I hired a private trip koh samui and nearby is day day tour , paid 14,000 bhat ( most of them offer for 1000 bhat as no tourist abs at the pier you can negotiate which I cane to know later ) the boat was good the guide was great but they were in a rush . Though I booked a totally private your still they had one additional lady on the boat when asked who is she the guide said from boat company who will help to take under water pictures while swimmingly the sea and would deliver the pictures as part of the rental deal but since they didn’t give those pictures I refused to hire next day abs that lady who was uninvited seating on the front seat while I was oks Ed at the back of the boat didn’t deliver those pictures stating First they are busy and after a week said the camera broke down where as after taking pictures she showed me how they came and said as soon as I’m at dhore they send them to me , but till date after 10 days nothing . Do not hire this The Guide Thailand guy in Phuket unless you want to get ripped off abs he is just a middle man . Contact your hotel concierge or go directly to pier there are hundreds of boats waiting for a better deal .
The only reason they didn’t give me my pictures because I came to know the truth and canceled right away upon arrival on shore my next trip with this guy called Mr. Woody . Desperate for advance saying how busy it is but trust me during this COVID period there is no rush at all , ask any local residents they will yell you . Guys like Mr. Woody gives a bad name to Thailand name and it’s tourism sector . I would request you to to go to Phuket first abs arrange trips from there . I ended up paying thousands of bhat more at this low or off season by trusting him blindly . Joie you all will not make the same mistake .

This hotel was previously named "the Charm hotel". This is a budget hotel but that didn't look like it too much from the photo's on the booking sites. Well, it is. They do have a decent room, though, that we didn't get at first. We were put in room 204 which is at the back. The room didn't really look like the photo's we saw. It was very basic, with a concrete finish on the bathroom wall. The bathroom was like a regular sauna (and we know sauna's) and the temp never went down much. There was no closet. A small fridge was provided for and even some contraption appearantly to make hot water. No idea what for. No coffee or tea stuff there. The airco worked well and so did the shower itself. The beds were the usual hard Asian style. The worst part was the balcony. If you like to enjoy your evening there with a drink to contemplate your day, trust me, you can't. Not even because of the size, the lack of decent chairs (only plastic diabolo stools), not even because of the absence of a table, but because of the horrific smell of the open sewer that runs under you balcony.
We showed the staff their photo's on Booking.com and asked for a room change. Which we were given the next day. That room proved to be more like it.
We wanted to extend our stay for a day but they said that they were booked solid. Yeah right. We checked out and found a suitable room for the last evening close by. (Better room for less)
Is this a bad hotel? Well, no. The staff is friendly enough (although looking sour when they learned we booked ferry passage and a daytrip elsewhere -they sell all the trips too-). The breakfast is simple but ok for a budget hotel. And we were even offerend an early breakfast when we went on a trip early. So they do try. The location is perfect. Only a few minutes walk from the streets with all the eateries and shops. But beware what room you get.
A tip? Want to rent a scooter? Better not next door. We did, but upon pickup time the lady had rented it out to someone else. We had a good and cheap experience down the street where the hotel is, straight passed the small roundabout and then on your left hand side. Decent people that we also booked a trip and ferry passage with as they deserved the business.
If this review was usefull to you, please vote "thumbs up" so I know I was of help to you. Enjoy your stay in Kata.
