About
Do you want to learn how to get the most from your camera? Or just find some of the best locations in and around Chiang Mai to shoot photos? We run workshops designed to teach you how to enjoy your camera more and get stunning results. We'll also take you places most tour guides will not. We started these workshops because we see so many tourists who are not confident using their cameras. Modern cameras are full of incredible technology with many automatic settings. These are great for making snapshots. But you can do better than that. You can learn to use your camera to create images with feeling. Photos tell a story and really communicate your travel experience. I have over 25 years experience as a professional photographer. Please visit our website to read details of the workshops and make a booking.

Just to be very clear here- unfortunately i did not manage to go to meet Kevin for a photography class. However, I read some of the reviews and there is one in particular that I think seems very unfair- so i hope this review can clear up any confusion. Kevin and I have been emailing back & forth because I have some particular choices and dates. Kevin has been extremely helpful and accommodating and I could not have received a faster and more clear email exchange from him. If his classes are anything like the email advice and information he has exchanged then id recommend booking here. I will for certain be making another trip to Chiang Mai and prioritising this activity. When booking activities online in a different country/culture it can be daunting and you need to be wary of the prices& info offered. Kevin clearly is a trustworthy business man- and by the reviews from others his classes themselves seem to be of the highest quality.

Kevin is a talented photographer and instructor. He made sure to understand what it was that my husband and I wanted to see, experience and accomplish and then, over the course of three days he made it all happen! Big shout out to Kevin's wife, also a photographer and amazing cook, Pansa!

My Wife and I, had a wonderful day with Kevin and Pansa in Chiang Mai, in the first week of June. The photography experience was a real valuable eye opener for us. Both Kevin and Pansa are great communicators of their visions and concepts of their photographic skills. From the initial discussions over a coffee, to the market experience and the temples, and a great chat over a delightful lunch, the complete day was an enjoyable day. This workshop was a great way to start our month in and around Chiang Mai, and the tips and new ideas from that day, inspired us both, to enjoy our photography on a new level.

Thanks Gabe. We appreciate you taking time to leave a review and are happy you enjoyed the workshop. It was lovely to see the book you produced of your trip, especially to see the photos from your travels further north.

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Kevin and Pu doing the Mae Sa Valley workshop. Because the tutoring was 1 on 1, (my husband just came along for the day), Kevin and Pu were able to pinpoint exactly what I needed in order to improve my photography. I learned so much and the great places we visited provided excellent subjects. I can't wait to get home to download all my images!

I signed up for this tour because I was feeling frustrated with my camera and wanted to learn how to use the manual mode in order to have more control of images I capture in my travels. This morning tour was just thing to do that! Kevin and Pu had a wonderful morning planned with tours a few different markets and less-visited spots in Chiang Mai. Before the tour, I started one of Kevin's Udemy photo course, which goes nicely with a tour for a beginner. Kevin gave clear directions on how to work with my camera and by the end of the morning I was surprised that I hadn't felt the need to switch to my auto mode once. Both Kevin and Pu have nice connections to people in the markets and I could see this through their interactions. I was the only person on this tour, which meant I got a lot of personal instruction on light, using my camera and then about composition. This tour ended up being equally about seeing a different place in the city as about feeling confident in using my camera. I'd highly recommend this tour for any level of photographer. I can hardly wait to head out and use what I've learned to capture more of the amazing things I have seen in Thailand and beyond.

We had a fabulous day out with Kevin LJ visiting and photographing elephants. Kevin's personal and friendly manner made this a relaxing day. He is knowledgeable and passionate about photography but also very good with experienced and beginner photographers! Our day out visiting elephants was a highlight of our time in Chiang Mai, it was something we won't forget in a hurry and it was the most incredible way to learn more about photography and Thailand's elephants. We would highly recommend a day out with Kevin.

Make a Chiang Mai's life style Photography workshop is a great way to start getting close look and capture better memory than usual tourist. The trip started early morning to shoot monks parade for their food donation at Kruba Sriwichai monument.A hundred monks line up to the city for food donation. Then go to Tonpayorm market, a busy local fresh market to photograph friendly smile of Thais and real local lifestyle of Chiang Mai people. The market is the same age as Chiang Mai Kingdom.

I had a fantastic day on the Chiang Mai Photography Tour. Kevin and the team were extremely professional and easy to get along with. I picked up loads of tips, especially about lighting and preparing for a potential action shot. Kevin is happy to answer any questions throughout the day and the choice of locations was spot on.

I've been enjoying Kevin's articles on a photography website for a couple of years and that made for an easy decision when heading to Chiang Mai. I wanted to do a photography workshop and didn't need to look any further. I was pleased that throughout the day I learned a lot from Kevin, and not all of it from direct instruction. Just by picking his brain on various topics I got some useful information and tips which was great. I highly recommend taking this workshop.

Thanks Phil. I appreciate that you've known my style of teaching from the articles I write and that the in-person experience you had during the workshop was also valuable to you. I love it when I'm asked lots of good questions during a workshop :) Enjoy the online courses and I look forward to seeing more of your photos and interacting with you in our facebook group.
