Oh my Gosh, what a trip and what an experience. I was on a 10-day group photography tour with Momentlives, and the guides Trieu Son and Hoa Nguyen Duc were fantastic, taking us all around Vietnam, first class. Both extremely knowledgeable, and shared meaningful personal stories as well as providing a vast amount of knowledge of the culture and the people of Vietnam. They made us feel welcome and in fact got us welcomed into many places we could not get into if we were on our own. A true testimony is in how they weaved us in an out of places so smoothly and assisting us in any personal difficulties we experienced. They were there for us and made it a priority that each of us got everything and beyond what we hoped for. Fantastic photographers too with many tips. I am going back in September 2022 for another trip with them! And I am so looking forward to it.

Incredible Hanoi Photography Tour!

May 2022

My partner and I booked a 2-day trip with Mike in May 2022 - one day in the incense village, and the other at a village renowned for its fermented soybean production.

Right from the off, the communication with Mike was incredible (his English is incredible!). He replied to our queries quickly offering multiple options with details to match. He was more than happy to meet our specific needs on this trip - nobody had requested to capture the soybean production factories prior to myself, yet he made it happen.

During the excursions, Mike was kind enough to explain all that we were seeing and answered any questions we had. To add to that, the driver and car were exceptional, and the restaurants we visited during the day trips were wonderful.

I've already recommended him to those in my photography circle, and I'm looking forward to returning to Vietnam in the near future and booking Mike's services once more.

100% recommend booking if you're looking to capture unique images in Vietnam.

You won't find a better Vietnam photography tour anywhere.

Simply put, you won't find a better Vietnam photography tour anywhere. I have been running photo tours for over a decade and the Momentlives team are without a doubt the finest local operators I have ever worked with.

The itinerary they created for our group was both varied and spectacular. It gave our guests an insider's view of Vietnam from the beautiful rice terraces and tea plantations in the far north to the fishing villages of the central coast to the lush Mekong delta in far south. Our trip was bookended by visits to Hanoi and Saigon the two largest cities in the country.

But more than just assembling a beautiful itinerary and executing it with a flawless attention to detail, you will find in these two young men have a passion for photography that comes through on every stop we make. Son was just as excited to shoot fishing nets and incense making as the rest of us were and he's seen these things a thousand times. His gentle direction and advice added something extra even in a group of very experienced photographers.

I recommend Momentlives photo tours without hesitation. They are remarkable in all regards.

I had two friends travel with me on a tour organized with Mike. From the planning stage I could already sense that he was genuinely eager to make sure we had the best experience, by researching new locations and subjects to shoot. When we went on the shoot with him, what impressed us the most was how he truly wanted to capture authentic experiences rather than staged photo shoots. At the various locations where he brought us to, he would engage the families and interact with them to make them feel comfortable with our presence, which allowed us to shoot many different angles without the people feeling awkward or self conscious. At the end of the day it was mission accomplished and as a result of his professionalism and sincerity all of us went back with photos that we were very happy with.

Vietnam is perhaps the most "photo-rich" country I have ever been to. Momentlives provided us with a comprehensive package that included experiences of a lifetime. They arranged all of our meals and lodging and transportation. It all went off without a hitch.
I have so many top-tier images I may never be able to delete any!

Amazing tour!

Absolutely an amazing experience! Mike was an awesome tour guide. We had plenty of time shooting all the pictures we wanted. He was friends with literally everyone in the village, so he showed us around the village and we were able to learn and see their everyday life, which was so fun! He also kindly took portrait pictures of us with his really good camera and sent us all the pictures the next day! He even edited some of the pictures for us. I have nothing to say! This was one of the best tours I joined and it was so worth it. Thanks Mike for a great memory!

Best Guide!

Absolutely loved the photography tours with Mike.
A true cultural experience and probably my highlight to my North Vietnam trip. Mike was an excellent guide with great knowledge about the village and photography- he would also give us really handy tips and ideas for shots so that we would get the most out of every location. His communication is excellent and it was so easy to travel around the village as the locals have a great connect with him so we would feel welcome everywhere we went. Everything was very efficiently organised and the tour ran so smoothly. My group was altogether so impressed by Mike that we are looking to do more tours with him in the future.

Best guide ever! We had an amazing days in Hanoi and the best part of our tour is the tour that we booked to experience the Colors of Incense Village Quang phi Cau and that couldn’t been possible with out Michael Nguyen, with his personal connection with local people and workers are undeniable. I would recommend this tour who enjoys photography and unforgettable experience and he thought us to take your photography skills to the next level. I felt so lucky to find Momentlives and was able to take a half-day workshop with Chu Viet Ha on my last couple of days in Hanoi. As a lifestyle family photographer myself based in US, I’m always into street photography but found it really difficult. Chu Viet Ha opened my eyes to his approach of connecting with people, his super unique perspective, as well as his view towards street photography. If you love street photography and want to bring your photography skill to the next level, you will not regret booking this workshop with Chu Viet Ha.

Beautiful village with a top bloke photographer

I booked this tour with 2 other female friends. We had such an amazing time. Definitely a highlight of my trip to North Vietnam. This incense village was absolutely stunning to photograph. We loved every minute of it. Mike’s english is fluent and easy to understand. He gave us a lot of insight to the process of making the incense and helped with in finding good angles. He’s a top bloke!! I highly recommend this tour, booked a couple of day tours with him and will be coming back to do longer tours next time we return to Vietnam.
