Do not miss the opportunity to do this tour with the lovely Lily. A walking tour through the streets of Hanoi, Lily shows off the signature dishes that Hanoi is known for. Lily is passionate about Vietnamese culture and history and is quick and knowledgeable. She's also has a great sense of humour. Go hungry - there will be more food than you can eat.

Originally I wanted to do a night tour of the city, what better way to see the city at night than on foot & have a good time as well as a good variety of traditional foods. I enjoyed it that much that I did the motorbike food tour the next day & saw different parts of the city & different food to the previous night. The tour guides - Tony, Phoenix & Dun were informative, had a good sense of humour & spoke English well, they filmed the tours & took photo's, however I am still waiting for them to email them to me. Maybe Tony will do this soon.......Brenda

We've had a fantastic trip to Vietnam and the street food tour with Lily was a competing highlight to Halong Bay. Her passion for Vietnamese culture and heritage is inspiring and there is no one that could be prouder to show you around. We toured for almost 4 hours, trying some of the best food that I believe Vietnam has to offer. We would never been exposed to this food otherwise. Learning about the food, language and even some sites and heritage along the way added an extra flare to the tour.

I cannot recommend a food tour with Lily any more. Most certainly worth the money as well.

We made rice paper rolls, pork lemongrass skewers and egg coffee. Our family thoroughly enjoyed all the meals that we made especially the egg coffee which tasted divine. I felt like the treatment that was given was excellent. I recommend making the egg coffee and the pork skewers they tasted like they might've come out of a michelin star restaurant.

Definitely worth the while to learn and understand Vietnamese food and culture in this tour. Phoenix and Trieu were great guides and explained and photographed many experiences! It really helped at the beginning of my time here to explore the different food with confidence and excitement. Thanks foodie tour! Definitely recommend.

Me and my wife have taken a walking food tour with Dung. We ate at places that we would have never find out ourselves even using Foursquare and Google Maps.

Dung explained a lot about the Vietnamese food, culture and history of the city.

Thank you for a perfect first night in Hanoi, Vietnam. We have lots of happy memories and some good knowledge to use when we are out and about eating, drinking, and shopping. Our guides, Zum and Nghia, were excellent and have continued to be helpful throughout our stay. We did the tour with our children aged 10 and 8 and it really helped them to be adventurous in the food they have tried since. We highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting Hanoi. Try and do the tour at the start of your stay so you have a good understanding of local foods, customs, and geography. We have revisited a number of the places we were taken to on the first day. Thank-you Zum and Nghia.

A highlight of our vacation was a cooking class offered by Foodie Tours. We learned to make a regional specialty roll with a pork filling and egg coffee. The master cook who taught us was kind and patient -- those rolls are tricky! Our guide and translator gave us an excellent overview of the recent food history of Vietnam. It was so awesome and we had so much fun that we ran over our allotted time. We definitely recommend trying this.

On a whim, I asked my hotel to book me a motorcycle tour. That afternoon Lilian arrived at my hotel to take me on the tour.

I wasn't sure what to see but Lilian was able to make suggestions for me based on my interests and the time I had available.

Whizzing through the streets of Hanoi on the back of Lilian's motorcycle is the best way to see Hanoi. You cover a lot of ground and get the "real" Hanoi experience.

We went to Hỏa Lò Prison, the Temple of Literature, followed by a meal of Banh Xeo (Vietnamese savoury fried pancake), the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Trấn Quốc Pagoda (the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi) and finally ice cream.

At every site Lilian was able to explain its historical and cultural significance (which is amazing given this country's complex history). Her English is impeccable and she speaks with great passion for Hanoi and Vietnam. Indeed, at a number of sites when Lilian was explaining a cultural or historical aspect to me, foreign tourists would come up to us to ask a quick question or two. Then they would turn to me and say "Wow, she's good." Very good!

If you are taking a trip to Hanoi I would strongly recommend that you take a tour with Lilian. It's a great way to get an insight into the culture and history of Hanoi.
