Review - This review is based on 2 great highlights of our trip whilst in Hanoi, Vietnam. First Alisa Cruise and 2nd Halong Bay (separate reviews for both). First, our cruise, this was scheduled for 2 days 1 night organised via our tour operator in the UK. Alisa proved it’s worth the minute we stepped on board. This was an instant hit, the 21 private suites and cabin were of a high standard which served us well. We knew our short stay would be a comfortable and happy one. In hindsight, a 2 night stay would have been beneficial to enjoy the ambiance and surroundings and allow time to participate in extra activities and recuperate. Ha Long Pearl Farm - Our first taste of this itinerary was on en-route to the port where we stopped at Ha Long Pearl Farm (a licensed company owned by the government) a bit of a respite, and I guess a crafty ‘tourist stop’. Still, it was interesting and good to watch the workings of how pearls are cultured and set in various forms, with the final product displayed in the showroom. The demonstration of this process was attention to detail, understandably the high price tags reflected the painstakingly time and effort put in producing intricate pieces of jewellery. It was a shopping paradise for those who got hungry to loosen their purse strings and come away with a bargain. (Separate review to follow). Port Waiting Area - On arrival at the port we were seated in the waiting lounge, greeted by staff who made us feel welcome. Once ready for boarding we were met by a crew member leading us to Alisa. First impressions fabulous, the exterior had a fresh modern look which was carried throughout, elegant and ready to meet new arrivals. We managed to grab a few photos prior to boarding, and captured “Got the t-shirt” stamp. Checking-in – A smooth transition, warm and welcoming. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. We were shown to our allocated cabins and once settled, our tour manager gave information on the range of activities, which we excitedly signed up for. Our cabin – Immaculate and precision to detail great layout of furniture in such a tight space, genius! The colour scheme in blues & cream was in keeping with the overall look and highly maintained. Power sockets, lighting, and air con (my bug bear!) all in good working order. The bedding & pillows were clean and high quality which made all the difference to getting a good night’s sleep. Amenities conveniently laid out and spotless. Bathroom was airy and spacious with a touch of elegance, with usual toiletries and a slated wooden floor in the shower area. Awesome views overlooking rock formations, sitting silently on the glassy waters of the Bay, this was an ‘Wow & Omg’ moment rolled into one. Activities – A pick & mix of activities e.g. Hiking, Tai Chi, Kayaking, Cooking sessions (in the evening) and various others. We signed up for Kayaking, this was an invigorating and interesting start to the day, highly recommend it. The activity brought alot of fun and laughter as we got off to a bit of a wobbly start, but managed back to the safety point in the given time frame. This was later followed by a hike up to Tip Top Island and Hang Sung Sot Caves, where we wandered around took some interesting photos and walked to a viewing platform admiring the majestic views of the bay. Food – We were a party of veg and non-veg. The vegetarian cuisine was amazing! Varied and plentiful everything fresh and super yummy. The food was executed to the highest standards, not only in taste but presentation also. Staff were brilliant and efficient (not hovering over us and in your face). The food just kept coming large portions of starters and mains. We were pleasantly surprised the Vietnamese vegetarian dishes took a new spin on things, simple yet tasty. We struggled to leave room for the amazing desserts they were high 'calorific killers', but we didn’t care lol! delicious cakes, fruits, jellies etc. Vegetarian food can be hit or miss in this part of the world, but this dining experience exceeded our expectations. A special thanks to the chefs who went the extra mile to feed our hungry souls. Staff & Management – Brilliant and organised. They were efficient and trained well delivering an impeccable service. Hospitality and engagement with customers was on par a 5 star. The Cruise Manager, (Phillip?) was gracious and pulled out all the stops ensuring our stay wasn’t compromised at any stage. He worked well in unison with our Tour Manager (Rashila) who also took the responsibility in ensuring the group left with a memorable experience. Staff servicing the bar /restaurant/reception/activities were of a high calibre, and happily obliged for photos. Alisa is a very customer orientated cruise whose primary focus is to serve well, and lead by example for others to follow. This is what brought our stay together as a perfect package. On a closing note, would I recommend this cruise? Read the review again! We ended our final evening on the top deck of Alisa Sky Bar, enjoying tropical drinks/snacks, dancing to a mix of music (on requests) and admiring the stillness of the bay. This was our flawless fun adventure, with lots going on which ended beautifully in a calm and serene way. Alisa is well deserving of the 5 star rating. A big shout out to Phillip and crew for an amazing stay, thank you. Indu.

Excellent customer service, I booked and fully paid for a two night cruise for four people. Unfortunately due to the Corona virus we were unable to go. We cancelled the cruise and we received a full refund. This cruise came personally recommended to me and I am so disappointed that we didn’t get to go but hopefully when the world gets back to normal we can rebook with them.

I arranged the cruise through agoda and had a quick response from Nancy at Alisa. I added her number on WhatsApp and she made very good communication with me the whole time. Very professional and friendly 👍 There were things I was not sure about and she arranged the pick up and made it all easy I found this to be cheaper than the off road travel agents. I was surprised that the pick up and drop off were extra and I thought a little dear at 35$ per person. We booked a junior suite originally and we were given an upgrade and the room and bath was very nice.  The 2 day one night seems perfect length of time. The extra day is basically a repeat. The food was varied plentiful and enjoyable. If you are on Hanoi it is worth doing this trip enjoy

All of the staffs are super friendly and polite including the driver who fetched us from the hotel to the harbour. Ms Thuy Trang was our tour guide to sung sont cave and Tip Top island, she also taught us Tai Chi. She was polite and her instructions were clear, she was also very helpful in helping us to take pictures too. We had a great time thanks to all these staffs.
