Home cooking class in Chiangmai

Benny and Nan are an exceptional team. We loved their humor, kindness and compassion towards cooking and making new friends. Before the class Benny takes you to a local market to buy ingredients for your meal and to give you the experience of the local market.

It was wonderful to meet Bennys’s mother because many of the recipes are her own, traditional and delicious!!

If you are foodie like me you must experience making “authentic ” delicious Thai food with Benny at Benny’s Home Cooking.

Best cooking class ever!

Our experience with Benny was phenomenal start to finish! It was recommended by a coworker who had done many cooking classes in Thailand and now I know why.

She was so much fun, the experience was very intimate (we did a private lesson), we actually learned so much, and it truly felt like we made a friend in Chiang Mai instead of just taking a cooking class. We learned about each other’s cultures and had so much fun throughout the class. She has all these amazing personal touches like a personal garden, brining us a special honeymoon dish, and keeping track of where each person is from. You can tell she truly loves her job, company and all of her students.

We already miss you Benny!!! Thank you for an unforgettable experience

Highlight of my Thailand trip

My Mom and I were backpacking Northern Thailand together, and Benny's Home Cooking class was one of the biggest highlights of our trip! I'm not a great cook myself, and my Mom loves to cook but the class had such a big range of ages and skill level that it was fun and educational for the both of us. We did the whole day with Benny and a small group of 8 people in total. We got picked up at our hostel and started with introducing ourselves to the group as we picked people up along the way, and we got to select what specific dishes we wanted to cook. We took a tour in a local market where we learned about what ingredients we would use. We even got to try some amazing (and different) foods and treats! Then we went to Benny's home where we had a very clean and organized outdoor kitchen area. Each of us had our own cooking station with all the ingredients we needed for the recipes we chose. I would highly suggest the all day class since we got to cook 5-6 dishes and just really enjoy our time with socializing and relaxing in between the cooking and eating. We both had food babies afterwards, it was SO much amazing food and I'm really surprised that I made it. We also got a cook book that Benny made so we can bring the taste of Thailand home with us. Thank you Benny, you're the best teacher!

Our family of 4 adults and 2 children (ages 9 and 11) had an awesome time with Benny. She is such a vibrant, knowledgeable, fun, humorous cooking instructor! Our day started at a local market where we learned a lot about Thai ingredients and dishes. Then we went to her home and made a number of dishes ourselves. We can't wait to try making everything at home. Thanks for the great experience, Benny!

Benny’s the best!

Spent New Year’s Eve with Benny and my 2 20-something sons. We had the best time ! Benny met us at a local market, showed us some unusual foods for sale there, and bought some snacks for us to sample before going to her home, where she has a lovely outdoor pavilion of sorts all set up for her cooking classes. (As a bonus, it borders a rice patty with a gorgeous sunset view!). Benny was incredibly organized. Her mom, sister, and partner help to set up the ingredients, wash dishes, etc., so that Benny was totally focused on the 3 of us, explaining and teaching about the foods we were preparing and cooking. She is super personable and enthusiastic, AND the foods were ALL delicious! Highly recommend this great experience!!

This was amazing! Benny is the sweetest woman. We laughed, talked, cooked, and ate all day long. They picked us op at the hostel, brought us to the local market and then to their own home to cook. At the end of the day they bring you back to the place you're staying at with a full stomach! Thank you so much for letting us feel so welcome at your place!😍💛

Spend a day with Benny!

We had a great day with Benny and her kitchen fairies. Benny responded quickly to emails and picked us up promptly. She walked around the market with us and had us try a few things. Her love of food and joy in sharing it were wonderful. We learned a lot and ate a lot!

Don't miss this fantastic real Thai experience

This class was one of the most memorable activities we did in Chiang Mai. The small classes and a casual atmosphere makes you feel like you're cooking at a friend's home. Benny is a great host and fantastic teacher. This class is a must if you looking for some Thai knowldge and experience.

A Truly Authentic Experience

My wife and I took the private dinner cooking class with Benny and had a blast. We were picked up form our hotel in a classic Songtaew (Red Truck Taxi) and visited a local market ~40 min outside Chiang Mai. Benny gave us a tour of the market before we headed over to her family's house to cook. Her family's house has a well-equipped outdoor kitchen with plenty of shade. There's cold water for free and plenty of beer for purchase.

Benny and her staff gave us a wonderful experience, walking us through several recipes step-by-step and making sure we executed them ourselves, patiently answering questions and correcting our technique. My wife is an avid chef and she really appreciated the attention. The food was absolutely delicious.

Between meals we enjoyed Benny's company, comparing life and culture in the US and Thailand. This was probably the most enjoyable part of the experience for me.

Great value for the experience, highly recommended!

A Great Experience In A Beautiful Location

I attended Benny’s Home Cooking Full Day Class on January with my mom and we both really enjoyed it! It was so much fun to make the food and then eat it. And surprisingly all my dishes tasted amazing. The location was really beautiful about 20 to 30 minutes outside of downtown Chiang Mai.
