Over the Last few years from going to Pattaya, all I can say is this Beach has improved magnificently, has been made nice and Wide now, and Cleaned up loads, the added bonus of No-Smoking is a bonus for us
Fantastic for couples, Families or...More
The beach area is being extended and improved. You still have the seats under plastic where the work has been completed. However, there appears to be better public spaces to use. The sea is still very polluted with plastic waste, but they may be trying...More
There are plenty of other pretty places inThailand but Pattaya is far from it. It is a place only good for shopping, food and Yes (the naughty bars). The beach sand is not dirty but the sea water quality is terrible and polluted (night time...More
The refurbishment (called ' nourishment' i.e. widening on the beach) looks nearly completed. It's just a shame that myself like other's in the know and the locals wont dip a toe in the water as it's supposed to be so polluted. Walking on the sand...More
Nice recently widened beach around 3km long .Beds and sunshade dotted all the way along and roped off designated swimming areas. You can buy food and fruit and clothes directly on the beach. Reccomend Prawns 10 for 100 baht.
Pattaya Beach is undergoing renovation (Jan 2019). So instead of a thin strip of sand, the sea is about 5 times further away.
Before you didn’t really have any choice but to sit on the chairs provided by the beach vendors and buy food and...More
There is a great deal of trash on the beach. I was here last year same time and dont recall it being this bad. They have done a great deal of work improving the beach but something has to be done regarding the trash.
Hallo, my husband and I would like to go to Ko Lipe but we still can't decide where to stay: we would like to have some swimming and some snorkeling, but we don't like crowded places with a lot of music and longtail boat. Could someone help us to decide? Many thanks.

Hi, Probably better not to stay on Pattaya beach, although it's beautiful with the softest sand and decent snorkling, it's very crowded these days and the beach is lined with hotels and bars. The bay itself is pretty busy with longtails as it's the main arrival point on the island, although the eastern end is a bit quieter. I'd be inclined to look at staying on sunset beach or maybe sunrise beach as they are a bit less busy. cheers
lockers and where to store valuables while snorkeling (2 Replies)
Hello, I'm thnking about taking a day trip out to Ko Lipe, and wanted to know about lockers and places where we could store our things (cameras, wallets, bags) while we go snorkeling. We plan on visiting all beaches and spend most of our time on Pattaya Beach. It would be nice if there were lockers we could rent so that we could go snorkeling comfortably... anyone have any information and pricing?? Where are the facilities at?? Are they on all the beaches?? As a side note, I'll be...More

Didn't reply to your Langkawi-Koh Lipe question: Last year we were booked in to take the ferry from Kuah (main town) and were told to show up at the ticket office at 8. No one there, finally a man came and told us we had to take a taxi to Telaga Terminal in the North West part of Langkawi, back and forth, fianally a call to Tiger Lines in Thailand( God knows what that cost in roaming charges on my Norwegian phone) and a 35 RM taxi ride, endless waiting and finally we were allowed to exchange...More
