We went on this cruise in Oct 19 as part of a trip round Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Friends had told us Halong Bay was worth the side bar trip. Well , they were not wrong. We were taken down to Halong bay by small people carrier and then waited with other passengers to embark. Halong Bay is a world heritage site. However the waterside / harbour area is being developed rapidly. Many hotels, bar and restaurants are springing up and all look new and focused on the tourism market. This started to worry us as we didn't want to be just part of the herd of visitors and casual tourists who come down, snap some pictures, eat in a restaurant that serves western food and then leave. When we embarked we soon found out we could not have been more wrong. On a beautiful boat redolent of Agatha Christie's best novels, with 21st Century service, WiFi, 5 star facilities and you might get some idea of Paradise cruises. From the moment you step aboard - to cold drinks, cold towels and a sincere welcome from the staff to the moment you disembark you are looked after like royalty. The boat is styled on a modern version of elegant 1930 wood panelled expensive cruising. I think it only holds 36 passengers. The wood shone, the brass gleamed and the carpets were luxurious and soft. The cabins are small but perfectly formed. Not small enough to be cramped as it still managed to have a large double bed, TV, luggage area, shower/wc en suite and a lovely balcony that made the trip, as you could spend hours enjoying the view, stars and stunning environment. I watched the sun come up and go down out there. We booked a 2 nights 3 day cruise and we were glad we did. If they did longer cruises we would book tomorrow (Covid 19 with standing). Food stunning, great options and choice. The standard is of a VERY good restaurant. The staff were superb. Friendly, helpful and so professional. We did all the trips including the kayaking which was a hoot and will never be forgotten. The safety of passengers was obviously paramount and the Captain & staff ensured everybody understood the safety briefing. Halong bay is stunning and really does take your breath away. Yes, there are other boats and sometimes the overnight stops could feel like a floating car park but the boats must park together for safety and it does not detract from the experience. Watching the sun go down will stay with me forever. It is not often I say something was prefect but this was. If you like relaxing appreciating the beauty of a stunning environment, elegant comfortable travel on a quiet stylish boat - this is for you

As I write this, I am sitting in the Paradise terminal in Halong Bay. My wife and I just finished the overnight cruise, and we had an absolutely amazing time on the boat. We originally booked for the Paradise Sail, but we were upgraded to a suite on the Paradise Elegance - fine by us! Our 2.5 hour transfer from the Melia Hotel in Hanoi was fine, and then we had roughly a 1 hour wait in the air-conditioned terminal. We boarded the boat and were immediately greeted by Ryan, the ship manager. We were shown to our suite with a beautiful picture window, and then went upstairs for lunch where we met Kiana, our butler for the trip. We enjoyed the ship so much we skipped the excursions to the cave, the beach, and the kayaks. Rather, we enjoyed the gorgeous facilities and services on the cruise. Sunset drinks on the sun deck, giant Vietnamese seafood dinner - everything was enjoyable. We were possibly the only non-Vietnamese on the cruise (we're American), and everyone was having a great time. One group of older Vietnamese couples even brought their own PA system and danced to Latin music as we cruised the bay - it was a fantastic atmosphere. If you want to enjoy a little quiet in Halong bay (and possibly escape Hanoi for a night), we would definitely recommend Paradise Cruises.

My team and I had a wonderful experience staying and enjoying the excellent service and hospitality on Paradise Elegance cruise. Many thanks to Mr Vu Anh and his team for their efforts and consistency in delivering such memorable service! This is all the more impressive that we ourselves are from the hospitality industry as well! Well done and all the best to Mr Vu Anh! We certainly look forward to taking Paradise cruises again!
