Very friendly and charming service of everyone. The boat itself is charming and authentic and the rooms comfortable and well presented. Good quality food, we were very well fed and looked after. Drinks are extra and are on the pricey side but that's not surprising.

Halong Bay itself is outstanding, the sceney and rock formations are so unique and beautiful. The vastness of the bay and the view is something special. My only downfall is the haziness of the air and how this restricts a clear view or
sunset and sunrise.

The activities we did were what I imagine are the most well visted and popular ones by the crowds we experienced. The Surprise caves were outstanding, visiting the pearl farms and shop was interesting and lovely scenery but the sales pitch was present but no pressure to buy. It was awesome being on a floating structure though. We kayaked around the bay from here. Second day activities was a hike up Ti Top Island and opportunity for a swim here on an articial beach. View is awesome, it was flooded with other tourists as everyone went at the same time but wait back until have it to yourself for a moment.

I personally would be to have more information on the geology and history of Halong Bay as it's something completely surreal to me even having witnessed it. It's a beautiful place and worth the tour to visit.

We did the 2 night, 3 day cruise on the L'Azalee, checking in on the 31st Dec 2019, and checking out on 2nd Jan 2020. We booked through our agent, part of the Flight Centre Group, whom we also learnt when we were in Saigon, that they bought Buffalo Tours, and are now known as Discova.

The cruise was exactly as we had hoped. We didn't want to have many people on the boat. In fact, for NYE, it only had 12 PAX on the boat (and there are 12 crew members!). As a result, we actually had NYE dinner on the bigger brother ship,
Emeraude. Fortunately, we were able to return to the L'Azalee to have quieter celebrations. This was the first time in 4 years, that we did not have a NYE Party on a beach in Asia, so having a quiet one was what we wanted.

The cruise had the organised tours to caves; kayaking; beaches; caves; and more caves. All good, and two full days of it was more than enough. We did TiTop on the morning of the last day. We really enjoyed that. Thank goodness it was in January...in the hot season, it may be quite unbearable.

Do not expect pristine waters, but you are able to take a quick swim. If you are going to snorkel at Halong, you will be disappointed.

The crew were great. Dan the Man was our tour guide for the trip. He was fantastic and entertaining. He does love his karaoke, so be warned, he may encourage you to sing with him. The tai chi in the morning is great, especially with Halong Bay as the backdrop.

The food was a little too Western for us. We love having Pho for breakfast, but instead it was just continental. I guess it is catering for more western tastes.

The cabins were great. Quite large and comfortable. We had room 106.

Highly recommend this cruise. Dan was good, and so too, the crew. Improvements on the menu would be great. The beverage costs are questionable.

Dear Rod and Michelle, We are glad that you had a great time with Dan and the crew during your New Year cruise and enjoyed Halong Bay for 3 days and 2 nights, which actually is the best way to do it with some time to relax and enjoy the scenic view instead of rushing from one place to another. Thank you for your recommendations on the food and we are on our first week of dry-run for a new menu which features mostly Vietnamese dishes. We try to balance the choices as some guests also have particular tastes and are not very keen on everything local. Though we are sorry to hear that you found the beverage cost rather questionable, but just to let you know our selections were priced in consideration to the average pricing of similar boats in Halong Bay. Overall, we are glad to be a part of your New Year's eve cruise and hope you had great memories of Halong Bay to bring back home. All the best! Anne

Our cruise through Ha Long Bay was amazing! Despite the rainy weather, we still managed to do all the activities on the itinerary, with the help of our fabulous guide Dan (Dan the Man). All the staff on board were so friendly, and fishing for squid was definitely a highlight. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone!

We have just returned from a fantastic one night cruise, and it couldn’t have been better. The accommodation on board was great and the food was excellent (I’ve never eaten so much !!)

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by all the crew.

Special mention must go to Dat as he was such a great character. He went out of his way to make sure all the guests were happy, and really made the trip even more fun. We won’t ever forget our time in Halong Bay, and have not only made great memories but also great friends.

I’d definitely recommend booking a trip with L’Azalee as opposed to one of the bigger more impersonal boat companies. You won’t be disappointed.

We booked a 2 night / 3 day cruise onboard L’Azallee through Buffalo Tours.

We enjoyed the trip and the sights however we wished we had just done a day trip..

The food on board was okay but not great and the accommodation was the same. Our biggest issue was that the ship had mixed 1&2 night tour groups on which meant that you had to swap boats during the day to allow additional pick ups and we were put into a day cruise for our second day.

The drink prices were very, very high. We were lucky and checked the bar menu before ordering but there were people on board who got both a huge shock and bar bill. The cost of drinks is around 3 - 4 times what we paid in Hanoi. Be aware!!

We had hoped that a 2 night tour would give us a chance to see more of the bay and head further out but we found that we simply spent two nights moored alongside all of the other tourist boats. The day trips we did were around the same area and in my opinion, we should have spent additional time in Hanoi rather than queuing to climb steps to take a photo of a bay crowded with ships.

We enjoyed the tours but for what we saw it could have been squeezed into a day trip. It is an awesome place with breathtaking views and natural rock formations but is spoilt at time by crowded tourist areas and litter in the sea.

We visited Tam Coc, which is like a fresh water Halong Bay. In my opinion we found this better value and much nicer with less crowds.

Dear Anna, First of all we would like to thank you for letting us know about your experience in Halong Bay. We are sorry that your cruise did not turn out to be as you expected. Regarding our 3d2n program, we follow the same program like the other boats wherein the second day is spent on a day boat to keep you cruising while the other guests on the main boat come back to disembark. There are not a lot of 3d2n guests in each boat so all the guests from the other boats are billeted in different day boats. In some cases wherein all the guests are staying for 3d2n, then the main boat goes further out in the bay and does not come back on the second day. A day trip will only allow you to go to 1 smaller cave than Surprise Cave and then come back to shore, as the day trip programs are only for 4.5 – 5.5 hours on all boat companies. While it is true that Halong Bay has been getting so popular in the last 5 years with its stunning islets, naturally, downside to a natural wonder getting discovered is the influx of tourists from different parts of the world. Every now and then we try to be flexible on the program inorder to avoid crowded areas however on some days it is rather unavoidable. The route we have chosen gives you a chance to visit the most beautiful places in Halong Bay and still have the time to relax and enjoy the view around you. Furthermore, as registered with the local Port Authorities, we have to stick to a route and cannot change locations during the cruise but can only change timing if necessary. It is also a pity that you found the food and accommodations on board not at par with your standards, and that our drink prices rather expensive. Our beverages have been priced averagely compared to other boats in Halong Bay, however, we will take your opinion into consideration to improve on all of the services you found unsatisfactory. We thank you for these opinions. Nevertheless, we hope you had a great time exploring Halong Bay and have had some good memories to bring back home. Safe travels!

Did the 2 night cruise with L’Azalee and couldn’t find fault with it. The crew were fun and attentive and ensured we were all treated like royalty. Special shout out to Dan the Man who, from the onset, had us all in fits of laughter and was key to making the trip such a success. Food and activities were excellent and some of the best scenery you’ll see. Definitely a must do A+++ thank you Dan and crew!

My wife booked L'azalee cruises for our honeymoon trip to Vietnam. I have to say that everything provided to us was of the utmost quality. The whole trip was planned out so well. They also had our room setup specially for our honeymoon as a surprise (my wife gave them a heads up on this one)! The food was amazing and all the activities were fun!

I cannot finish without giving a shout out to DAN - the cruise manager! DAN THE MAN has taken such good care of us and all of our co-travellers. He kept us entertained with his humor and saw that all of our needs were taken care of immediately.

Shout out to the amazing crew as well, especially our Tai chi master!

:)

We booked the L’Azalee private Cruise for our Mother - Daughter trip, it’s recommended by a Vietnamese famous Youtuber and it’s wonderful and exactly what they reviewed for.
We were taken care by a very professional and helpful crew with 5 people just for us. Even though we booked the cruise at the very last minute but everything was ready for us and we appreciate their welcome and efforts to make the trip happened in the way even more than what we could expect.
The boat, the room furniture and toilet were beautiful clean and well functional; bed was very comfy. There’s welcome drink and plenty of tropical fruits at least 3 times a day.
Minh Tinh Tu, our guide was the best, very friendly, natural and honest: he paid a good attention to my mom health condition to make sure she could enjoy every activity without being tired, his arrangements were very flexible - sightseeing and taking breaks in between. We had great time visiting a beautiful small cave, trekking to the lake on the island mountain, mountain climbing to the top of an island with breathtaking sunset views, my dog Willow and I were swimming at the beach, she could make friends with two other guard dogs on Ti-top beach. The tour to the Pearl Farm, where we could buy our family members beautiful and high quality pearl jewelry.
Through out the adventures Minh shared with us stories and history of the city and Halong Bay and pointed out unique sights along the way, helping us taking great pictures without being asking for, he also told jokes which made our journey full of good laugh.
We had a amazing cook, Mr. Khắc on board made us very good food and the menu was different from fresh salad, local dishes to sea food, chicken, beef and the drinks were also good. The food was plenty and we had the best dinning service till our very last minute on boat.
The captain, Hùng and two other assistant were professional and friendly. He chose less touristic routs and quite mooring point for the night, good distance from other big tourist boats so we could perfectly enjoy our evening under the moon light.
All the crew members were very kind, we had a good time sharing our red wine 🍷 together and listening to their story, how they became good brothers and good teamwork.
We have already reconnected to our friends and family. Highly recommend and will come back soon!

Let me start by saying we booked this trip nearly a year in advance for my husband's 50th birthday. We did a tour of Vietnam on our own, from South to North over 2 weeks.
Covid-19 was occurring in China and so there was a decline in tourists, mostly due to country bans on citizens of certain countries to prevent the disease spread. We were staying in Hanoi and the driver picked us up at our hotel, we were the only people on the minibus. After the long drive to Halong Bay, we were greeted by our tour guide Dat, who advised it would just be us on the tour that day! We had the boat to ourselves (normally there would be about 30 tourists). We were shocked that they didn't cancel on us, which we have totally understood. The boat was beautiful, the crew lovely, and Dat our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Although we felt a bit awkward at first due to being the only guests, Dat and the crew quickly made us feel right at home. We did a few stops at a few caves but otherwise spent the day on the boat, touring the many islands. It was timed perfectly, having a 4 course lunch between sites. Everything was included except alcohol, with good options on board. We opted for only the one day trip because we just didn't have the time to spend days on a boat, maybe next time! We highly recommend this company and commend the staff for making our tour enjoyable despite what was going on in the world. We were sure to tip generously to try to make up for the lack of other tourists. A nice touch that Dat did for us was to snap photos throughout the tour which he compiled into a short video during the trip back to shore. He sent us the video by airdrop and how we have a memento to remember the day.

Did the two day/one night cruise and had a blast. Staff were wonderful, the food on board was excellent and a relaxing time was had by all. There were a lot of activities included with the trip, with stops at Sung Sot Cave and Ti Top Island, and another opportunity to stop for kayaking. There were also activities on board such as squid fishing. My room was small but lovely and had everything needed for a short stay. The boat itself is beautiful and you really feel like you are stepping into the past when boarding. This is definitely the best way to see Halong bay and the only downside was that I would have liked to have stayed on board for longer.
