I visited Phuket Bird Park before leaving Phuket for Bangkok with my wife and as first comment I must say we did enjoy it, but especially because of the birds show, which lasts for about half hour and involve different sorts of exercises that the birds will perform as instructed, like for example doing resolving maths operations, placing rings onto a pole, objects into a basket and others. I particularly enjoyed it when two eagles were involved, who flew into the stage area from the distance to pick up an object from someone's head. Apart from this there are several birds species in the park, residing in their respective cages and to see them all you will need a while. I was surprised to see some otters in the birds' show, which were phenomenal, performing jumps and exercises I wouldn't have expected. For 200 bahts you can feed crocodiles, which to be fair are too many and held in too little a space. Apart from this I think that the entry at the park is overpriced, being the price for adults 500 bahts.

We were a young family of 3, with a 2 year old toddler, so Phuket bird park was on my must do list as per the things to do with kids on sites and forums everywhere. Here is my honest opinion.

Only plan to visit bird park (not phuket bird paradise, its different) if you can make for the bird show timings. Show Times 10.30 am. / 1.30 pm. / 3.30 pm. Otherwise it is a waste of time and invitation to mosquito bites.

The show was good. Kids will enjoy it. My husband was called on stage to participate, so my son enjoyed it more. He got a free art with brush strokes done by birds, in a laminated form. We liked it .

After the show is over, you then decide to go around and see the birds in cages or park. I just didnt liked it. Its stinky everywhere and my arms and neck, whatever skin was exposed got mosquito bites. I didnt want to spend any extra minute anywhere.

So that's my 2 cents.

Visiting this park not cost money paid. Plenty same birds. Staff not pleasant, especially in small parrot cage. You can only make photos with parrots or touch them through 200 bat feeding with few seeds. Even when parrot sits on you staff driving it from you.
Not reccomend for visiting.

Visited today and it was horrible to be there. The cages are ridiculously small for massive birds and they also cram lots of birds into small spaces. It's not like they didn't have the space in the park for bigger cages because there was so much empty space. Can't do much unless you pay extra for it. Walked past the hut where you get your photo taken with a bird (for 200 baht) and the poor birds are just sitting there chained to the post! The show was okay but on the last audience participation trick they chose a volunteer then asked him to cough up 200 baht because the birds were going to land on his arm! So don't volunteer unless you want to pay for it. The whole parks focus is just money money money.

Wouldn't recommend for those who struggle walking. There are some very steep hills.

The whole experience was not worth 500 baht per person and it felt cruel being there. Animals are not properly cared for.

From the outside this location looks amazing
But as you pay the 500 baht youll see that its completely a waste of money

All animals are caged in, if you would like to touch a animal they demand for money!!
And get angry at you for taking pictures
Its a joke.
They want 100 baht to take pictures of parrots

We was shouted at for taking a picture of a small bird and they wanted 100 baht

I would not recommend this place at all especially if you are with your family.

I was ashamed and embarrassed infront of my wife and kids from the way they treated us.

Also they teat the animals really bad, i had a video of the way they slap the bird off my friends arm
And said “100 baht” no picture
I can only upload pictures.

You can walk through the bird park in 20 min. The double pricing for foreigners (500 baht) and locals (100-150) is laughable and ridiculous. The show is lame and is just bunch of staff members yelling names and words that don't make sense. Their sound system is set at a setting where its loud enough for an audience of 200 people, when there was barely 10 of us in audience. Ear plugs are highly recommended. It was like going to a rock concert with terrible singers and an even worse broken sound system. They place is also crawling with bugs, termites and mosquitoes. Been to many bird parks around the world and this is more like someone's backyard full of sad looking birds in cages way too small. many birds seem to have some sort of skin rash and some were lucky to have feathers at all. It's baffling how wild life conservationists or Green Peace hasn't come to shut down the place for animal cruelty and exploitation. If you're sensitive to animal cruelty, this isn't the place for you.

We visited today and it was 500 baht each for an adult. Many of the cages were too small for the breeds of bird, there was a very timid goat who appeared afraid of humans and a baby goat was left in a turkey cage without its mother.
I also noticed a parrot with no feathers on its chest, which I know is a sign of stress as it plucks its own feathers out.
You can feed the crocodiles, ostrich, goats, birds etc at an additional cost which I think is unreasonable as the workers hassle you to do the activities.
We also came inches away from a giant golden orb weaver spider which was on a big web next to one of the bird enclosures, this is quite dangerous and they should remove these insects as they could harm a child.
Also, during the bird show they asked for volunteers multiple times. They didn't speak very good English and asked for another volunteer, I put my hand up as nobody else did. They asked me to pay 100 baht for a picture with a parrot when I thought i was just volunteering, I was pressured to pay as everyone was watching. The workers didn't really make an effort and didn't look like they enjoyed their job.

However, we saw some nice breeds of birds and it was fun to be close to the crocodiles. I wouldn't take a child here as the spider made me wary.

Just finished visitting Phuket Bird Parc, and to wrap everything under one word: sad. The birds are locked in tiny cages, no room even to spread their wings, sone of them were sick (some sort of skin rash) and the price ticket was to high: 500bht for adult and 300bht for kids. Do yourself a favor and spend those money and something else.

Obviously it’s hot everywhere in Phuket but there was no escaping the heat here. The park itself smells and the animals/birds are kept in relatively small cages and in horrible conditions. There is a little section where you can feed some rabbits, goats and ducks. All of these animals were panting and uncomfortable. There were a couple of rabbits which looked very sick (not moving and squished tails) I asked the man standing with the rabbits if “that one is ok?” He proceeded to give it a nudge and smiled and said no. I said is it sick? Yes sick.... we were there for approximately 20 mins in total (didn’t watch the bird show so can’t comment on that).
Poor animals, poor birds... don’t spend the 500baht each going here. Skip this. Skip Phuket zoo and anything to do with animals really (unless it’s rehabilitation or sanctuary) because you’ll realise at the end your money just supported the poor treatment of animals.
