This tour was okay, but the temples at the beginning were pretty unimpressive. Modern monuments to the erstwhile glory of a now completely razed imperial palace. The boat ride is probably amazing if you take it during harvest season, when the rice is yellow. But in mid July, it's mostly green, so nothing you can't see anywhere else. Also, the... More

I took the same tour to Tam Coc nearly 20 years ago and I can see the degradation of the environment. I advise to take an umbrella to protect against the sun or rain, the person rowing you gently down the river deserves a drink when they reach the last cave and a tip when you get back. Twenty years... More

We went in July. Despite a great day, do be careful of the heat. It's apparently the warmest month of the year. We decided to invest in the traditional Vietnamese hats and was the best investment ever- they were light, provided good shades and breathable in the heat.

It is a calm and peaceful town. Without overwhelming tourists, you get the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Do not miss the chance to do the bike ride, you get to enjoy the amazing scenery of paddy field.

When on this trip from our hotel in Hanoi. Fantastic day out. For part of it you said up the Goal Lunch river. What they don't tell you is that when yoou are 4km down the river you are accosted by locals in boats to buy water/chocolate and souvenirs. Your guide/rower on the boat is in on it and they... More

We did this day trip from Hanoi. Bus pickup is 8am, and in a small mini bus. There was only about 6-7 on the tour. We booked at a travel information place and were told it was mid range tour. It was with daily Vietnam tour. The guide, Duc, was very good and knew his information well. He gave a... More

This is one of those trips that make you feel like you're learning while you enjoy stunning scenery, the one drawback is the coach journey which is a couple of hours but trust me it IS worth it. The first Emporers tomb is educational and tells a part of Vietnams history that's not that well known, and the river trip... More

Yes Tam Coc is Ha Long on land, great boat trip through stunning scenery & 3 caves. Hou Lu the ancient capital was a mere fraction of it's former glory, not too much to see & our guide was not very enthusiastic. This is the tourist route & the Hawkers don'the miss any opportunity to get their hands on your... More

We booked a trip to Tam Coc when we were in Hanoi. There are lots of tour agency around Old Quarter. I would recommend u to book the tours when you are there, as the rates are significantly cheaper than u book them online. They are easy to find and locate. There is a row of tour agency around Phung... More
