This is a beautiful island. We found a starfish that washed up! There were some food stands and snorkeling equipment rental place. We stopped here as part of a boat tour.

Some might find it over crowded as it gets crowded during noon but still the water & beaches are very clean & plenty of water sports for the kids. Best would be stay at some resort on Coral Island itself.

Racha yai offers by far the best snorkeling. But if the wind is up, the trip to coral island is much more protected.

Coral Island Booking on the beach? (3 Replies)
Hi, i am travelling to thailand this weekend. Is it worth visiting Coral Islands and if so, is it anu cheaper if its booked from operators on the beach?

Most first time tourists visit. Many enjoy it, especially the hordes of Chinese who go every day. If the sea is choppy think twice about going as most years one or more boats meet with an accident, sometimes involving loss of life. The cheapest way to go is on the public ferry from Bali Hai pier. The most expensive would be to charter a speedboat.
