Cat Ba Kayak Adventures is a full service sea kayak adventure tour company based in Cat Ba Island Vietnam. Raised on the sea live for adventure, ready to explore. Our guided kayak tours offer another easy-to-learn, low-impact, yet active way to explore the calm water of Ha Long Bay. Sea kayaks are stable, efficient and extremely sea worthy vehicles which makes a fun way to experience the wonders of Cat Ba Island, Bai Tu Long bay and this UNESCO world heritage site. We respect our environment and our place in society. Our tour utilise local products to reduce our carbon footprint and in gauge with local communities that we were born.

My sister and I had a wonderful time on our 3 day, 2 night adventure with our guide, Ming. Henry, the owner, did an excellent job of communicating beginning with the first contact via email. This tour was very well organized from start to finish. Ming was very informative and fun. We were able to kayak, bike, and trek. Both Henry and Ming were attentive to our needs during the trip.

Mr. Mong guided us for a 3 days and 2 nights of paddling and cruising in Lan Ha Bay. It is a more intimate setting than doing the same in Ha Long Bay and it felt like we had the entire bay to ourselves. Only 4 of us on this excursion and Mr. Mong said they keep it to small groups for a peaceful experience. He guided us through caves, tunnels and secluded lagoons. The bay is really as glassy as you see on the pictures so the paddling is easy as we weren't battling currents or chop so you'll cover a lot of area. Our tender captain was punctual, met us each morning to take us to a beautiful section of the bay where we would launch and he prepared amazing lunches in the tiny galley. The kayaks were in good shape and well maintained. I will never tire of the scenery and we had a wonderful experience.

We had a great 2 day trip with Minh. All the logistics worked like clockwork, and because the trip was just my wife and I we were able to get to many parts of CatBa that the big boats couldn't get to. We were able to take our time and explore the region. The food served was amazing, home cooked and some of the best seafood you'll get. We stayed at the homestay, which was a really great experience. Minh was amazing and very generous with his time, we learned a lot about the area and life in Vietnam from him.

We did the full day kayaking guided tour on October 10, 2022. We discovered them on accident just by walking by their location at the harbor. We were searching for a tour that specialized in kayaking. This was exactly what they did. So, if you are interested in a full day of kayaking, this is the best place we would recommend.
It was a great experience and we got to see quite a bit of the bay area. We took some breaks here and there to swim and explore. The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He seemed to enjoy the trip as much as us. That made it a very positive and fun adventure.
If you are adventurous, don’t mind a great work out and are searching for an adventure that is not too overcrowded, this is the place we highly recommend.

Our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers 14 + 17 yo) had the most amazing experience with Cat Ba Kayak Adventures. We did a day tour to Cat Ba National Park (10km hike to Viet Hai village, bike ride & boat back to Cat Ba Harbour), followed by a 2 day / 1 night kayak trip around Lan Ha Bay, staying overnight in the Floating Village (such a unique experience would definitely recommend over staying on board a boat!). On both tours, we were the only travellers and Minh, our guide for all three days, was fantastic. We were complete beginners at kayaking and he was a great teacher. The kayaks used by this company are Sea Kayaks and looked much sturdier than other groups we saw on the water. Minh and the Captain of our small boat took us to places where we were often the only people around - we were kayaking in such peaceful, beautiful surroundings it was truly breath-taking! As a bonus, Captain was an amazing Chef and lunch both days was some of the best food we tasted in 4 weeks!
Although not cheap by Vietnam standards, this tour was well organised, and absolutely the highlight of our holiday. We would definitely do it again!!

We did a 3 day 2 night kayak trip in Lan ha bay/ Halong bay, and it was fantastic. We were a family of five, and had a boat to ourselves with two cabins. The boat was simple but perfect for us. Common space upstairs for eating and hanging out, cool breezes! We ate meals up there, really special food including Vietnamese hot pot. The kayaking was exactly what we were looking for, the first day was short, given all the time taken with travel and settling in. But the second day included a few different areas, hidden caves and coves. We also did a biker ride to a village in day 3, really fun.
This company, run by Mr. Henry, made everything easy. Communication through what's app was thorough and clear. Everything with the trip was exactly as billed. Our guide, Huy, was terrific and made everything even more fun, same with the crew. Despite this being a heavily touristed area, we felt peaceful. I would highly recommend this trip.

From first contact with Cat Ba Kayak Adventures, Xuan Cuong the tour operator was fabulous and patient, and responded promptly to all my queries. We chose a full day private kayak tour and our guide Mong was amazing. He was by far our favourite guide on all trips to Vietnam, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and very easy to have a great conversation with. The tour itself was beautiful, a great mix of swimming, sailing and kayaking. Lunch was epic and delicious, if you take this tour maybe skip breakfast or eat light, the portions are generous. We also organised a bespoke tour on scooters around Cat Ba Island, to the National Park, BUTTERFLY valley and the caves. We love being on scooters but are not confident riding ourselves. Great way to see the island. Would highly recommend this company and would use their services again should we return to Cat Ba.

We spent 3 days kayaking in Lan Ha and Halong Bay. It was a beautiful experience. A smaller boat took us into more remote areas where we kayaked and swam for about 6 hours a day. We had yummy lunches during the day. Our paddling took us through caves and into lagoons. We fortunate to see, on several occasions, langurs! At the end of the day we either paddled or were transported to our junk to overnight. The staff, accommodation and food were superb!
Our guide, Ming, was excellent. He easily conversed with us and shared his knowledge of the area and local culture. We totally enjoyed spending time with us.
I should also mention that Mr. Henry, owner, was most helpful during trip planning. He stayed in communication with us in the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, so that we felt confident in moving forward with our plans.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
Our guide, Ming, was excellent. He easily conversed with us and shared his knowledge of the area and local culture. We totally enjoyed spending time with us.

Absolutely wonderful time. We did the 4 day 3 night kayak tour with 2 nights on a well equipped junk (had entire boat to our two families). We were two families with 4 kids age 9-12. Did 4 outings on kayaks to various hidden lagoons and to small beach areas. Went between lan ha and ha long bay. Day 3 and 4 were hiking and biking through the national park and small village. Our guide Mong was phenomenal. Patient, kind, accommodating, cheerful, and resourceful! He constructed a bridge out of vines to navigate us across a stream! We could not have imagined a better way to end our 2 week tour of Vietnam.

We had 3 amazing days arranged by Mr Henry for us two . We were accompanied by Mong who was a wonderful, careful guide who showed and explained us the mysteries of local wildlife, customs and food . And anything we asked about. Moreover, he was a very good companion with a sense of humour . We have spent one night in the floating homestay, and the other night in the junk boat. Both accomodations were great, and the views were unforgetable. We were absolutely impressed with amazing, differentiated food, with alll these numerous delicious dishes, many of them containing wonderful seafood. We also made a tour by a boat and the captain prepared us another wonderful lunch. The boat stopped somewhere in the bay and we got into kayaks. We followed Mong who led us among rocks and caves, and we also visited a wild shore covered with wonderful seashells, On the last day , after leaving the boat , we made with Mong a small biking tour and trekking in the jungle. The jungle full of incredible plants, flowers and bird voices.
Thank you Mr Henry and thank you Mong for the amazing time and beautiful memories.
