    Lovely and less crowded
We came here in mid-morning to avoid the crowds and the mid-afternoon heat, which proved to be a prudent decision, as it was already getting hot by 10:30 AM. We had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the beautiful beach, take a dip in the water (which was only cold for the first couple of seconds), and walk along the beach. There’s some shade if you don’t want to get too much sun. Bring your own towels and swim at your own risk, as I didn’t see any lifeguards on duty and the waves can be pretty strong, at least this time of year.

    Calm and very clean
Clean, wide and long beach. There are a lot of places to sunbathe. Also you can find a lot of restaurants where to eat for reasonable prices with friendly service. Massage is everywhere: regular price is 300 Thai baht.

    Fantastic long sandy beach
We have been coming to this beach for over 10 years. Beautiful bay with fine sand. The northern end of the bay has easy access but there are no bars, restaurants or sun beds. These have been cleared by the local authorities in their efforts to remove unlicensed commercialisation. If you go for the day go to the far north end where there is a park area with facilities.

Brilliant beach - lots of bars and restaurants!
Fab beach, lots of bars and restaurants, some fancier (more expensive) beach clubs too day and night if that's your thing. A few locals walk up and down the beach selling various local crafts, kaftans, beach towels, sarrongs, all very cheap, and the people do not hassle you if you do not want to buy like in some other countries! Live music, fire shows of a night at some places, fire works at beach clubs, happy hours (even though things are really cheap anyway), great food, something for everyone. Lack of toilets was a downside for me, but then that's what happens if you're enjoying beach life at little 'shack' bars, very authentic. Something for everyone!

    Beautiful and calm beach
Located on the bustling island of Phukel Bangtao is an oasis. Relatively small beach, fine sand, clear waters. Beautiful Beach Clubs (I recommend the Catch Beach club). Several restaurants on the sand. Compared to other beaches in Phuket, the area for boats and jet skis is relatively small, allowing you to swim freely.

    Beach erosion
The last time I visited Bang Tao beach was in March 2018. Between then and now, late October 2023, it's apparent that there has been a lot of coastal erosion along the beach. The sand level on the beach must be around one meter lower than it was back in 2018 and this erosion has done some damage to a few of the beach front amenities, Such a shame for this wonderful beach. Has this erosion happened over time, or have there been recent storms that have done most of the damage?

    Sea Lice are very itchy!
The beach is lovely. Beautiful sand and lounge chairs are free as long as you buy a drink - even a coke. There is construction everywhere and it is no fun getting to the beach if you are not staying directly on it. The traffic between 4 and 7 is chocked and the roads are very narrow with no sides or sidewalks in most places. They also have a waste water problem where all the hotels direct their sewage right into the water. There is sea lice that feels like a pin prick when they are biting you but don’t get itchy right away. But boy do they get itchy. Expect 2-3 days of being very itchy. I had After Bite and aloe Vera lotion that helped, I read Benadryl helps too. Apparently this is a well known problem along this coast so another beach a bit north or south won’t miss it. I'd say, find a different area to vacation in!

    Better than kata
We stayed in kata and took a taxi ride to bang Tao one day. I prefer bang Tao. Sundebds and bars etc are towards the south end of the beach, not vey much happening in the middle.

Bang Tao appeared to be sophisticated, much building works in the area. However, for the tourist, there is a nice beach, and in the main shopping area a nice marina with many restaurants, bars and clubs. Look harder and for shopping for clothing there’s is not much with this regard, and even less for men, unless you want sports clothes. If you are wanting clothing then you need to go by taxi for about 700 to 800 bhart to Phuket itself. You may want to consider this if you plan to stay in this area, nice beach, nice hotels, good eateries and bars but little on the shopping stores, especially for males.

My wife and myself arrived back in Phuket yesterday for our annual visit and I duly visited one of my favourite places Bang Tao Bay/Beach earlier today.

To my great surprise, there was extensive debris on the area of the beach between rhe Angsana and Dusit Thani Hotel. This was a first for me in over 20 years visiting Bang Tao Beach and - to make things worse - I noticed a sign on the beach by the Dusit Thani advertising the sale of Marijuanna!

As very disappointing and it has resulted in my overall rating going down to 3 Stars - just hope things improve significantly by the and hopefully the time of our next visit!!

Very nice and quiet beach. When we were there it was not very busy and the beach was very clean...very relaxing. We were at the northern part with a few beach side restaurants with very good, tasteful food. Highly recommendable. Food prices from below 100 Baht and the majority 120 - 150/180 Baht.

Bang Tao beach is quieter to compare with other beaches in Phuket. Rather clean and a wonderful place for sunset. Many restaurants along the beach. We stayed at the Banyan Tree last time and they warned us not to swim (because of Jelly Fish?). We believe it’s because the waves can be is strong.

I 've just been back from a 10 days fantastic holiday in Phuket. We stayed in Best Western premier Resort Bang Tao.It was liked a paradise .with beautiful beach frond resort surrounded by manicure gardens with coconut trees and other fantastic flowers.
The staff are over friendly and helpful.Specially BUM is an excellent receptionist. She went over and above her capacity to help me and.my groups with our traveling needs and advisers. I am very happy to recommend the hotel to future travelers to Phuket.
