I loved my elephant ride, ox cart ride and the river ride, BUT, too much up-selling of bananas, Photos, etc. I am extremely upset about how filthy the bathrooms were (black toilet bowls)! Come on management. You are operating a tourist attraction- be professional! Have...More
Please, for the love of elephants and animals DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS!!! The animals here are used and abused. Go to hutsadin instead. They bought neglected elephants from elephant village to take care of. They do not hassle you for tips, only gently ask...More
The website for elephant village (at least in English) forces you to book a package. I find the price point to be expensive.
I booked the Combination package that was supposed to take 4 hrs but it only took 3 hrs and 1 hr of...More
We signed up for this activity because we liked the idea of riding on elephants. We got there in time and were asked to wait 45 minutes for another group that was coming. Truth was that they take the opportunity to sell you food for...More
It was heartbreaking when we saw how old and tiring were the elephants but still continue to work for the tourist, seems like they have been tortured and very scared to their masters. Elephant's tusk was cut and locals made it accessories and sell it...More
I had a ride on an elephant with a young male mahout who at one stage hopped off the elephant. Did not like the guide near the end of the trip trying to get me to buy trinkets from him. Overall a good experience with...More
PLEASE be cautious going here!!!! The treatment of these elephants is DISGUSTING! Initatially oblivious to the dangers of this industry, myself and my family rode the elephants only to witness abuse by the workers. The elephants were beaten, whipped, chained and at one point, myself...More
Whilst I'm not a big wrap for elephant farms, this one is better than others I've seen, the rides are shorter and at reasonable prices, the rides are done off the main roads and they appear to select elephants based on the size of the...More

Thanks for your answer. The Elephant Nature Park is a lovely sanctuary where you work alongside the Ellies and observe them but they are never ridden. They are almost all rescued from various places. The trouble is every elephant that gives rides or is in shows may not look badly treated to you but would have gone through Breaking the Spirit which is an horrendously cruel act. People are learning, Thai and tourists but it has a long way to go but unless this cruelty is pointed out no one will learn. I myself did not realise about this cruel act until visiting ENP which shows a film on this Breaking the Spirit to show the problems it causes then focuses on the lucky ones at the sanctuary and the inroads being made. It is run by an amazing Thai lady called Lek and is the way the tourism should be going.
