Do not get ripped off From Ti Top Bar on Ti Top Island
The beach and most vendors are great. Beware of Ti Top bar. Only deal with the lady who works there. The boy will change prices at random. Bought 2 beers from the lady today for $3 USD. When she left and the boy was there, the magically doubled in price. Do not buy from him. Today is August 14, 2023

Sad to see many PET bottle garbage
The island is named after Russian cosmonaut. This was the first stop during the tour. We were asked to choose either, hiking or swimming. We chose hiking. It was quite a tough one! It was really a hot and humid day. The stairs are quite steep and narrow. There were lots of tourists, you needed to walk carefully for up and down , not to slip or hit. The view from top was beautiful. You get sweaty! We saw people swimming at beach. Looked fun in such a hot day at less wave beach. It was very sad to see tons of PET bottle garbage were not only in trash bins but also everywhere in the island. Maybe tourists brought drinks here and threw them away when finished. When we entered the cruise ship, we were asked not to bring in PET bottles. Only glass bottles were sold in the cruise ship. So there should have be no PET bottles in the island but there were. We must behave to preserve the great nature.

Climb the top or swim in the bay
This is another must stop for every Halong bay cruise ship, so it's very crowded as you might expect. Here, you have two options: climb the top of the island via a stairway (around 20-30 min one way) or swim in the bay on a sandy beach. We did neither as the weather was lousy with rain and pretty chilly for swimming (though few from group did).

Nothing else special about Ti Top Island (aka Titov Island) other than the view from the top. The island gets its name from Russian cosmonaut Titov who, together with President Ho Chi Minh, visited the island in 1962.

As soon as you land at the dock there are dozens of boats and countless people all with the same intention. There is a statue near the dock, a refreshment bar, and beach that round out the activities.

The stairs, some 400 steps, do take some time to get up, as it is difficult to pass others on the narrow climb. The top has some amazing 360 degree views, and I think it is worth the climb and queuing. We arrived close to sunset and were fortunate to snap some great photos!

Tourist administration in Halong only allows people to swim at Titop beach ( a few others) and every single boat takes travellers there. It is too crowded , noisy and full of trash. You should better stay on the cruise and enjoy the bay rather than going to Titop beach

It's worth the trek to the top for the view. It offers a panoramic view of Halong bay which is fantastic. Yes it can be a bit busy but then anything that is popular is! Some of the steps are a bit steep, so I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who isn't confident on their feet.

Very steep and arduous climb (all paved, hand holds most of the way), but the view from the top is spectacular. The sheer number of people going up and down also presents challenges, so wear appropriate footwear and take water. There is a beach on the island to cool off. Take VND for drinks because they vendors don't accept cards, Google wallet or Apple pay.

As other reviews mention, it can get very crowded, however this doesn’t detract from the stunning views once you climb the few steps to reach the top.

Our tour arrived earlier then most so there was not much waiting on the climb to the top, however there was as a large queue that stretched to the bottom on the way down.

Regardless, nothing can be done about the crowds and it is definitely worth a visit to get a panoramic view of the bay from above.

Most complaints are likely from people obsessed about getting the perfect photo for their Instagram.

If you come here anytime after 3pm just don't bother, the queue starts from the bottom all the way to the top. The whole island is crowded in general and there's barely much space on the beach. The beach isn't even an average beach so the only thing worth visiting here is the viewpoint.

We visited Ti Top Island, one of thd few islands in the Bay that's possible to visit, quite early in the day - we were the first or 2nd boat to arrive yey!
Most in our group chose to climb the 400 steps up to the summit, and were rewarded with stunning views across Ha Long Bay.
We chose to chill on the little sandy beach, before the crowds arrived. It was getting busy by 10.00, but not overly so, and it was a lovely interlude in our Ha Long Bay cruise.
Apart from the 400 steps to the summit, there are also a more few easy steps on the isle. Take water. Swim off the beach if you like.
We liked it here...

Visiting this island during a tour of the bay on a small cruise. Standard stop on all day cruises, so everyone need o get off and forced visit. Nothing special unless you want to swim, otherwise just hang out with all the other tourists.
