The staff have some strict rules and healthy precessions to enter the cafe. All cats seemed really healthy and well taken care of. Drinks a little bit expensive but if the money goes to the care of the cats that’s totally worth it!

23 wonderful, amazing and playful cats. The staff is also great. They take precautions to keep everything clean. You must wash and sanitize your hands before entry. Great food, smoothies and service.
You may find your soul here...
I walked about 3 miles to get here and I think I will do it every day while in Chiang Mai.
They also have lint rollers for use when you leave.
The 1.5 hour time limit is hard to accept, but necessary.
I'm in love with Jean Luc.
Don't miss this.

This was a very interesting place to get your cat “fix”. 23 super cute cats which appeared to be healthy and well cared for. We had to wash our hands outside first and remove our shoes before entering. Very small inside and you sit on pillows on the floor. The drinks were very cold and delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was the smell. I smelled poop smell as soon as I entered. Sort of got used to it after I was inside for awhile. No visual litter boxes. Also, it was very hard to find and the locals don’t seem to have any idea this place exists.

Not really worth it- cats didn’t want to be pet, drinks were pricy, and it smelled bad. Seems that the cats were burnt out.
However, friendly staff and I guess kinda fun to look at the cats.
All in all, we left after 20 minutes.

I am quite wonder that there are someone also notice something about this place as well. First of all the staffs were not friendly. I have been to many cat cafes but this place was unwelcoming. They "bawled" at you to wash your hand before you go in. Although washing hands are generally a must but this was way too much. They seemed look down on you trying to figure out what you have been doing wrong the whole time.
When you entered the cafe, the staffs and the owner pretended to be above you. Literally! The staffs counter was above us. I mean this is way inappropriate. While we were sitting on the floor, they were standing over a high cashier register scanning the clients. They talked to each other over customers' heads. Sometimes they chit-chat to the people in the back.
The parking space was always filled with some show-off bike or their-owns. Not for customer parking even so they have said there is one. The food was overpriced. Expensive even. Drinks are categorise as expensive as well and they tasted just run-of-a-mill.
The cats were cute and adorable generally but nothing really worth your time here. They are climbing all over the place and they could reach your plates and cups easily. You get scolded if cats are going anywhere near the plates or if they think that you are feeding the cat.
The place was cramped and uncomfortable. The owner was not interested in customer care or anything. They only care for the cats and that is why the place look more like prison with guards overlooking above and all.
So personally I would not recommend this place. Types of cats and the cuteness of their cats are just general. Still some are really adorable but not really worth the effort to come here and get uncomfortably watched.

Hi Ausrulf, our cats have asked me to forward the following response:
“We agree with everything in your review. Except (meow) the part where it says 'cuteness of their cats are just general’. What do you mean by that meow?”

We decided to give Catmosphere cafe a visit as we were looking for a more low-key activity one afternoon, and I'm so glad we did!! Let me start off by saying Tripadvisor has the WRONG address, the address on here is actually for Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Centre (where people looked at me like I was crazy when I asked where the 'cat cafe' was) and the cafe is located around 2.5km further down Huay Kaew Road, double check with their website.
The cafe itself is lovely with great drinks, food and comfy floor seating so you can get maximum play time in with the kitties. There are 12 incredibly cute cats (bengals, scottish folds, persians and more), most of them being kittens given the cafe only opened a few months ago meaning the entertainment never stops. It is also kept very clean, with hand sanitizer everywhere for all the germaphobes out there. The owners and staff are also very friendly so I can't recommend it enough! I will definitely be back next time I am in town :)

Cat cafés have long been a staple of Japanese culture, but only for the past couple of years the rest of the world has been catching on, with an increasing amount of cafés popping up everywhere. This success won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has ever visited one of the nicer cat cafés - cats and coffee go together like popcorn and butter.
At Catmosphere, the first thing I spotted was a “cat-esque” star wars movie poster (more sci-fi references are found inside). The café is cozy with a dozen or so cats running around. Cat aficionados won’t be disappointed - the roster includes beautiful Bengal cats, Scottish Folds, Persians and British Shorthairs that seem to have a good time playing, sleeping, and climbing all around the place.
The seating is comfortable, the drinks & cakes are good, and the cats are friendly - there couldn’t be a better mix to spend a few relaxed hours. The place can be crowded on afternoons and weekends so it is better to visit before noon or in the evening after 6pm.

For me two important aspects of a coffee are great coffee and a relaxing atmosphere and in Catmosphere Cafe I found plenty of both. The fact that they have a bunch of the cutest and most playful cats running around is really just a bonus. What really differentiates my experience at Catmosphere to other coffee shops though, is that I always left with a full belly and a smile on my face.

After going to another cat cafe I was excited to visit another. However, I was somewhat disappointed by this place. It was very small and there wasn’t much room to move around. When I left my table to see a cat (we were sandwiched in between 2 other tables with no cat beds near by) I was told by the staff that I was in the way and had to stay at my table. What is the point of going to a cat cafe if I can’t go to see the cats? Then some cats had clearly had enough of the attention (understandably!) and would try and leave the room. The staff would block the cats from leaving. The cats would also try to go on the cat shelves and the staff stopped them multiple times. This made me very uncomfortable as I felt it was unfair to the cats that they were forced to always be in the room with people. I understand that they probably did this to try and give the customers a good experience with having as many cats as possible in the room, however I felt it was inappropriate and made the cats seem like circus animals that always had to be around to perform. Also, very unimpressed by the rude and sarcastic replies from the owner to negative reviews. Granted, some reviews are being unnecessarily picky, but I think the responses are come across as rude.

Most of our trips involve lots of walking through temples and such, so our eight year old daughter was super excited to check out this cute little cat cafe as a break. They had nineteen cats named along a Star Wars theme (yes one is called Yoda!), but one was pregnant and expecting to deliver this week - she was hiding upstairs. The rest are used to people and very comfortable coming up and checking out the humans who pop in to visit. They ask you to wash your hands before entering, and they spritz you again with disinfectant just to be safe. You also wear slippers inside so bring socks if you don't like being barefoot in public slippers.
We had coffee, hot chocolate (complete with cat decoration on the foam) and I had a yummy kiwi flavored drink in a mason jar (they will make it with still water if you ask, else it's soda water). We ate bowls of their beef spaghetti bolognese (they also had pork bolognese and carbonara) and shared an order of fries. Food was mostly eaten by the parents as our daughter was more interested in photographing and playing with the cats! Food was simple but tasty. No admission price but you're expected to buy at least a drink. They were at 80% capacity but didn't rush us at any time. Another nice gesture was giving us the wifi password as soon as we sat down at a table. :). Definitely a fun hour or two, great idea for kids!

Do you need to make a reservation? When is the best time to come, ie when is it not too busy?
Thanks
Written November 13, 2018
Hello, thanks for reaching out! 10:00am is by far the best time because that's when the cats wake up and get super busy for an hour or so. They then proceed to sleep for most of the day. The second-best time is 6:30pm, 1 1/2 hours before bedtime, which is when the second burst of cat activity happens. Morning and evening is also the least busy in terms of customers.
We don't have a reservation system but if you arrive at 10:00am you'll always get a table.

Hi cat catmosphere! I visited today and thoroughly enjoyed. However i noticed many of the cats were not de-sexed. Is this something that is planned to have done? I noticed some males were attempting to mate with young female kittens so i take it they are not de-sexed either. There are so many strays on the street it would be a shame to have the cats mating when some could be rescued of street instead.
Also are your cats vaccinated and wormed etc?
Written January 17, 2015
Hi Aimee, thanks for stopping by and great to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Yes, the cats have all standards vaccinations and we have strict procedures in place to keep them healthy, including regular check-ups by a vet.
Not all of the cats are neutered as we are planning to selectively mate some of them. However, most of the males are neutered. The male you saw attempting to mate today was probably Cooper (our new Persian) - he's new at Catmosphere and hasn't been neutered yet but it will happen soon.
I hope this answers your questions and hope to welcome you back at our café soon!
