Purchased an ex rental kawasaki KLX150 from Flamingo. Great bike for Vietnam. Had awesome service from Flamingo when purchasing.
Had a couple of issues with the bike (expected as ex rental) but they were super keen to fix the problems for me and I only had to pay for the clutch plate parts, no labour costs. They charged 150,000 vnd for the spare clutch plates and had it fixed within hours of me telling them.
Highly recommended this place.

I highly recommend Flamingo Travel. Their crew is friendly, hardworking, speak English well, and they always make me feel welcome. For maintenance and routine servicing, I’ve found them to be honest, prompt, and affordable. They’ve helped me out of a jam on more than one occasion. They've even come to my apartment for a repair when I couldn’t get my bike to the shop.
Their rentals are consistently solid; my friends and I have never had an issue with a Flamingo bike. Their shipping service is great as well. I’ve used them to transport my bike from Lao Cai to Hanoi at a reasonable price.
The tours are fantastic! I’ve done a couple of their Weekend Explorer Tours, and I’ll definitely do more. Two to three guides, a mechanic, and a driver in a support jeep (filled with ice cold drinks) accompanied us on overnight tours outside of Hanoi. They change the routes and destinations each trip, but wherever they go, it’s always amazing with comfortable accommodations located in natural settings. Streams, waterfalls, hills, valleys, forests, and fields are abundant along the off road trails, back roads, and scenic highways. We’ve taken ferries, crossed suspension bridges, mountain passes, mud . . . the rides are never boring. And at the end of each tour, they finish with a kick-ass barbeque back at the shop.
The crew working at Flamingo is the highlight for me. They’re always friendly and always offer exceptional service. On one tour, a rider was having problems with his bike, so a guide gladly swapped his KLX for the customer's broken bike, and the rider was able to continue the trip problem free. Returning from another trip, someone’s bike broke down a few km outside of Hanoi (these aren’t rentals either; these are the tour attendees’ personal bikes), and again, the guide swapped his own bike and pushed the costumer’s back to the shop in Hanoi. The mechanic is fantastic and can fix nearly any issue roadside, but if for some reason he can’t, they’ll do whatever they can so you can enjoy your trip.
The Flamingo crew is the best, and I can’t recommend them enough!

My friend and I did the guided 6-day Best of Northwest motorcycle tour in Vietnam in November 2022, a great time of year to do the trip. We rented 150 cc Kawasaki KLX dirt bikes that were in great condition, and we paid extra to rent new Bell helmets. Our guide was Nam Ngô and we became friendly on the second half of the trip. He was a good guide and took us on scenic routes and lead us there safely. We got off the a rough start because my friend and I weren't very skilled at riding and riding 30 minutes to exit Hanoi in heavy traffic on unfamiliar bikes was challenging. Nam was irritated that we didn't tell him our skills weren't really ready for such a trip, which makes sense. Easy to laugh at in retrospect, but stressful at the time. Thankfully no crashes or injuries. We didn't give Nam a good first impression, but we eventually got along well as we spent time on the road. I recommend Nam Ngô as a guide, he's good at his job, and once we became friendly, we joked around and had a great time. The scenery was beautiful and it only rained on us for a little while some days. A fun, adventurous trip, and interesting and mostly tasty food. One of my favorite stays was in Mai Châu where we ate delicious local foods and stayed in a bamboo lodge overlooking farmland and rolling hills. We also saw a traditional dance performance by a local troupe and it was a great experience. The other highlights were when we stayed in homestays. I much preferred those to hotels.

Before renting a big bike I had contact with Hung about the different options available that would suit my needs and wishes. It needed to be a big motorbike (not a scooter) as me and my wife wanted to travel bigger distances with some backpacks and go into the mountainous areas as well.
Hung suggested a Honda CB150X. It was the 2023 model and was completely new. I was the first customer to drive it. It was a great experience!
I was very happy with the service that Flamingo provided. Our excess luggage was shipped to our end destination. Proper protective gear and helmets were provided as well. The Vietnam roads and drivers are a bit different than what I am used to in Europe, so I was glad this safety equipment came included.
The bike could easily handle everything that we and Vietnam threw at it. Always enough power and maneuverability to handle every terrain (and our extra weight). Brakes worked very good, as was necessary on several occasions during our trip.
The 150x was definitely a head turner, to both men and women of all ages. It also commands respect on the road which is an important factor when driving in Vietnamese traffic.
Would definitely recommend Flamingo to anyone who wants to rent a proper motorbike in Vietnam. Thank you, Hung!

Our group of 5 booked this tour and to our delight we received a private tour of just our group. Most riders were over 60 the oldest was 76. The entire process was well explained by Hung and Tram with minimal issues. Bike preference had to be amended due to supply issues however this was not an issue. The tour was as described on the website. Our guide was Nam, he was great! Very patient with the older guys and he always made an effort to ensure we were happy. All meals provided were more than enough and the accomodation and home stays were adequate. It’s a big trip so be prepared for some long days and interesting riding. The scenery was incredible. The people always happy and helpful. The roads are crazy busy and can be challenging at times. I would use Flamingo again and would recommend them to anyone. All the guys on the trip went home happy. If I did it again I would get the most comfortable bike (maybe the Honda FT would’ve been better) as you feel the long days in the saddle. 2 of the hotels provided laundry services so no need to pack much. I would suggest bringing your own gear if you have it as the stuff provided is quite basic and well used. Unfortunately we got caught with the typhoon so rained solid 4 or 5 of the days at least. Good wet weather gear was a must. Highly recommend this tour and I think I’ll be back to do the North tour with some other mates. Thanks again Nam we had a great time!

We have just completed a selfdrive motorcycle tour of northern Vietnam. Being experienced riders we wanted to have a route put together for us by people knowledgable of back roads, scenery and places of interest in the region. Flamingo Travel did not disappoint! The motorcycles they provided were well equipped and in very good condition. We were provided with numerous spare parts (none of which were required). The GPS route provided was outstanding and the standard of homestays and hotel accommodation (and meals) far exceeded our expectations. We found the staff at Flamingo Travel tio be genuine, trustworthy and reliable.
They are extremely easy to work with, have a desire to please and check in with you along the way to ensure that all is well. We intend to use Flamingo again in other ares of Vietnam and highly recommend anyone contemplating booking any type of holiday to contact Flamingo Travel when planning their adventure.

I enjoyed a four day guided motorcycle tour in Northern Vietnam provided by Flamingo Motorcycle tours. What I was most impressed with was their willingness to customize the tour to suit me.I had a list of places that I wanted to see and we hit them all.
My guide was Hung. He knows all the best motorcycle and curvy roads in the country I believe. Also he has a good knowledge of the local people and customs and is willing to share. We would stop alongside the road and visit with people working in the fields. Or kids playing. This made the whole trip for me. I wanted to interact with the people. To experience real Vietnam not the tourist version.
The lodging was excellent. My favorite was at Meo Vac. Hung was quite flexible on food choices as I obviously have western taste.
The motorcycle was a little older than I expected but performed perfectly. A bonus of having a guide is if anything goes wrong with the bike your mechanic is right there.
The best recommendation I can give is I will do another trip with Flamingo in the future.
Thank you Flamingo

We have just returned from our THIRD self guided motorcycle tour with Flamingo travel in Vietnam and they continue to never fail us with service, quality and delivery.
We proposed a route which combined several of their tours, commencing in Hanoi, heading south to Ninh Binh and then north up as far as Phong Tho before returning to Hanoi.
Their GPS route had us riding along levi banks in rice fields, through tea plantations, across mountain passes, across narrow bridges and ferries, on back tracks and along quiet country roads. The scenery was stunning, the people wonderful and the experience unforgettable.
Accommodation in homestays and hotels was organised together with meals as part of our package.
Staff kept in touch along the way to ensure all was well.
I cannot emphasise enough how secure we always feel when organising and ordering our tours with this company. The staff are easy to communicate with and ensure all our requirements are satisfied.

I have lived in Hanoi for 20 years. I regularly need to rent a motorbike when I have visitors from Australia or the US. Recently, my cousin from the USA and I arranged a trip from Hanoi to the south of Vietnam. We had used Flamingo Motorcycle previously and were happy with the service. This time we went to the office in the old quarter, the staff (particularly Ms Thuy) remembered us from a previous contact. The range of motorcycles available is quite extensive - I booked a Versys 300 ADV bike for 10 days, and my cousin booked a Honda 150cc Winner for the same time. After paying the fee and $1,000 cash deposit for each bike, we went back to my apartment. As arranged, at 5pm that day the 2 motorbikes were delivered to my apartment. Mr Hiep gave us a thorough introduction to the bikes and took photos. The bikes were well prepared, clean, had recent oil change and had at least 2 litres of fuel.
We left for the south of Vietnam the next morning. Both bikes performed very well. Everything worked, we had no mechanical issues, depite sometimes hot weather in heavy traffic, and rain and wind. We took a couple of days to ride to Hue in central Vietnam, spent a day there relaxing, then my cousin headed south to Saigon, and I returned to Hanoi. I rode back (570km in one day) and the bike did not miss a beat. I contacted Ms Thuy to tell her I would not need the bike for the full rental period and, as per the contract, she agreed to pay me back 70% of the fee for the remaining days of my contract. She made the bank transfer within 2 hours. Mr Hiep came the next day to collect the bike. He paid me my cash deposit without question, and he rode the bike away.
All in all, a very professional and happy experience. I recommend Flamingo Motorcycle unreservedly and without question. Hanoidave.

It’s been 1 week when we r back from our New Zealand tour. It’s really a memorable one which could happen only bcoz of Flemingo n their tour guide Ms. Mukti, whose services were excellent.Rest all d arrangements were excellent but we ve a complaint regarding d payment part. We 2 pax had travelled, but after having a talk to d other couples got to know that d discount given to us was different from others travelling with 2 pax. There was a difference of 24 thousand. So, I must suggest team Flemingo to give a fixed discount to all their travellers ( according to d no.of travellers traveling together) otherwise this part compels us to think about d difference in their rates which they offer for their packages.M surprised that how this reputed company b partial with their customers in price for same tour at same time and in same group...I have recommended flamingo to so many people but didn't know that we have to face this issue. In future we would like to look into this whether this team takes care of this matter....
Thanks n regards.

Hi guys, four friends and I will come to visit Hanoi in April. Our plan is to rent bikes in Hanoi and drive down to Saigon. However, we have limited time, around 10-14 days, for that trip. Therefore, I want to ask if there is an offer to rent a bike in Hanoi and give it back earlier than in Saigon if the time frame is not long enough. Thanks, Ueli

Hi Ueli,
Thank you for interested in our services. Its possible to rent our motorbikes in Hanoi and drop it off in Hochiminh city. Do you know 14 days ride is perfect time frame to go down to Hochiminh, you still have 1 or 2 day off for visiting and exploring the area where you think its best for you to stay. if you have only a 10 day ride, I recommend you drop motorbike some places such as Nhatrang, Dalat where you can easily catch bus and train for going to Hochiminh. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Kind regards. Hung Nguyen
