We booked the Doi Inthanon National Park day tour in late February and I must admit it was the best choice for our short stay in Chiang Mai. We found Ukrit on TripAdvisor. He was extremely helpful, flexible, very knowledgeable and fantastic traveling companion/guide. Really enjoyed the Hike in the forest with young Rotee, the hike was a real fun. Hoping to do another Tour with Meesuk Tours on my next visit in Chaing Mai. Absolutely loved it and 100% recommended! Thank you Ukrit and Rotee!!!

We found Meesuk tours online and booked after reading the multiple great reviews. We were not disappointed! Ukrit was great and our day was everything we could have asked and more! We booked the tour that included elephant riding and a short hike to the Mok-Fah waterfall. Ukrit was very punctual in picking us up and we enjoyed learning about local history, culture, and how he started the company during the car ride up. We stopped at a small market outside of Chiang Mai where we could purchase coffee at a small shop owned by his friend. Ukrit provided free water and breakfast for us which included sticky rice and fried chicken. From there we drove to see the elephants. I was nervous about riding elephants after reading about widespread abuse and poor treatment of elephants online. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the elephants seemed well taken care of and there were no signs of abuse. Ukrit explained that he chose this small, family owned company to bring his tours to because he felt confident that they treated their elephants well. Only one other group of two was present while we were riding so there was no over-crowded feel. Once done riding the elephants we were able to bathe and feed them. Make sure to give the banana while the elephant is still sucking in or you'll wind up with a hand covered in snot ;) Afterwards, Ukrit provided fresh fruit and more water. We then made our way to see the waterfall which was cool to see, but I imagine way more spectacular out of the dry season. We mostly used this time to rest our feet in the water, relax, and chat more with Ukrit. We then grabbed a quick snack at a local cafe on the way back to town. We made a quick stop at Tiger Kingdom where Ukrit waited for us outside.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the tour. It felt like we were less on a formal tour and more being shown around by a local friend. I would recommend booking Meesuk Tours to any one who ventures to Chiang Mai!

We have been to Chiang Mai several times, and met Ukrit about 7 or 8 years ago. He was so helpful that the next time we went we requested him by name from the tour company that he worked for at the time. He has now gone out on his own and is obviously impressing his customers with his friendly and knowledgeable service.
We hope to get back to Chiang Mai next year to catch up with him.

We found Ukrit via trip advisor and contacted him once we arrived in Chiang Mai. We had very quick email exchanges and managed to book the half day basic elephant mahout learning and long neck tribe village tour for the next day. Due to elephant availability, Ukrit was really flexible and suggested we visited Tiger Kingdom in the morning before going to the elephant camp; he includes the drop off here as part of the package. Ukrit was on time and very friendly, conversation was always free flowing and he was very educational too; giving us lots of info at the tribal village. At the end of the day he even suggested, and generously waited, while we went zip lining and ensured we had snacks and drinks waiting when we finished. We enjoyed our day so much with Ukrit that we booked him for the next day on the half day - doi suthep temple, phalad temple and u-mong (tunnel) temple tour. Again, Ukrit was punctual and friendly and gave us lots of insight during our walk around these amazing temples on the mountain. Definitely a 10/10 service for such a young business (1 years old and named after his daughter). We would 100% recommend and are already telling family and friends to book him later in the year. Thanks Ukrit!

This was one of the best experiences of my life!! We chose the 1/2 day tour-riding/feeding/bathing an elephant and then visiting the long neck tribe. Our guide was Ukrit and he was amazing. He responded very quickly to my inquiry about the excursion and we were quickly able to set up a day to meet an elephant! He picked us up from our hotel in his very nice car, and not only was he on time but he was early! We don't like to be late for things, so we got to lobby early and he was already waiting for us! He speaks wonderful English and he is very knowledgeable. His love for his country shows which is wonderful, but he also expressed interest about where we are from and what we do for a living. He is a genuine nice guy.
After he picked us up from our hotel we stopped at a local market to buy fresh fruit and light snacks to have after we meet the elephants. Ukrit also bought some candy to bring to the children of the long neck tribe! The drive was almost an hour to the elephant sanctuary but time flew by when we were talking to Ukrit and taking in the scenery!
Once we got to the elephant sanctuary, Ukrit gave us some fun elephant riding pants to wear so our legs won't get scratched as they are very rough in texture. Then we met 4 elephants; there was even a baby!! We got to feed all of them bananas and the trainers were right there with us telling us exactly what to do and wear to stand. The trainers are very nice to the elephants and don't use any sticks or hooks, just words that the elephants know. The whole time during all of this, Ukrit is taking candid pictures of everything (and later he emailed me the pictures via Drop Box!!!) We then met our elephant we were going to ride. She followed us to an area where we met her up close and personal. We fed her some bananas and then the trainer was teaching us words to tell the elephant while we were riding her like "stop, go, left, right, trunk up, good job." He showed us how to get onto the elephant since we were riding her bare back. (We didn't want to be a part of any elephant tours that uses a box on top of them as we feel it's uncomfortable for the animal.) I got to sit at her head behind her ears and my boyfriend on her back and half way in between the ride we got to switch. We crossed the river after some hesitation from our elephant (she must've known the water was chilly) and had a 40 minute walk around the sanctuary. Ukrit stayed behind and took pictures from afar. Once we returned to the river, the trainers had the elephant kneel down in the water and we stepped down and started bathing her! They gave us some bamboo shreds and a pale and we absolutely LOVED this part! The elephant was blowing bubbles with her trunk as if she was enjoying this experience as much as us! We then hopped back on and she took us out of the river and then we got to slide off her trunk!
After we parted ways with our elephant, we got to change then relax and have a light snack with all the fresh fruit that Ukrit bought earlier. This was yet again accompanied with some good conversation! We then headed to see the long neck tribe, which wasn't very far from the elephant sanctuary. This area is very beautiful with a small waterfall. We walked through the village and Ukrit told us about the tribe and let us feel the heavy weight of the hoops the women wear around their neck. Every tribal child he passed received a handful of candy. They all call him the candy man! Such a wonderful thing for him to do! We were able to take pictures of the tribe as they were hand making scarves and we were able to buy them or other things they have made.
Before we left the tribal village, Ukrit offered to give us a ride to the Tiger Kingdom where we could meet a tiger up close, but we opted for heading back to the hotel. He was even so kind in helping us figure out what taxis to take and where to go during the rest of our trip in Chiang Mai.
We really had an amazing adventure with Ukrit! Thank you so much! If we are ever back in Chiang Mai we will book with him again, or even just meet with him to have lunch and a good conversation :)

We spent the day with Ukrit, touring the elephant sanctuary, the Longneck Village, and Tiger Kingdom. In addition to being a genuinely warm person, he is a virtual encyclopedia of Thai culture and history. We loved every minute of our tour and will definitely book with Ukrit again when we return to Chiang Mai! A true professional with a great personality, Ukrit attended to every detail to ensure we had the very best experience! Definitely the highlight of our visit to Chiang Mai!

I cannot recommend Chiangmai Meesuk tours enough. Facebook needs more stars for this tour guide... Mr. Ukrit was very knowledgeable of Thailand's history (which is a subject I loved), took me to some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen IN MY LIFE, and he even brought me to places that were NOT filled with tourist, and as a photographer, it was awesome that he brought me to these hidden spots where I can take my time, take in the scenery, and get a good picture!
He spoke great english, told me where and when it was important to be safe, and when I can get a little bit more rowdy, and when I got my camera wet on accident, he was kind enough to bring me dry rice so that I can get my camera working again. Great man, beautiful family, in Amazing Thailand. The only think I could ask for at the end is when his next availability was. *drops mic* ^_^

I had booked a Half Day Basic Elephant Mahout Learning and Long Neck Tribe Village tour with Ukrit. He was originally booked for the day we wanted, but we really wanted to go with Ukrit so we reshuffled our other plans to fit this in. He was very quick to respond via e-mail and phone.
We were really excited for our trip, but unfortunately when we arrived in Chiang Mai, we had to cancel last minute. I called Ukrit to explain our situation and he was very understanding. Will have to try this out again the next time we are in Chiang Mai!

Ukrit was born and raised in the center of Chiang Mai and has extensive knowledge of the area. He has impeccable English and was very kind and considerate of our 3 children. He was extremely accommodating as we changed plans and he then took us to try a delicious local noodle soup. All 5 of our family had a great day! I highly recommend!

Hi thinking of a family trip to Chiangmai but not sure if its a suitable destination for young children. My kids are 9 & 7 yrs old and they might do the temple trip and sight seeing for a bit until it gets too boring for them... planning is crucial for me as I am trying to avoid too much/long road trips getting from point to point which takes up to "more time getting there vs things to do" ... anyone with young kids whos been and can share their experience much appreciated.
> I am looking for a area to stay that is suitable and near to activities for kids (7 & 9yrs)
> any recommendation of either villas or hotel (not necessary 5 stars but clean rooms with kids channels and/or kids club for older kids)
> easy access to restaurants

Hello! There are the activities for kids to do such as visiting Chiangmai Zoo, Night Zafari. If you would like to do the tour you can visit Elephant Camp which take about 45 min. to 1 hour drive from the city. If you don't want to take a long time journey you make take a tour to visit Maesa Elephant camp. Your kids can enjoy the Elephant show in this camp. For visiting temple you can visit beautiful temmple on the mountain which called Doi Suthep Temple. To go to this temple by car is take about 40 minutes to there.
Some hotel in town which I would like to recommend is Le Naview hotel, Tamarind boutique hotel( inside old city area) Rachamankha Hotel, Dusit Princes Hotel(in night bazaar area)
Thank you for contacting Chiangmai Meesuk Tours.
