Small village build and decor with local materials that make the tourist WOW!!! but for Thai people can’t make them feel like that.

Good for the people who like to take a photo. Different decor zone like old home decor, coffee shop or agricultural area. Middle of the area have a big space that is a nice place to take a photo.

One of recommended place for tourism.

I had to write after reading the review dissing this place for not being authentic thai. It's a pleasant oasis of small shops, some greenery, snacks and an escape from the heat and the city. The focus is on providing hands on opportunities, as well as locally made products, looks like sime of the artists studios are on site. There is a range of products and quality and talent, and a lot of the products and the activities seemed oriented to the young and feminine. But it's real arts and crafts, not traditional but authentic modern thai, a relief from mass production and the usual tourist traps. I was impressed by some of the shops at the back, bought a ceramic, enjoyed a sorbet in the raised treehouse style seating area.

Just a short drive out of the city this artist’s village is a lovely place to visit but it’s very small so try to include it with other places in the same direction. Other reviews have explained what’s there so I won’t. I must take exception to the review that said it’s not authentic Thai. I think she probably wanted to see the old traditional crafts from centuries ago being repeated. This is a place to find young modern Thai styles. They are nonetheless authentically Thai because they are Thai designs, made by Thai people in Thailand!

What a find! Was Told about this at the hotel and it actually didn’t come up in any of my searches but n trip advisor or elsewhere but it should have. This is an artists dream and photographers too. It’s a little hideaway off that side of road with alleys and pathways filled with trees, little art shops, art activities, jewlery making, juice bars etc. live music as well. It’s beautifully decorated and just has such a calming vibe to it. Totally fell in love here.

Nice quaint li’l art village filled with interesting crafts and little fringe activities and workshops to get into.

Many little studios to see the crafts, great for souvenirs to buy back.

Food options are small but if you see the Khao Soi Gai, that’s a must-try!! You may have to wait for it but it’s really delicious. The dish itself is a piece of art for its price.

Village is a bit out of the way so do note that it’s a bit hard to get a Grab out of the place.

Nicely curated maze of small workshops. Crowded. Handmade items but nothing authentic Thai and many of not great quality ( most European would find much better designed clothes, pottery, art etc). Nice place for kids to get hands on. Nice icecream. Be advised if you do go to get taxi to wait as it’s a bit isolated

I came here because the artists made it.
There's a lot of baby shops, so it's a good place to take pictures. Locals come a lot to take pictures. There are many cafes nearby. I also visited the popular No.39 cafe.

At first, l planned to go to kill time. But, it's better then I Thought. A small villa has coffee shops, craft workshops, and miniature kitchen garden. There are shady tree as a place to rest when you don't know where to go. Anyway, I spent hours there looking for people, relaxed, and played with the cat. I recommended the place for all ages.

Bann Kang Wat is fairly out of the way from Chiang Mai's main attractions so you would probably have to make a special trip just to get there. The place is simply a number of quirky shops selling handmade items such as clothing, jewelry, bags, accessories and other items. Each artisan or shop stands by itself and one can happily wander through the narrow, leafy pathways to discover pretty creations. As with all handmade items, the things are not cheap and we watched many people come and go empty handed. Many young people were just there to take very instagrammable photographs. I would say go only if you are into unique, quirky handmade items.

Everyone expects tigers, elephants, temples and markets in CM. This little "village" is very pretty with little shops and cafés in narrow little walkways. Some moaned about the food being expensive but it was less than half of what you would pay in Sydney and the cuisine was superb. The craft shops were beautiful and after writing this review will look to buy something.

I would rate this as a must visit if you have more then three days in CM
