Wat Ratchamonthian, a north-facing temple, unusual for Thailand, was constructed in the 15th century under the reign of King Tilokarat, Lanna’s most famous monarch. The ornate two-story temple, recently restored, is distinctive for its reddish-brown walls and the huge seated Buddha, in the Earth Witness...More

Meaning Dragon Temple, it is more easily recognised by the giant Buddha out front and on a seeming platform balcony. The building itself is gorgeous and worth a walk around just to admire the intricate design

Recognizable by the large buddha our front, Wat Ratchamonthian is located in the north side of the city. Both the exterior and interior of the temple and assembly hall are beautiful. The surrounding grounds are well kept. The temple is one of the smaller temples...More

Wat Rajamontean is one of ChiangMais beautiful temples: just by looking at it from the outside it is amazing. Photo worthy and it is near every temple inside and outside the square.

A beautiful temple like all the Wat's I visited. Beautiful inside and out. Plenty of smaller Wat's around the main temple to see. A smaller Wat but nice to see. Large seated Buddha. Bit out the way but worthwhile seeing

Climb up steps to see large Buddha, and ornate dragons on the steps. Across the moat from the large Wat Lok Molle

Nice quiet temple. Not too many people when I visited. It's a good place to just sit and be still. Beautifully painted, too.

This temple is often called Wat Morn Thean Temple. In Thailand temples have many different spellings - do not let them get too confused. The great Buddha has only been in this temple in 2010, thus it is relatively new. The architecture is not typically...More
