    Beach beach with trash issue
Island Koh Larn is about 2 hrs drive from Bangkok. You to take a ferry or speed boat from Pattaya City. It is about 200 bahts round trip speedboat. The speedboat ride is about 15 mins. We stayed in Tawaen Beach area. So we got on a motorcycle taxi to our resort about 40 bahts each way. Tawaen Beach is amazing. White sandy beach. Water is really clear and warm. Not much in term of night life at Tawaen, but there is an outdoor live music where you can sit back and relax. Order some food or drinks. Sadly the beach has trash issue. Hopefully the local govt can educate locals as well as tourists no to litter. Would definitely come back again. Good for weekend getaway

This would be a great beach but it's mobbed with thousands of Indian tourists who constantly stare at western women. I was also verbally abused by a group of Indian guys hanging outside a toilet block for no reason. Another problem is the amount of rubbish in the sea, plastic bags etc

Most overcrowded and over turisted beach in Koh Larn. Every meter you being shouted at "Buy this and buy that". If you looking for island experience - Stay away from this part of the island as Koh Larn has beautiful beaches away from this place.

Nice place, every half an hour one can get ferry. In the beach one can have a lot of things to do like viewing under water scenes, paracycling, water motor cycling, speed boat and many more things to do. But as one of the busiest tourist places it doesn't have enough amenities like hygienic food stalls, rooms to take shower and changing rooms etc.

This must be among the few places in Thailand where the locals are is grumpy, hotels over priced, and you can count more human heads in the small tiny beaches than grains of sand.

That is Tawaen for you.

Getting here was a pain - boats for Tawaen leave only once every 2 hours. So I had to take a speed boat. Bad decision. It started pouring cats and dogs en route. The speed boats land on the beach, which means you need to waddle 200 metres through the water - impossible with luggage in rains that looked straight out of Vietnam of Forrest Gump!

The beach is very small and is FILLED with beach chairs and noisy tourists. I have no idea WHY one should come all the way from Pattaya to here to see something that you can see in Pattaya!

The only good time to be in the beach is before 9 am and after 6 pm - when the place is bereft of tourists (there are very few hotels here - all restaurants are only open in the day and shut shop by 6)
Btw, there are NO CORALS or REEFS here - (the person who called this island coral island must have had some imagination). I spent all morning snorkelling - visibility is not so good. The only thing that made this trip worthwhile for me was the box fish that kept fluttering near me.

So heed my advice, do not waste your time coming to Tawaen. You are better off staying in Pattaya!

PS - the beach and waters look good in photos.

Very busy and crowded. If you want to relax, catch a shared car ride to another beach. All beaches on the island are less crowded than Tawaen Beach.

From Bali Hai Pier, it costs 30 baht by ferry. Takes up to one hour. Beach is nice. Clean, lots of chairs, tourists, and some restaurants. Beach is better than one in Pattaya. Food and drink are expensive. Bring your own. Don't take speed boats from Pattaya beach. Over priced and ferry ride is relaxing.

First, people were so many so it was so crowded, and there were not many things to do. I did snorkeling and seawalking but it was not that good. I don't recommend to do snorkeling and seawalking because there are few fish(only black small fish), and the water is so muddy. It is good to visit for short time, but it is not good to enjoy sea sports.

Tawaen Beach is the main Beach on the popular Koh Larn Island, which is just a 30 minutes ride by slow boat from the Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. Boats are available every hour or so both on the way up as well as down. Speed Boats are also available & in case you are interested in Water Sports, they are also available at the Beach. You must however remember to take the Boat to the Tawaen Beach Pier & not the one to the Na Ban Pier which is also nearby. If however you do get mixed up, you can get a shared ride from the Na Ban Pier to Tawaen Beach for just 20 Bath per head. The Beach is very beautiful with clear water, plenty of Restaurants/Bars all around & dedicated areas for Swimming & Speed Boats/Water Sports, which makes it very safe. Paid Toilet facilities are also available all over the place. It is indeed a great place to spend the day at and return to Pattaya City in the early evening.

This is my third time to koh larn and I always stay at this beach, it is the biggest sand beach in the island and the cleanest one as well.

You have to keep in mind that the prices are also touristic the same as most of the island.

On this beach you will have many many restaurants and hotels with medium priced offers (1500-2500 baht).

The most amazing thing on this beach is the sunset and after 7pm, there is no one on the beach and it's totally empty which would make you love to have a small meal with a drink and relax to the sound of waves under the moon. (Romantic, am I?)
