See the gleaming golden spire and elaborate sculptures of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in peace and quiet on this serene sunrise tour. Watch the light spill across northern Thailand from one of the region’s highest points, and witness a morning alms-giving ceremony that most visitors miss. Your guide is a former monk, so you'll get first-hand insight into temple life and the Buddhist faith. A delicious Thai breakfast is also included.

At first, l planned to go to kill time. But, it's better then I Thought. A small villa has coffee shops, craft workshops, and miniature kitchen garden. There are shady tree as a place to rest when you don't know where to go. Anyway, I spent hours there looking for people, relaxed, and played with the cat. I recommended the place for all ages.

Small village build and decor with local materials that make the tourist WOW!!! but for Thai people can’t make them feel like that. Good for the people who like to take a photo. Different decor zone like old home decor, coffee shop or agricultural area. Middle of the area have a big space that is a nice place to take a photo. One of recommended place for tourism.

We took a songthaew for 100 baht out from the old town to visit the artists village on a Sunday morning. Pleasant experience wandering around the little artists’ units in the dappled sunshine. Not much for us to buy to be honest but plenty of cute photo opportunities if that’s what you want and we had a nice coffee in one of the cafes. Various foods available too.

Because we have a friend who lives in Chiang Mai, we were able to experience this lovely, very interesting and lively art village. It feels like a private place given its location among trees, excellent natural landscaping, and small studios, tiny restaurants and vendors of various crafts. There were no Western visitors when we went and that was at three different times and days. If fact, our very knowledgeable guide was unaware of Baan Kang Wat. The variety is of places to see is dazzling and yet, as I stated, it feels intimately private in a way. I only wish we'd have had time to take advantage of the watercolor lesson that was offered at one of the many art shops. I highly recommend spending some of your precious time here.
