We had great trip to Vietnam thanks to the great customer service provided by Custom Vietnam Travel and all of their staff, especially Liliana Pham. We were two couples who decided to make the trip after many months of planning with the help of Liliana. The first stop in Hanoi was excellent with good accommodations and everything was open. One highlight was the cooking class we took that introduced us to fresh Vietnamese cooking and shopping at the markets. We also took a day trip to Tam coc which was great. We then went to Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Danang and Saigon. On each step of the way we dealt with Liliana who made sure our trip went smoothly, despite the difficulty of travel during the threat of the Covid-19 virus. She helped us re-arrange our itinerary and had incredible patience as we substituted a few new activities. We particularly loved Hoi An with its colourful atmosphere and fantastic restaurants and scenery. Our drivers and tour guides were all very helpful and courteous and definitely helped us get the most our of our trip. Liliana even managed to get us on a different boat for the trip up the Mekong Delta and we ended up with the boat to ourselves! Since our trip was cut short (we did not make to Cambodia), Liliana arranged for the company to reimburse us for the lost portion of the trip. Overall, I would highly recommend Custom Vietnam Travel and their representatives like Lilana who clearly go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service with a friendly attitude and also pride in the rich culture of their country.

We took the referral of close friends and by were happy we did! Our VT agent Minh Ninh is a true professional in every sense. Impeccable follow up that was prompt; knowledgeable and honest; and last but not least, just a lovely person!! Hotels and private tours well planned. The stay at Pho Quoc was special to say the least, and DO NOT miss the Vespa Foodie Tour in Saigon .. what an experience. Best done in a group. Halong Bay a must se, and I could keep going but I think you get the spirit of our message. Vietnam and its people are beyond special, and to have worked with Minh and the team at VT made it even better!!

Julie Bui at Custom Asia Travel worked hard and made up the trip of a lifetime. As a Viet Nam Vet, I wanted to visit the areas I was at in the Central Highlands. We set up a lot of things not on the regular tourist routes. So much more people to people than a bus tour and having over 2500 pictures to prove it. We fell in love with the country and will return. Julie and Lam was great in helping us change our flight out ahead of time due to the virus scare and request to return home. They worked above and beyond in every aspect.

Our tour started with our guide (Hung) meeting my wife and I at the International Airport in Hanoi with drop off at the very nice Apricot Hotel. The Itinerary had us starting in Hanoi, moving to Sapa, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and then to the south to Ho Chi Minh City. Unfortunately the Coronavirus altered our schedule because of the Government taking safety measures and closing certain areas of the country. Our Sapa trip was rerouted to Pu Luong which is like a mini Sapa and just as beautiful. There is no luxury hotel in Pu Luong, but we stayed at a very nice Homestay where hiking was convenient to seeing the beautiful terraced rice fields. The people there were so friendly as they are everywhere in Vietnam. At that point we were notified about the Government shut down of more tourist areas including Halong Bay. Our hotline contact and travel rep (Susan and Lily) were able to get us to Ninh Binh which is like a Halong Bay, but on land. Very scenic. Unfortunately with consultation with Lily and Susan it was decided that it would be best to end our trip in Vietnam. The shut down of tourist areas, possible travel restrictions within Vietnam and possible issues getting back to our own country drove the decision. I have to say, even with our trip cut short due to the Coronavirus we had a memorable trip in Vietnam. The interaction with Lily and Susan with the last minute changes, keeping us up to date with Government changes and trying to keep our trip a memorable one was instrumental and FIRST CLASS! Our guide Hung was really fantastic, spoke fantastic English and always made sure we were taken care of. My wife and I both agree if you are coming to Vietnam you will not go wrong with Custom Travel. They truly have customer service from trip planning, on the fly schedule changes to keeping the customer happy and safe. Custom Travel was also able to refund a good portion of the unused itinerary. When this virus issue is gone we can wait to come back and visit Vietnam and finish what we started. Yes, we will contacting Custom Travel to have Lily schedule and hopefully Hung as the guide. Thank you again Lily, Susan and Hung!

We have had an amazing Vietnam Holiday arranged by the extremely dedicated tourist agent Minh Ninh at Custom Asia Travel. Always professional and correct, warm and helpful, she handled our many questions and customized our stay in Vietnam to suit our special interests, requirements and dreams. She was punctual in meetings with us and quick to reply to any messages we sent to her via emails and whatsapp day and night. Our days in Hanoi and other parts of Vietnam were filled with diverse and interesting activities thanks to her. Our tour guide Lam Ngo was incredibly well versed in Vietnam history and culture and was able to share it with us in a personal style that held our interest, and his sharp humor was fun and entertaining. He showed us around the city's important cultural sites. We took an amazing afternoon vintage motorbike tour with the company called Vietnam Backstreet Tours that showed many rarely shown areas in Hanoi to tourists. We were introduced to a very old poor woman at her apartment to hear about her situation, drove through alleys and streets so narrow that we were centimeters from scraping the side mirrors, went to a narrow stretch of housing where the only space between the both sides of the street was the railroad track, and they timed it so we got to see a train pass through!! They took us to little known street restaurants and market places and to a homeless settlement area near the river. The company very admirably supports and donates a certain percent of all income to help the homeless and needy. The young tour leaders made the day daring, fun and interesting, showed deep and sincere empathy for the vulnerable people in the society. We give this Backstreet Tour our highest possible rating!! We had several days out in the Vietnamese countryside in the areas of Mai Chau and Ninh Binh. Our driver Ouc (yok?) was very punctual, always waiting for us even earlier than the agreed time, dedicated and flexible to changed plans, he and guide Lam did everything in their power to make our lives fun and interesting. That included long walks in the rice paddies and through the villages nearby, bicycle tours through villages and rice fields, delicious lunches at private Homestay restaurants, and trips with the company van to places where we got to climb up to mountain peaks that offered incredible views. We also took a boat trip on narrow waterways between steep mountain tops and several exciting tunnels. Everything was perfect on our agenda except for the famous Water Puppet Show which we didn't appreciate so much, we were glad for the experience anyway, but we don't recommend it to other travelers. Unfortunately, we decided to abruptly end our Vietnam Holiday because of both Swedish and Vietnam travel restrictions for in and out travel caused by the unexpectedly rapid spread of the covid-19 virus. We returned early to Hanoi a couple of days before leaving Vietnam and stayed at the fantastic Oriental Jade Hotel: located centrally, with excellent rooms, breakfasts and fantastic service by reception personnel. We also found an impressive Street Art part of Hanoi with murals painted on the support walls under the train tracks that we enjoyed immensely. The two pre-booked destinations that we missed because of the virus were the islands in Halong Bay and the beach resort at Hoi An, but we intend to return to the amazing country of Vietnam in the future and put those two at the top of our wish list!!
