Tons of fun!
Sep 2019
We had a great time at the cooking class! Our favorite part was making the spring rolls-they are trickier than you think! We enjoyed the fruit salad and beef soup as well. Everything was delicious and fun to make. The staff even made us delicious Vietnam coffee to enjoy before our class. The staff was also very informative on each ingredient and how it should be prepared. The class lasted for about 2 hours and then we ate for about 30 minutes to an hour. We had a great time!

Fantastic family cooking and dining activity / nice local insights / must do
Dec 2017 • Family
Really great experience. The whole family loved it. Kids 9&11 and parents. Various techniques and different courses. Starters to desserts. Great and friendly staff. Delicious food. And big fun. Great to combine learning local customs and having a family activity.

Great fun

A very fun and enjoyable experience. The chef (Mr. Tuan) and assistant (Ms. Julian Vu) were very nice and helpful. Mr. Tuan gave some great tips on general oriental cooking techniques. Ms. Vu was very hospitable and gave me some useful info about shopping around Hanoi. The foods portion was too generous, enjoy for you to bring back to your hotel to share with other friends. :-)

Fun food and laughter
Oct 2017 • Couples
The cooking school was secondary really to getting to know a lot more about the Vietnamese people, traditions, culture and eating protocols. It is a great way to spend a few hours with some experienced and fun loving staff who are very passionate.

Needless to say, the food was fantastic. Thank you Jillian, Thank and Nam for a great experience.
Our advice would be not to have lunch before hand.

A 'must do' activity in Hanoi.

Our family of 4 (kids aged 10 & 12) had a fantastic afternoon cooking up a mountain of Vietnamese spring rolls, bun cha (wet and dry), decorations and other assortments, and enjoyed the fruits of our labours with a cold beer afterward. The Marvel Cooking Class is in a professional restaurant setting, with 3 chefs in attendance (one who translates), and super fresh ingredients bought from the market that morning. The 2 kids were fully supervised at all times by a personal chef, which meant they were able to safely use the knives and hot oil. The restaurant is lovely and the setting for the class is in a bright and airy alcove of the restaurant, which had been set up as a full kitchen! A really great experience, that I would recommend.
