Looked okay from outside but as soon as walked in wanted to go straight back out.looked run down to point should be closed down was fifthy dirty animals were in dirty rusty cages looked in very poor health. Walked past tiger cage people were feeding leaves though cage it was that close so hungry was eating leaves ,couldn't belevie they could get that close to a tiger ,he looked thin and very sad.crocadies show was on 2 men dragging them into fifthy green water and and putting sticks in their mouths forcing their mouths open ,really vile people .walked passed elehants standing in a pooh covered wet floor ,most cages were empty thank God as couldn't bare to see any more suffering, areas piled in rubbish and just so run down .went to gate were played complained that the whole place was run down no animals should be in those conditions she just turned away .we have been to zoos all over the world on our trips we have never been to such a poor dirty tip that call it self a zoo ,should be closed down and all the poor animals taken out.we were only in Phuket the day from a cruise ship but will never forget the poor animals .when home credit card statement came admission was 75 pound for 2 adults for the worst experience ever if I could report them to animal welfare but don't know how as Thailand they clearly don't check animal welfare in Thailand as there's no way that would be open .please avoid at all costs as was so upsetting walked out after 45 mins .

Animals look nothing like this, they live in concrete floor cages and are very skinny and just pace from side to side. Poor elephants live in a concrete pen as well and only get out to do their shows. Crocodiles live in filthy green water. The whole place looks like its been closed for years as so run down.

This is just scam. The cost of ticket is really out of mind for what you get. Shows was terrible, it was abandoned, no animals, nobody cares of them, aquarium was closed. The main attraction was in ruin and without animals. It was terrible waste of money and time for my family. It ruin our day. So don't go there. Even if the entrance will be ten times less it is still not worth it. Adult is for 1500 and children's 1200.

Really sad to see how the monkeys at the monkey show, where in a metallic chain around their neck. One of the monkeys where trying to escape multiple times and the orangutan was beaten in the back, when he didn’t want to do the bicycle trick anymore. A lot of the animals didn’t have water in their cages and that’s a basic need. I left with a feeling, I don’t expect to have, when I go to the zoo. The elephants was chained and didn’t have water either. This was animal abuse and I’m so sad, that I didn’t know before I went there.

This being my first time to Thailand i was extremely excited to visit the Phuket Zoo, taking pictures with the tigers and baby monkeys, seeing all the shows, elephant, monkey and crocodile. When we went to take a picture with the beautiful tiger he was having a little nap, to my absolute horror and disgrace the man hit the tiger on the head with a stick and than conituned to hit him with until he roared to make a "good picture".Than the man got the baby tiger out of its cage ( which mind you was the size of the tiger giving it no room to move) he than smacked it so hard on the head that i got hear the smack from 3 meters away.We than contiuned to walk down to the corcodile show only to walkpast an encloser where there were any where between 50-100 corcs , the encloser was tiny they were laying ontop of each other with a tiny little pond in between. The Elephant show was nothin but sad, i found it very hard to find it funny after seeing them locked up and chained all day long with only a foot of chain to move around in. The birds cages were tiny not enogh room for them to even spread their wings. I could go on and on all day about the poor treatment of the animals at the Phuket Zoo, i strongly advsie that YOU DONT VISIT THIS ZOO, who gives humans the right to take beautiful animals from the wild and cage them in such horrbile living conditions?? I have been to many Zoo's over Australia and there is no way in this world that they would allow animals to live in such hidieous living conditions. Don't pay these people any of your money because i guarntee that the money does not go to the animals. If you can honestly say there is nothing wrong with the Phuket Zoo than you sould be nothing but disgusted in your self.

This place is nothing more than a prison for these animals. The animals are horribly kept and are forced to perform in ridiculous acts. The elephants are chained up and forced to perform. They are obviously in distress as the sway back and forth. This one baby elephant was very thin and quietly sucks on his trunk trying to comfort itself and is force to also perform. When not preforming he is chained and required to stand all day while people take pics. Just had me in tears.

The monkey and orangutan are awful as well. Very over crowded. They chain up tigers and sedate them so people can walk by poking at them and taking pics. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

The animals living area is nothing but a jail cell. A lot of them just live on concrete floors. What animals lives on concrete floors!

Please do NOT go to this zoo. I only pray it gets shut down and those poor innocent animals can go to a sanctuary.

A baby and two adult elephants banged their heads up and down and side to side, and held a leg up while the zoo played loud rave music. The infant elephant, dubbed “a real-life Dumbo”, is made to join “distressing” performances up to three times a day. The elephants get beaten with a bullhook regularly. The place is filthy and the animals are in bad shape. This horror place needs to get shut down!

Honestly, why does this place still exist? The treatment of animals is horrific. If I could, I would give it a MINUS 5! Elephants were being beaten and forced to perform, one of them a BABY, possibly only 1 or 2 years old. Made to do all sorts of "tricks" in the name of "tourist entertainment", and being left mal-nuroushed and in distress. PHUKET ZOO is really a horrible place. Stay away and don't waste your time or money here.

This place is not a zoo, it is a wasteland. This place is not well maintained. It’s filthy and it smells like a dump. You can walk that dump in less than 5 minutes and you will see not even animals but prisoners. They have a baby monkey that they have caged in a dark garage, not even out in the open with the other animals. I mean prisoners. The entry fee is 1500 BAHT for adults and the posted sign at the ticket booth says that you can take pictures with all the animals for no additional charge. When you get inside, there is another sign that says you may take pictures with all of the animals for 300 BAHT. They are falsely advertising services that are not being provided. They do not have over 150 animals in that place. The “shows” are not entertaining at all. If you want to see a monkey on a leash being dragged around, throw a basketball in a hoop, and pull a string off of your arm then go for it. If not, please save your BAHT and go to a zoo somewhere else because Phucket is not it.

Made the mistake of visiting the zoo without reading reviews..
It was so very sad to see the state of the animals.Just wonder what the $150 entrance fee actually covers ??
Their housing, NO water for the Gibbons, aquarium closed, everyone more worried about tips than looking after the animals.
This place should be closed... unless rescued and revamped.
Pity I can’t give a negative rating.😡😡
