We have been tomthis beach many times. Lovely. Now that Covid has struck when will we see it again? Tourism in Thailand virtually ceased. Closed down. How will the locals survive? They were mainly quite poor even before Covid. The beach is nice.

I have been to this beach. Feeling that the sea is clear There is a bar to sit and sip chill beer. Suitable for anyone who loves Patee. Close to the beach, I recommend this place. And if we're hungry, we can easily stop in and buy things. Because this beach is close to both the mall and the market, it's all there. For any friends who like to sit and drink at the seaside. The atmosphere is lively. I recommend this place. I guarantee you won't be disappointed 😊

We on the Beach near the Sheraton Hotel. The Beach is real nice, clean, white sand. It is difficult to find good beaches near Villages this days. This one is still great. Hope they can keep it clean. Its a delight after Bali beaches.

So far my favorate place in Thailand (as a whole Island)........sand,sea and sun. This town is busy almost 24 hours a day super resturants, good nightlife (the sex industry is here but not as prolific as some areas). Great shopping, great beach (but the one at Lamai is better) so much to do. Here is a few things i tried............
Rent a car (about £20 per day) or a bike (about £3 per day) go on a boat trip to Ang Thong national park, shoot a wide range of weapons, Namuang waterfalls, Big Buddha, Grandmother and Grandfather rocks, plenty of quiet beaches, Thai boxing maches, Nathon, Lamai town, Crocodile farm, Monkey theatre and don't miss the Lady boy shows especially Christie's (free entry).
For other places of interest see my reviews on Lamai Beach

If you aren't staying in a beach side hotel then don't waiste 2 days trying to find access to the beach, there is none. You have to walk through a random resort to get to it!!! Not happy Jan!!! Resorts shouldn't be built on the beach, the beach isn't theirs!!! I wouldn't return to Koh Samui because of this.

I stayed at Chaweng Beach for 10 nights with my boyf and had a brilliant time. The whole island is amazing, beautiful sun, sea and sand - what more could you want.
It is a really busy place during the evening but during the day it is a bit slower paced and some of the shops/stalls do not start opening til late morning.
The main road (from the beach hotels) has lots of shops and has restaurants and bars to go to of a night. These tend to close around midnight so you get no noise in your hotel. The main 'party' area is a short walk away near the Chaweng Boxing Stadium. Here there are plenty of 'girlie' bars and clubs for those that like partying into the early hours of the morning. The sex industry runs mainly from this part of Chaweng but it is not as bad as some places in Thailand and if you have an open mind you don't bat an eyelid after a couple of hours! My boyf was a bit wary of the ladyboys until he got used to them!!!
Chaweng is great for shopping, sun, sea, beaches, relaxing and partying. Really enjoyed it.

This beach is close to-- but, the beach is "separated" from the other Chaweng beaches by a small river. The whole set of four beaches extend to about 7 Kms/4.4 miles-- but its separation makes for a cleaner, less noisy and crowded beach-- as well as cleaner water for swimming! There are a few resorts/spas, local and tourist restaurants as well as water sports operators-- but NOT crowded like other parts of this "beach complex". Of course it is easy to arrange transport to the nearby town and its larger selection of bars, restaurants, music, massage places etc. For those of us who treasure "peaceful surroundings" on a lovely beach, a visit will be rewarded with wonderful memories!
I hope that this Review has been helpful.

Chaweng beach was always so beautiful, and now is it dirty with plastic, glass, and so much oil and dark dirty???
How is this possible, is it from the boots???
You have to clean the dark troupe.

Its very sad to see how mass tourism has corrupted and sold its soul on Chaweng Beach with everyone chasing money.
Fifteen to twenty years ago Chaweng Beach was voted one of the Top Ten Beaches in the World with its soft white sands, clear blue/green waters and a few beach bars playing music at a listenable and acceptable level.
Twenty years on the beach is packed full with overweight westerners & big groups of noisy Chinese with screaming children.
The once clean beaches are not nearly as well cared for as two decades ago with plastic bags and bottles strewn along the beach. The once clean waters are now murky with a slick of dirt/oil & plastic when the tide goes out.
Food on the beach is very expensive and you are constantly harassed by ice cream sellers, tattoo sellers, food sellers & massage.Music from some beach bars is so loud you cannot hold a conversation without shouting.
The once beautiful seaside bungalows amongst the coconut trees have all but disappeared and the once thick line of coconut trees is very sparse. The bungalows have been replaced by hotel resorts and these will probably be replaced by blocks of apartments same as Pattaya the next time the land leases run out in another ten years or so.
If this is what mass tourism brings to a once beautiful tropical island paradise then you can leave me out!!!

Kann man von Chawaeng Noi Strand beim First House vorbei (durch das First Beach Bungalow) zum Chawaeng Strand gehen oder kommt man nur auf der Straße ins Chawaeng Zentrum.

Are there sunbeds for rent for non-hotel guests? How much are these?
Written January 8, 2018
Hello Anja,
Sorry for the delay of my answer, I do not log in everyday !
Yes, you can rent sun beds almost every where.
Regarding the price, I don’t remember however, try to negotiate if you rent several or(and) during many days.
Enjoy your stay,
Regards,
Serge.

Hi, Going to Koh Samui with 2 mid 30yr old friends and still deciding on area to stay, so many differing opinions! We want quiet accom area but close enough to some nightlife, restaurants etc. Wanting to avoid full moon crowd and having to hire a scooter...so would Chaweng Noi good area you think? Also considering Laima. From what I can see Bo Phut may be too far from night spots and mai naem too quiet...Any advice much appreciated. Jane

Was in Ko Samui 10-12 September. Chosen to stay at Sheraton Samui Resort located at Chaweng Noi Beach. Clean clear water, white sandy beach. Hotel offers hourly shuttle bus at 70 baht person per way to Chaweng Town where all the shopping, eating and clubbing located. Bus stops at Chaweng Lake, opposite Macdonald. Simply walk across the street, walk behind the Macdonald will be Chaweng main street. Very convenient. Quiet hotel, nice beach and entertainment just 15 minutes away (by hotel shuttle bus).
