, traditional dress, silky scarf, small souvenir, really crowded a lot of traffic but I like it :)

Apart from cafes and shops Hang Gai has a live theatre as well ... only seats about 30 for a 1 hour show.. so booking is always essential . If you want something hard to get .... this is the street you'll find it in.

Definitely get VND if you're in Hanoi or any other city in Vietnam. That's what the prices for items are usually listed as and you won't have to worry about the exchange rate on the street.
