This place was built between 1805 and 1812 under King Gia Long and is over 2 centuries old. It resembles an old stone fortress and has steps leading to the top where one can get a good view of the city. There are old cannon sitting at the base of the place at grand level.

In military grounds

Located in the war museum grounds the flag tower is right in the middle of the grounds. Nice view over the aircraft in the museum.

We stumbled upon this on our way to see Ho Chi Minh Museum and stopped to get a coffee at Highlands coffee. Really enjoyed the ease of walking about climbing to the top. There is a lot of historical cannons along the base with good english translation

A good place for photos on three veils overlooking the War Museum (as well as direct access). Worth visiting.

This tower has nothing special but you have to know that it's there that the first Vietnamese flag was set after the independance. It's very near of Ho Chi Minh memorial

Interesting building, right next to war museum. Enjoy the visit and have a Vietnamese coffee on the big terrace next door.

The Vietnamese are very proud of their military history in gaining independence as evidenced by the artifacts in this museum. Somewhat biased in their interpretation of the conflicts and who was committing atrocities, however, isn't history often nothing but a pack of lies written by the victors?

Flag tower and military museum. Center city attractions houses military items and old airplanes and vehicles from the Vietnam War era. Nice view back in time to reminisce.

Visited the museum and had a walk up onto the platforms of the tower. Great stone structure and was nice to hear that it's over 200 years old and is still how it was back then. The stairs are steep for those wanting to walk up.

The flag tower is just close to the War museum, so you cannot miss it. Have a walk around, climb up the terraces and enjoy the view (but you cannot go up the very top)
