Tour guide Alex met us at our hotel, and we were off. Yes, it was a little scary at first riding amongst the scooters on the street, but those scooters really know what they’re doing and how to keep traffic moving in a safe, cohesive pattern. Alex was very mindful and kept an eye out for us at all times, I quickly felt very confident that safety was important to him and his This tour is so reasonably priced for everything you experience. It was great to see some places we did not have the time or energy to get to on foot the previous day. You’re not biking for 4 straight hours, the excursion is broken up with stops: the Red River, a visit to a cluster of river homes, a cup of tea in the home of a local, egg coffee, Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Masoleum, and bun cha. This biking adventure was a trip highlight - add it to your list! All our best to you, Alex! You are kind and bright and will do very well!

A thoroughly well-organised and fascinating afternoon on the outskirts of Hanoi, exploring the rural landscape of Banana Island. Our guide, Alex, was engaging and insightful on Vietnamese history, from the attempted Mongol invasions to Trump’s recent visits. The cycle across the Long Bien bridge was an adrenaline-fuelling experience, and Alex guided us safely there and back. We were hosted by a local lady, and we enjoyed green tea and fresh fruit. The tour ended at Cafe Nang, for a complimentary egg coffee! Scrumptious. There is little that can be improved upon although one of the bikes needs a service and a new set of pedals. There was a hairy moment on the return across the bridge when one of the pedals slipped off the lever. Will definitely do this trip again next visit.

Just finished a cycle tour to Red River Island: a rural oasis situated between old and new city Hanoi.Although it was a very damp grey morning it was very interesting to learn from Alex how the land has been made over to the local people to farm and live on. We sat and had tea with one old couple in their bamboo shack home. Alex was very knowledgeable and able to communicate well about the city’s history. The trip was finished off with a delicious barbecue pork Pho lunch at the road side. It was a pity that Alex had to rush off for another tour as we enjoyed his company. Although cycling Hanoi’s busy streets at the beginning of the trip felt a little scary to begin with you soon get used to it and we felt pleased to have done it.

We were picked up from our hotel on scooters by our guide Alex. Short journey to collect our mountain bikes. Cycling the streets was an eye opening experience though under the supervision of Alex we were safe. Got to experience some rural life so close to the city. Afterwards we had a delicious meal at a local restaurant. Later that afternoon we arrived back to our hotel and a msg was awaiting us at reception. It was from Alex who had dropped off a personal belonging i had left behind.
