This place has it all. Want an original Black Velvet painting of elephant no problem. Nic nacks made in China they got em. To top it off. I had lunch at what looked to be an authentic Thia restaurant and had the Blandest PadThia ever. If you go, watch for the fleece job by the oversized golf cart at the entrance. It Free, it takes you right past the village to the cheezest massage museum ever and relieves you of your entrance coupon immediately before you have a clue what's up. The driver won't stop no matter what so once you're onboard, be prepared to jump for it!!

Took my German friends there and they tried to double charge us. 200 baht each at entry and were told another 200 baht for any activity inside. As I read and speak Thai I asked them in Thai “why do you double charge when Thai people go in for free”. No answer.......so needless to say we left and enjoyed other legitimate places. Avoid at all costs.

This place is a total rip-off. They charge foreigners 200 Baht to enter but Thais enter for free.
Once inside it’s the usual tat for sale but grossly overpriced.
Definitely not worth visiting even if you can enter for free.

This place practices dual pricing, charging 200 baht for foreigners (regardless of residency/taxpayer status) while Thais (and those who pass as Thai) enter for free. Whether or not you are bothered by dual pricing, this place is not worth the 200 baht charged. It is crowded and over-commercialized, robbing visitors of the authentic floating market experience. There are far better markets to be found in Thailand, so don’t waste your time and money here. :)

I booked the entry ticket through Klook and paid 180 Baht per person while on the counter it costs you 200 Baht. There are number of options for boating. Do not get carried away, i can vouch it is a really waste of money to be boating around. More so over it is generally a relatively small area and you need to stop and visit at all the places to enjoy, boating can be done at some other location.
Do not miss the Thai Boxing and the Slippery Boxing shows. They are really amazing.
There are a plenty of options to purchase souvenir, fancy clothes and also Thai food. If you want something rare then try CROCODILE BBQ.

The floating market is one of the hidden gems in Pattaya and a bit out of the main city. You get quality products here at good prices. However, they charge an entry fee of 200 bahts per person for foreigners. It's free for thai people

Unfortunately the novelty of this place soon wears off. 200 Baht per person entry fee, they try and sell you other more expensive combo packages and do not mention that "admission only" tickets are available. Lucky I did my research before hand.
This place was empty I assume from the lack of Chinese due to coronavirus. Walking around was like a ghost town and no atmosphere. But in any case, it is difficult to navigate around and most of the stalls are very repetitive and nothing original whatsoever.
The food and drink offering is OK but nothing unique to what you can find on the street.
Not worth the entry charge, and unfortunately I would agree with what others have said- tourist trap - most certainly.

Pretty sad experience. Typical tourist trap with hundreds of shops selling unimaginative slinky souvenirs.
Don't spend 800-900 baht being paddled around in the blazing sun. You can walk around for 200 baht, though why you should pay anything to walk around a bunch of listless vendors and squawking ice cream hawkers beats the hell out of me.
Nothing authentic, a 3rd rate wrestling on the slippery pole by two guys as bored as the visitors were.
That said, the food I ate was OK and I did enjoy the Ganesha shrine there.

It was only by reading other reviews after our visit that we could see that there was also a walking option, which would of suited us much better because climbing in and out of a boat when we’re older than we like to admit, is rather difficult.
Most of the stalls had signs saying no photos they were just after your money. After spending £150 just to get in the place (for 2 of us) I wasn’t going to spend anymore money on total rubbish.
To rub salt into the wounds we discovered if you were Thai you could actually go in for free.
We seemed to be the only Westerners there today. Which explains why.

There is not much that this place has going for it. They have duel pricing. Thai people or people that look Thai are free. Foreigners are 200 baht each. Inside is just overpriced food and souvenirs that you could have anywhere. It is not a real floating market. Just a manmade structure made 14 years ago to cash in on tourists. There has been litte to no upkeep since then and the wooden structures are falling apart. They make deals with Thai and Chinese tour groups to stay afloat (pun intended). Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Hi may I ask, is it worth it to go to the floating market? I read there were fee charged to go there? I thought it is an open place.
Besides floating market what else can we do there?
Roughly how much is the massage services there?
Gosh i will be there for 3 days hope it is worthwhile.

Foreigner entry fee is 200 baht.
Not really worth it. If you want to see a genuine market, there are dozens about. It's nothing more than a tourist trap selling tourist rubbish priced far above normal market prices. After all, it's little more than an open air mall.

Hello Abu Salim,
Sorry for the late reply. I have been away from the computer too long :(
As Pattaya City is large - from any point a taxi drive would be between 20-30 minutes. It is true.
Traffic is busy and parking hard to find.
Hiring a paid-driver would offer you the most convenience and comfort, so you and your fellow traveling friends / family have no stress and do not need to navigate anything to get there safely.
Unlike where I live, Canada, Thai Driver's will pick you up AND drop you off when you are finished at any exhibit.
Furthermore, (and of most benefit to us) - they also wait for you and you do not need to find another driver to take you back to your hotel!
The price is not high and you have every confidence this way to know that you can go to and from activities and enjoy them without needing to plan routes or find alternate ways to get back home.
It is a wonderful system. Your hotel front desk can help you arrange a paid-driver to provide this service.
Please do not try to navigate the public transit system, unless you are very clear on your route and are fluent in the language.
I hope this helps!
Safe Travels!

Its bit far from the city. You will have to hire a taxi from the hotel which will take you to the floating market. It will be almost 30min ride. You should hire same taxi to go and come back otherwise you will not get any transportation from there.
If you will contact to some travel agent then he will book your tickets in advance and they will give you the coupons to show it at the entrance. But you can go by yourself also and book the ticket at the counter also. There not much difference in rates.
Cost it apx 300baht per person.

I’m planning to go pattaya next month and has book a van for family of 8. I would like to know is the floating market worth going and how much is the entrance fee?
Written May 13, 2018
Only Entrance fee is 200 BHT/person , then they have lot of different plans like Entrance with boating or Buffet lunch. And they charge around 800 or 1000 bht / person.
You may visit it once and it depends person to person if they like it or not.
