huge climbing gym. i went around noon on a wednesday and it was completely empty. the routes were quite tough but a great challenge.

only downside, it is not air conditioned so it can be fairly warm.

there are large fans, tripod for filming and a shower to clean up

200K VND for day use which includes the shoes, an extra 40k for the chalk. The place is huge and they have a lot of courses(?) for different levels.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
They have a shower room too but you have to bring all the essentials - towel, soap, shampoo.
All in all it was a fun experience as a first time boulderer(?). Couldn't make it past the Grade 3 though, since I felt it was designed for foreigners, most stuff I could not reach haha. I'm not even 5'3".

I've climbed at many different gyms, but what made VietClimb stand out from the rest was the strong sense of community. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by friendly volunteers. Having just moved to Vietnam at the time, I was very happy to find a place where I instantly felt at home.

However, I think the best thing about VietClimb is the outdoor trips. I've gotten to experience Halong Bay in a way I had never seen it before on a deep-water soloing trip-- we kayaked, swam, and of course, climbed. It was a great time! I've also been on the regular climbing trips a few times. The areas where we climbed were absolutely stunning. There was also something for everyone, including my friend who had never climbed before.

On a recent visit back to Vietnam, I had the chance to go on an outdoor trip to a place that was just recently discovered and bolted. VietClimb keeps getting bigger and better, but the warm sense of community is still there. This place is definitely worth checking out-- it is such a refreshing change from the stuffy gyms you'll find elsewhere in Hanoi!

We arrived and found what seemed to be a child's playground. Nothing like the photos at all. We caught a taxi here and after walking in and seeing how small this place was we walked out with 2 mins and walked back to the main road to find a taxi. Very disappointing.

The climbing was was god fun and the kids did enjoy spending some time there. But the place stinks and is dirty and for the price paid would have expected better. Would be a very decent attraction if it were cleaned up.

When i first arrived in Hanoi alone as an overseas student from Singapore, I was quite lost and disoriented. But these all changed when i discovered Vietclimb.

Vietclimb is a quaint bouldering gym located in a quiet corner of Au Duong in Tay Ho. Here i met a good variety of climbers, from veterans to novices, both locals and expats. Staff are really friendly and the boss, Jean a very friendly guy as well an experience climber always makes you feel welcomed in the gym.

The gym sells a variety of climbing gears, from shoes to harnesses, mainly from Scarpa. As for climbing there, you can either purchase a membership there which gives you unlimited climbs for that period of membership and also discounts for outdoor trips or you can opt to pay per entry. Cold drinks and coffee is also sold there and there's a nice sitting area both indoors and outdoors.

Climbing routes in the gym are update frequently and you'll never stagnate on your training! If its still too easy for you, there're always fellow friendly climbers that you can rely on to point you to different sport bouldering problems!

Jean is also a very dedicated climber and organises outdoor trips to different locations in the north of Vietnam every weekend, from deep water solos in Halong Bay to sport routes in places in Huu Lung, Lang Son where he and other international climbers bolted recently. If not for Viet Climb, i wouldn't have had to opportunity to see vietnam in a different light as most of the places he brings climbers are rural and often the route less travelled. Climbing trips are what i looked forward to every weekend to get a quick getaway from the bustling city of Hanoi. Don't worry. You don't have to be an expert climber to go on such trips. There are routes that cater to everyone! If you have no knowledge on climbing, there'll be climbers or Jean to show you the ropes! Kudos to Jean who brought the climbing community closer together in Hanoi. So why not see these attractions like Halong bay in a different light!

Everyone comes into Vietclimb a stranger and leaves a member of the close climbing family in Hanoi.

I expected good things after, all the research we had done, but was very disappointed in the gym. The gym is not air conditioned, so if it hot outside, inside the gym is hotter! Take your own water as their water is expensive. On a positive the bouldering routes were suitable for all levels. Unfortunately the staff weren't helpful (or even interested) in providing information about any of the activities they offer (and couldn't be bothered to explain the routes or grades or rules of the gym). We really wanted to do some outdoor climbing but not with this place. I wouldn't recommend to serious climbers.

Five stars for the people and the deep water trip, which was a great way to spend a weekend and check out Ha Long. Certainly better than going on a touristy tour. I enjoyed the DWS routes in Ha Long more than the ones in Tonsai and the food was simple and tasty.

I knew about Vietclimb after our company team building in 2011. We were surprised how big and how gorgeous the climbing wall was. The sport was new to almost all of us but we really had a good time climbing,
The reception is really good. We were helped to choose the climbing shoes, informed about security rules and surprisingly, at the first time there we felt we had been their friends since a long time before. They don't have many kinds of drinks, Prices are OK.But near by there are some cool places for those who really want to drink (with higher cost)
Some guys in our company came back to subscribe membership later and still join their activities until now, with great joy.
So, great place to gang out!

Unless it is your first time ever you will probably be bored after 10 minutes in this place. The picture make it look great but it is more like a little kids playground and expensive for what you get. They seemed to put on some cool trips but they were very pricy. I was excited when I heard of the place but super disappointed after I visited it.
