Beach Road is all about the atmosphere - the nightlife... the action, and not so much about the beach.

The beaches in this area are a little of a let-down, since the water in not that beautiful BLUE that you usually see in the travel prospects... but a grayish colour. Not as clean as I hoped for... so spent most of the "sun-bathing" time in the hotel pool. I suppose that is the reason why people go to the islands for beaches... and Pattaya for - well... "alternative" types of activity.

As to the road itself, as mentioned above... it is all about the nightlife. In COVID times... very... VERY tranquil compared to the other times that I was here.

Walking up and down the road after dinner... and having most of the activity in the "Walking Street" closed... there are many "working girls" (you know what I mean) all the way up and down the road... hoping for someone to pick them up - at a fee.

I have been to Beach Road numerous times during my multiple visits to Pattaya. Beach Road isn’t really about the beach, or the road. It’s about the atmosphere that is created by both of them in this location. See it for what it is. Enjoy the parts you want to enjoy and avoid the parts you don’t. But definitely give it a visit. While you are there, I can recommend a wonderful spot to relax, have a bite to eat, and have a beer. Stop into stand #115 for fantastic service. Heck, you can even get a massage and have your nails done!

If you're looking to spend a pleasant day on the beach, go to Jomtien beach. Even after the addition of what feels like builder's sand, this is not my idea of a pleasant beach.
There are plenty of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. but few are particularly attractive and quite a few are expensive.

On one side you have bars, shops, shopping malls, hotels and restaurants. Some great places to have a ice cold beer or coffee and just do some people watching or just shielding yourself from the scorching sun. The promenade side is shaded by trees with benches scattered along here and there. There are many places to buy a cool drink or buy fresh melon and coconuts. If you want to sit on the beach, there are plenty of deckchairs to shelter from the hot sun, or from the occasional heavy downpours that can happen at anytime. The beach is relatively clean but unfortunately not so much the sea water. The only other negative, apart from the sea quality, is that getting across the road is not for the faint hearted.

For supposedly a world class tourist area, the poor sidewalks (crowded with parked motor taxis and lacking traffic lights and crosswalks) makes this area substandard and detracts from the few positive aspects. Also various tourist hustles.

Pattaya beach road gets you on the beach. You can walk in the water or sidewalk but still just as much fun.
Carts selling coconut, fruits etc on your way.
A little noisy and busy road with cars and motorcycles driving by but after a while that noice fades away with the view and the feel of the warm sand on your feet.

Walked Beach Road every day for a month. Always something going on and enjoyed the exercise park and the plastic bottle animals.

Also enjoyed the Beach Festival and the Jomtien Night Market.
