We were In Halong Bay about two weeks back. It was a very fantastic experience. Halong Bay which according to our guide has about 2000 islands in the bay was a beautiful sight. We saw the Sunrise ,Sunset and the moon rising in the sky between two island tops as it was full moon day. It was so tranquil to be in the Junk boat at night in the moonlit water reflecting the lights of the other boats in the water. Do not miss Halong Bay and spending a night in the Junk boat if you visit Viet Nam.

We booked this cruise as a three day two night. They changed us to a poor quality (Fantasea) without telling us and when we tried to complain they said it was their sister cruise line. Awful service. Nothing as promised. It is unacceptable to sell one tour and push the customer on to another. They guide said it wasn’t his fault or his problem. When we called the company they threatened to take us back to port if we wanted to book another. We said take us back and they then refused. Also the bungalow they promise is a scam. They not only took us to a different island they also didn’t give us the bungalow. Just a tiny hut 100 meters in the forest. What stung the most is that we triple checked the tour and he boat, knowing how likely people get tricked. We are currently trying to get some of our money back after they only offered $20 dollars. We paid almost $400. The other couples paid $240. Imperial cruise still claims what they did is fair so be careful.

The boat was disappointing. It was clean but the photos on the website looked much better. Also the bedsheets were very old and stained and my window broken. The food was also disappointing. I had been in vietnam fro 2 weeks at that point and only had great experience with local food but this was heavy and untastful. The activities were fun but rushed and we ended up arriving to the port 1:30 before the bus (11:00 rather than 12:30)and were ask to sit and wait. That time should have been spent on the boat. Overall the experience was very average and if I had known this was what I was getting I would not have hesitated to pay a bit more for something better.

We have just arrived back from our ‘Imperial classic cruise’ (superior cabin) in Halong bay. We booked this tour months ago, after being told it was a luxurious, spacious, comfortable and elegant boat. We booked this tour which was £100 more than others you offered at the time, as we explained that we wanted a non party cruise with a feel of luxury. When we arrived on the very cramped tour bus we were told that the boat would not be how we expected it to be. They said the rooms will be smaller, not what we would expect and we will be on a different boat not the one we actually had booked. On arrival to the boat, first of all it had another company name all over it with a cable tied banner on the top with “imperial cruise legend “ (which again is the wrong cruise name, ours was meant to be classic) we then had to climb over the barrier of the boat which was far from what we expected for a luxurious boat cruise. Following this, we got our cabin key and were told that they air conditioning was no working in our room. The other other option was a twin single bed room which wouldn’t at all fit two adult women with two large suitcases. When considering what cruises to book we picked this boat due to the “spacious and well appointed cabins”, and the “large un-suit bathrooms” where the actual case was you basically have to sit on the toilet while showering. All very disappointing as this was the last part of our life time trip. So after all this let down, on arrival back to the met a couple who were meant to be in the same trip as us, and actually got a cruise upgrade where as we got a appeared to have a cruise DOWNGRADE as nothing quoted in your description was nothing like the reality. We would also like to add the fact we could only use air on during the hours of 9pm and 6am. So during the 30+ degree weather during our time in the boat, we spent most of it feeling dizzy, sick and needing a rest from the heat and no other air conditioning was available until those hours. Again as advised it states air con. I have attached photo evidence of all the issues that we came across with prof we weren’t in the “imperial classic cruise” and in fact on a cruise called “peace charm”. Even the staff had peace charm on there tops.

Me and my girlfriend booked a cruise for 3 days 2 nights and got a free upgrade to Silversea Cruises for an unknown reason. Tour bus picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Halong Bay. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast, dinner and lunch was fantastic with alot of variation and options. Note that drinks are not included in the voucher, so coffee has to be paid for even when they offer it next to the food. A lot of different activities as listed, which were all amazing, so nothing to complain about here. Their english is understandable but communication problems may occur, especially when talking to staff other than the tour guides. Other than that they are extremely friendly. Only negative experience was the bus transport. The drivers take some extreme drive-by's, and high speed at uneven roads. Got thrown up in the air multiple times which was quite unpleasant. Mostly why we would not give a full 5star rating.
