Ruined our one day in Hanoi. Bus stops are not labelled on any map, so impossible to find. The online route is straight lines through houses so it’s obviously not helpful. Arrived at a bus stop 5 minutes before it’s scheduled time to see it was at the top of the road, already passed the stop. Took a taxi to a stop up the road where we could not find the stop at all after walking around for nearly ten minutes despite it listing the Cathedral had a stop. Then the bus came by, we waved and ran towards it and the bus driver looked at us, then looked away and continued down the road and around the corner. The buses are also running at half the times, half the buses, which we can only assume is to do with fewer tourists (great so you screw over the few tourists you have…)- but the bus signs still say all of the original times. Absolutely useless, terrible experience, avoid at all costs. I’d bargain to be taken around on a little push bike if I could go back and have more time - give money back to the people!

For 450,000 Dong ( about £15) you get a 24 hour ticket that enables you to hop on and hop off a regular (every 30 mins) double decker bus that tours Hanoi's biggest tourist spots - also provides a great opportunity to experience the city and all its vibrancy - would recommend as an easy and efficient way to see a lot - also provides headsets and a guided tour.

A very good guide who not only showed us all the key sights but also stayed on to help us change hotels. Excellent service! The Temple of Literature was very impressive, the 'Hanoi Hilton' and War Museum less so. As always, history is written by the victors so the presentations weren't totally objective, but that's very understandable given how the Vietnamese suffered in the 'American War'.

With dong300 I took 4 hrs city tour which cover 13 stops. I have to walk 800 meter from stop 7 to Al noor mosque. Inside the right side of the mosque u can find zynab halal food. The routes cover most interesting places around Hanoi.

I chose the "First Four Rows" option, and we got seats in the center of the front row. This was definitely worth the extra money, in my opinion, as the puppets are small and the view from the front is so much better. The tickets were waiting for me at my hotel when I checked in the day before. The process worked flawlessly. A great experience!
