Would not recommend. We booked to go to Ha long bay. It cost us 63 US dollars per person. The trip was cancelled due to the weather conditions - understandable. We got a call from Kathy who we booked the trip with in the morning while we are at the hotel to say that the trip has been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. She then called a few minutes later to say it is going ahead. Our friend tried to book the same trip that morning with a different travel company and they were unable to book as they were told the boat would not be running due to weather conditions. We were on the bus for about 2 hours when the tour guide told us we could no longer go to Ha long bay. She asked us as a group if we wanted to go to Ninh Binh. The bus was still moving as all of this was being discussed and we had no idea what the tour would now entail. We were never explicitly told that we could get a full refund if we went back to Hanoi and we felt a bit of pressure to go to Ninh Binh as everyone was asked as a group. In the end we said we were happy to go to Ninh Binh if we got a partial refund as we had paid for a deluxe trip to halong bay - lunch on boat, sunset party, wine, kayaking etc. We text the lady we booked the trip with there and then to confirm that we would get a partial refund and she said we would and to just enjoy our trip. She must have rang the tour guide and complained to the tour guide as the tour guide then said her manager said we were not happy about going to Ninh Binh but I showed her the messages and informed her I said we were asked as a group and I am happy to go if I get a partial refund. We were 4hrs getting to Ninh Binh. It should have been much less if we weren’t making our way to Halong bay. We only ended up getting to do half of the Ninh Binh trip as we started it after lunch at approx 1 - 1:30pm. The Ninh Binh trip was 28 USD. When we went to the office to get the refund after texting the night before and confirming Kathy would be there, she was not. We got saturated in the terrestrial rain going. We left and after reaching her on the phone a short while later we went back. Got soaked in the rain again to be told she would refund us 5 USD. We paid 63 dollars for a 28 dollar trip that we only got to do half of. Eventually the manager came in. He was laughing and smiling and he raised his voice. He mentioned he didn’t care about the tour guide when I said the bus was over booked as I was in the tour guides seat and she was sitting on the floor. He then wanted to get the tour guide down and was saying she would give a refund because she didn’t inform us properly. I said she was on a weeks wage why would she be giving a refund. I feel so sorry for the people who work there. After Kathy showing me the itinerary for the 28 dollar Ninh Binh trip the manager at first said it wasn’t the itinerary. Then he said who told you it was the itinerary. Then he said the 28 dollar trip didn’t include tickets or lunch even though it clearly said they were included. At one stage he said it didn’t include the bus either and I said what did it include then. He just kept smiling because he knew what he was saying was ridiculous!! The bus was overfull. We paid for the “deluxe”. Me and my friend wasn’t together. She was in the front of the bus beside the driver and I was behind her in the tour guides seat that had very little leg room. I’m about 5’9 - look at picture. The bus is apparently what we paid over 30 USD more for than what would be offered in the 28 USD standard package. The whole thing was a disaster. The tour guide wasn’t provided with a microphone so we couldn’t hear her on the bus. The company just wanted to avoid having to give refunds and tried to encourage everyone to go on a way cheaper trip for the same price they paid to avoid this and make extra cash. Hence they told us we wouldn’t be going to halong bay 2 hours into the journey when they knew from the get go. Worst customer experience I have ever witnessed.

I went to Bali in May 2022, and on the trip I went on 5 trips with Discova, and was also picked up and driven to the airport on my last day. I wan`t to give you my warmest recommadations. I was always picked up at the right time and never had to wait, the cars was really nice and was always clean, the drivers were polite, smiling and always holding the door for me, and my guide Ketut Sunarka was amazing ⭐️ Ketut Sunarka was my guide on all my trips, which I`m very happy about. He was so nice and funny, and always paid attention to me. He`s english was very good, and he told so much about what we saw around us, when we were driving around, and he made a lot of ekstra stops to take pictures and show me interesting things on the way, that wasn`t on the program. I will definitely recomment and use Discova another time.

Not all travel agents will treat you equally well if something goes wrong: A group of 10 travellers booked a Borneo Multi Days Package at the Sakua Rainforest Lodge through Discova (Formerly Buffalo Tours). Due to the Pandemic, we formally cancelled the trip and requested a refund in March of 2020. While other travel agencies and airlines offered full credit and/or refunds in a timely fashion, if took Discova until to August to issue a refund; and this was after extensive emails sent to the Vietnam office and its management, along with inquiries sent to the main office in Singapore. Furthermore, Discova claimed that the "supplier" would only return 80% of our payments. So the group forfeited about $2800 USD for a trip that was cancelled. We have subsequently booked the same package for future travel directly with the Rainforest Lodge and found out that the Covid19 return policy is a 100% refund.

We were picked up from our Hotel in Hoi An and driven to Hue, with a friendly driver, who showed us sites along the way, and dropped at our Hotel in Hue. We were also transferred to the Hue Airport, and collected again at Hanoi Airport to go to our Hotel in Hanoi. The following day we once again travelled with a very safe driver to Halong Bay and given clear instructions as to where he would be on our return. We travelled back to Hanoi, stopping along the way to stretch our legs, and for a break. On our departure from our Hotel the following day, we were driven to Hanoi Airport. Our drivers, who were all very courteous and always on time, if not a little early at times, and we felt very comfortable with every aspect of their service. We would definitely recommend Buffalo Tours to anyone visiting the region!
