Dirty water, overcrowded, hundreds of the speed boats and water scooters make air unbreathable and create unbearable noise. Food and services are overpriced comparing to other places in Thailand. Try going to the Monkey beach, same island.

This would be a great beach but it's mobbed with thousands of Indian tourists who constantly stare at western women. I was also verbally abused by a group of Indian guys hanging outside a toilet block for no reason. Another problem is the amount of rubbish in the sea, plastic bags etc

Most overcrowded and over turisted beach in Koh Larn. Every meter you being shouted at "Buy this and buy that". If you looking for island experience - Stay away from this part of the island as Koh Larn has beautiful beaches away from this place.

Nice place, every half an hour one can get ferry. In the beach one can have a lot of things to do like viewing under water scenes, paracycling, water motor cycling, speed boat and many more things to do. But as one of the busiest tourist places it doesn't have enough amenities like hygienic food stalls, rooms to take shower and changing rooms etc.

This must be among the few places in Thailand where the locals are is grumpy, hotels over priced, and you can count more human heads in the small tiny beaches than grains of sand.
That is Tawaen for you.
Getting here was a pain - boats for Tawaen leave only once every 2 hours. So I had to take a speed boat. Bad decision. It started pouring cats and dogs en route. The speed boats land on the beach, which means you need to waddle 200 metres through the water - impossible with luggage in rains that looked straight out of Vietnam of Forrest Gump!
The beach is very small and is FILLED with beach chairs and noisy tourists. I have no idea WHY one should come all the way from Pattaya to here to see something that you can see in Pattaya!
The only good time to be in the beach is before 9 am and after 6 pm - when the place is bereft of tourists (there are very few hotels here - all restaurants are only open in the day and shut shop by 6)
Btw, there are NO CORALS or REEFS here - (the person who called this island coral island must have had some imagination). I spent all morning snorkelling - visibility is not so good. The only thing that made this trip worthwhile for me was the box fish that kept fluttering near me.
So heed my advice, do not waste your time coming to Tawaen. You are better off staying in Pattaya!
PS - the beach and waters look good in photos.

This beach is absolutely beautiful! Beautiful sand, clear blue water... just Devine that's until the hoards of day tourists arrive.
It gets extremely busy with Chinese and Indian tourists... they arrive between 7.30 and leave around 4-5 which then the beach returns to the gorgeous beach that it is.
Tip: if you are staying on the island visit other beaches during this time. One of the members from our party got harassed inappropriately by some of the Chinese male tourists which put a damper on our stay so we moved beaches.

Very busy and crowded. If you want to relax, catch a shared car ride to another beach. All beaches on the island are less crowded than Tawaen Beach.

Koh Larn is overcrowded and dirty, beach is dangerous because of the many ships, there come every day more than 200 ships to the small beaches. Food is overpriced and you can get diarrhea. The jet ski operator often cheat the customer.
In Phuket are much better islands and beaches, clean water and not so many dangerous ships.

From Bali Hai Pier, it costs 30 baht by ferry. Takes up to one hour. Beach is nice. Clean, lots of chairs, tourists, and some restaurants. Beach is better than one in Pattaya. Food and drink are expensive. Bring your own. Don't take speed boats from Pattaya beach. Over priced and ferry ride is relaxing.

How to go to Tien Beach or Samae Beach from Pattaya Pier. Is there any direct ferry from Pattaya Pier to Tien Beach or Samae Beach, so there is no need to take the car from the Tawaen Beach?

I have just booked one night at Aranta Airport Hotel. I just want to give the hotel my flight number and the arrival time, in order to arrange an airport shuttle pick-up. Can anyone tell me their email as I don't know how to contact them.
Thanks in advance.
