I went there with 2 friends with expectation to see this flower which blooming only during Dec-Jan every year. The road to go there are proper road but drive up on the mountains may make you feel car sick. But when you reach to the place then you will feel wow!!! so beautiful. This place is on the way to Doi Pui so you can visit Doi Suthep, Doi Pui and Khun Chang Khian in the same day. If you are strong enough for driving on the mountains......:)

When the winter comes.... We are in Thailand waiting to see "Sakura" also like in Japan. In Thailand cherry blossom in Chiangmai will bloom about end of December to beginning of Feburary, depends on the weather. The road to Khun Chang Khian is only one len, the driver must have a skilled or with 4 Wheel drive car. There is a TAXI/plublic car parking in front of Phra That Doi Suthep where you can rent.
If you have a skilled and D4D car after visit Khun Chang Khian you can get out the other way through Lynchee garden and have meal at Huay Thung Thao (sit in a hut next to the pound, it's really relaxing).
- Better to go in the morning because there are so many Thai fans of Sakura.
- Good to try a hot cup of local coffee (40 Baht), good taste
- If you are an advanture motorbike riding good to ride and exit the other way out to Huay Tung Thao.

This mountain top location is treacherous to get to with exceedingly narrow roads and steep drops down the mountainsides. The Cherry blossoms which occur in January and February are AMAZING. Originally a gift from the chinese they were abandoned during the war and literally propagated all the way down the mountainside. Go during the week if you are here for the cherry blossoms. The weekends are crazy.

I like to see the flower, it seem we're in JAPAN. The road on the way to go it's quite dangerous, you have to asking local driver to bring you there.

Very beautiful place, fresh berries, coffee... beautiful temperature and weather.
I'm in love with this place!
A must visit in Chiang Mai.
My suggestion to come here is to take get an Uber to the University and then hire the red trucks. My friend and I got the red truck all the way from the square and it was pretty pricey.

Nice place with occasional fog n mist. Went on 2nd Jan and it's amazing to be able to see this at this part of the Asia. The local stall food at the start of the place adds on the flavour to the whole visit

A rare gem in Thailand where cherry blossom is found here within royal agricultural centre. February is towards the ending of cherry blossom season, yet the cold weather and the cool flowers will definitely take your breath away. Rent a tent to stay overnight is an option to spend a little more times here. Cafe and small canteen is available here.

So glad we made it to see the sakaru! The ride up was a bit chaotic - in the peak season, imagine narrow road with 2-way traffic, and lots of personal cars (out of Chiang Mai's)! Wished the local authority would enforce only local cars can go up. It was worth the ride up!
