About
Founded by a Vietnamese duo of travel writer and photographer, the concept for Collective Memory emerged from a shared enthusiasm for Vietnamese culture. While constantly on the move for assignments, the creators use these opportunities to scour the country for the best products that Vietnam can offer. The concept brings together authentic and high-quality Vietnamese brands under one roof.

    A must stop shop
A most excellent shopping experience in Hanoi! All the products are locally made, of top quality and very innovative. They recognize and honor the craft and the artist. It is obvious that the owners put much care into their selection of products and lucky for us, they also have an online shop. Make sure you stop here, a one stop shop for meaningful souvenirs of this beautiful country.

I randomly found this gem of a shop in Hanoi, as I was looking for a propaganda-poster shop in the same street, that I've visited 6 years ago. The old shop was gone, however I'm glad a bumped into the collective memory shop. They sell lovely art prints for a fair price, and hundreds of other arty articles that would make the best holiday gift or souvenir of Hanoi. I left the shop with 4 prints, and a book. By the way, the owners are super kind, and very helpful. Thanks to their recommendation, we had an amazing last dinner in the city, before flying back home on the same evening. Totally recommended !

This is not a museum. It’s a very western homewares and gift store with prices which were on par, or frankly higher than equivalent stores (which there are many!) in Australia. $22 AUD for a printed tea towel and $17 for a simple printed canvas tote bag. I found it lacked authenticity and surprise factor, however the service was lovely.

We found this store while trying to find some meaningful gifts to bring home. They feature contemporary artists, elegant products, a wide price range and MOST importantly one of the loveliest shop owners I’ve ever encountered. She could not do enough for us, including recommending similar places (although her store is the nicest). I will cherish the items I chose (scarves, candles, books, cards....) and will most likely keep some of the ones I intended for gifts. It’s one of those places that make you regret you don’t have a bigger suitcase.

When found this amazing shop by going to Banh Mi 25, we sat eating out sandwiches and were amazed and jealous of the art on the walls. We asked and they showed us Collective Memories. We instantly went there in search of those art pieces and were blown away buy the art pieces in the store. The way that the store supports local artists and stores is amazing, I’m magnificent displays of their work with detailed descriptions behind the pieces. They sell everything from teapots to oven mittens. I bought an art piece and a notebook and they wrapped it up very well. They rolled up my image and put it in a roll for me to take home. They recommended me an amazing coffee shop called Lily’s Coffee which was also amazing. Would recommend everyone to this store and will encourage my friends to buy from them anytime.

Read great reviews of Collective Memory on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. An amazing shop with a wide range of high quality and quirky items, great for gifts and of course, some special memories to take home for yourself. Lovely owners with great recommendations like Chao Bahn Vietnamese Restaurant.

Glad to chance upon this shop which is further down the street in front of St Joseph's Cathedral. Cool designs which are not those run of the mill items. Bought 2 lovely and unique posters, and will be back when I visit Hanoi again.

In a city where many of the same t shirts, fake silks and cheap little things for tourists swamp you, it is really nice to find this little shop. The labels tell you the percentage of silk in the scarves, the shirts are designed by an artist and there is an array of spices and beauty products. Art books, clothing and everything you need for authentic and different gifts for home.
We visit every time we come to Hanoi.
